The room was spacious and comfortable, clearly decorated with great care. It's located in a newly built villa complex within the ancient city, spanning three floors from ground to basement. It offers a peaceful retreat while still being close to the central district – just a short walk away. The owner was very welcoming and provided pick-up and drop-off service, which was a warm touch when visiting a new place. Unfortunately, I caught a cold during my stay due to the dry weather and spent half my time resting at the guesthouse. The front desk lady even helped with my laundry, drying it and bringing it back to my room, which was a huge convenience. Plus, ordering takeout was super easy. Overall, it's a highly recommended place for accommodation and relaxation, as it has everything you need. Datong itself has a lot to offer, but unfortunately, due to my health, I only got to see the highlights: the grottoes and the wooden pagoda. It's a shame I couldn't get climbing tickets for the Hanging Temple; I'll definitely visit again next time.

I highly recommend this guesthouse! Firstly, the location is excellent. It's right inside the ancient city, very close to Huayan Temple, Nine Dragon Wall, and the ancient city wall, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. Secondly, the room layout is fantastic. In a prime location within the ancient city where every inch is precious, finding a guesthouse with two bedrooms and two bathrooms is quite rare, and it perfectly met our needs. Room hygiene: The room was clean and tidy, with no strange odors, and it was cleaned daily. Disposable bath towels and toilet seat covers were provided. The guesthouse also has parrots 🦜, peacocks 🦚, squirrels 🐿️, and goldfish 🐟, which add a lot of life to the place, and these little animals are all very friendly to people. While there are many guesthouses in the ancient city now, I still recommend this one the most, and the reason is the service! The owner of this guesthouse has an excellent service attitude, answering every question. As soon as we arrived, seeing that we were tired, they immediately brought us iced watermelon 🍉 and peaches 🍑. In the morning, they brought us warm, homegrown old corn 🌽 and local specialties. We were very touched!

The room was great, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The courtyard (siheyuan) is absolutely beautiful. The underground parking was also very convenient. The service was excellent. I didn't use my car for two days, so leaving wasn't the smoothest. I had to rush to Yungang Grottoes and left before 7 AM, getting a bit delayed at the entrance. The parking fee was 100 RMB (even though there was a free parking voucher, it didn't link successfully), but the owner paid it for me. This is a very responsible establishment, and both the owner and the housekeeper are wonderful. The location is super convenient, and the breakfast is incredibly delicious. Many thanks!

Very close to Parkson, the location is excellent, 200 meters from the hotel is the old wood cutting noodles, and there is an electric car for guests to rent at the entrance of the hotel, which is very convenient. Hotel breakfast until 11 o'clock, tastes good, suitable for tourists who like to get up late The room was very clean, especially the bathroom, separated from wet and dry, the bathroom was spacious and the hot water was very flush! The place is very clean, and the environment is really cozy, making for a very comfortable stay. The shower pressure is fantastic, I'm very satisfied, it's such great value! The staff (specifically, a young lady) was very welcoming and even thoughtfully prepared breakfast for us. Five-star recommendation!

This guesthouse boasts a wonderfully elegant ambiance and a truly superb location. Stepping out, you're right on Gulou East Street, perfect for exploring, and Southeast Yi is just a few minutes' walk away. Despite its bustling street location, the guesthouse's courtyard offers surprising tranquility. We slept soundly through the night and woke up naturally, completely undisturbed. The owner and the housekeeper were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They were always ready to answer any questions, from before our arrival until our departure, and their responses were always very detailed. Every day, the housekeeper would kindly ask us what time we'd like breakfast the next morning, and at the agreed time, she'd even come to our room door to let us know it was ready. I absolutely adored it!!! If I ever visit again, I would definitely choose Yishui Street.

We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good. Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around. What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge! If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

As a solo traveler, I was a little apprehensive before my trip, secretly hoping there wouldn't be any unpleasant surprises, but it turns out I worried too much. This place boasts an excellent location in Wulong Alley, with beautiful surroundings that are safe and comfortable, and fully equipped facilities. Because it's not right next to the busiest snack streets, it's very quiet at night, allowing for a truly restful sleep – huge thumbs up! It's close to the North City Wall and convenient for visiting attractions like Huayan Temple, Daiwangfu, and the Nine Dragon Screen in the ancient city. It was also easy to reach all the eateries on my must-try list, such as Longjuxiang, Zini 369, Heshengcai, and Xijindao Snacks, and I managed to check them all off! I passed by Kuixing Tower and its wishing doll countless times; perhaps it was fate, haha 😄. For those who are too lazy to even walk a kilometer, there are shared bikes available. The owner is incredibly welcoming; they contacted me half a day in advance, added me on WeChat, and waited for me at the entrance. They went over all the important details and even asked about my breakfast preferences for the next day. The breakfast itself was perfectly portioned, exquisite, and nutritious. This place exceeded my expectations, another big thumbs up! Choosing this accommodation has made me even more excited for future solo travels. I hope the owner's business thrives, and I look forward to returning with my child and family sometime in the future for another visit.

This time to Datong, choosing to stay at Shengyajuju is really the wisest decision! From booking to leaving the store, the whole experience is impeccable. Location: The location of the homestay is quiet, it is very convenient to go to the core attractions such as the ancient city wall, Huayan Temple, Kowloon Wall and other attractions, and it is within walking distance. The surrounding life is convenient, but it will not be too noisy, and the rest is very quiet at night. Environmental facilities: I was deeply attracted as soon as I entered the door! The decoration is very distinctive, perfectly integrating classical Chinese aesthetics and modern comfort. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and I lay on it to remove the fatigue of the journey. The facilities are full marks, high-definition projection, first-class quality toiletries, details can feel the owner's intentions everywhere. Warm service: The hospitality of the boss and staff makes people feel at home. The room introduced the play guide and food map, helping to book tickets, and saving a lot of worry. Featured experience: I have to mention the breakfast near his home! The authentic Shanxi characteristics are clean and delicious, and they are full of energy for a day of play. Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!
