GGuest UserWe stayed at the Floral Hotel beside Dream Valley during Chinese New Year, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve had anywhere in China.
While the location is already a major advantage being just steps away from Dream Valley and close to the other Hengdian attractions - what truly sets this hotel apart is the heart and personality behind it. This is not a typical boutique hotel. It’s a place shaped by the owners’ passion, taste, and genuine care for their guests.
From the moment you arrive, you can feel that the hotel is a labor of love. The architecture and interior design are beautifully curated, with many pieces collected by the owners over the years. Walking through the courtyard and hallways feels like stepping into a different era, almost like entering a scene from the Song dynasty. Yet the rooms themselves are fully modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. It’s a rare blend of historical atmosphere and contemporary convenience, and it creates a sense of immersion that you simply don’t get at most hotels in the area.
Even though we didn’t stay in the hotel’s best room, we were extremely comfortable. The beds are very firm - something to keep in mind depending on your preference - but we slept well. The room features a large, modern soaking tub that’s perfect after a long day of walking through the film sets and a separate bathroom and shower. And one of our favorite touches was the smart projector in the room, which turns a simple movie night into a cinematic experience. It’s small details like these that show how much thought has gone into making the stay enjoyable.
But the true highlight of our visit was the hospitality. The owners are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making guests feel welcome. On one rainy day, when there wasn’t much for us to do outside, they invited us into their main hall for tea. They set up a traditional tea table with a heated brazier, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere that felt like visiting old friends rather than staying at a hotel. They kept bringing local snacks: seeds, small rice cakes, and even freshly cooked sweet potato - all offered freely and with genuine kindness. My wife and kids loved every bit of it. What could have been a dull, rainy afternoon became one of our favorite memories of the entire trip.
Their kindness extended beyond that moment. At one point, we accidentally made a mess in our room (entirely our fault) and the owners helped us clean up without a hint of frustration or judgment. It’s rare to find that level of patience and understanding, especially during the busy holiday season.
Breakfast each morning was another highlight. The hotel has a local cook who clearly takes pride in her craft. The dishes were fresh and simple but full of flavor, prepared with care and attention. You could feel her pride in everything she served. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and appreciate the home cooked moment, rather than rushing through a buffet line like at larger hotels.
All in all, this hotel was a true win for us. The personal touches, the warmth of the owners, the passion of the cook, and the unique atmosphere created by the carefully collected antiques all come together to create an experience that stands out among the many boutique hotels in the area. In fact, I would say it’s probably better than any other hotel around Hengdian. It’s rare to find a place that feels both deeply rooted in local culture and fully equipped with modern comforts, but this hotel manages to do exactly that.
We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Hengdian, whether for the parks, the film sets, or simply a relaxing getaway. And if we ever return to the area, we would stay here again without hesitation.

GGuest UserI was very satisfied with my stay. The front desk staff greeted us warmly, the bedding in the room was excellent, and the soundproofing was great. Upon arrival, they welcomed us with a refreshing cup of tea—a lovely gesture! Breakfast hours were ample, and the restaurant staff maintained the same friendly attitude. Every time we passed by the front desk, they offered polite greetings. The check-out process was seamless, and they even provided a thoughtful complimentary bottle of water. 👍👍

GGuest UserSuper fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle.
Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel.
There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set.
The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors.
The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai.
The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups.
The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day.
The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi.
Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies.

JJiuaidaxiongmaoThe location is pretty good; Qin Palace is a 10-minute walk to the left, and Dream Valley is a 10-minute walk to the right. The hotel is on the second row from the street, so it's relatively quiet. The decor is quite new, and the room is spacious. They have their own parking, both above ground and underground. Maybe because there weren't many guests, breakfast was served to the room, which was just okay.

GGuest UserThe service was exceptional. In the mornings, staff would greet us warmly, and upon arrival, they'd actively welcome us and assist with our luggage. The breakfast spread was also very rich, and the on-site restaurant service was a thoughtful touch.
The family room was really nice, specifically equipped with amenities for children. The window offered a view of Dream Valley, and the hotel's proximity to Qin Palace and Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival made getting around incredibly convenient.

GGuest UserGuomao Building, a well-established four-star hotel in Hengdian, was my choice for a two-night stay during the Chinese New Year, and I had a fantastic experience. First off, the service was incredibly warm and attentive. The security guard at the entrance proactively helped with my luggage, and the front desk staff not only offered a complimentary children's meal but also provided a detailed guide to the film and television city. These thoughtful gestures, showing genuine care for guests, were truly heartwarming. Secondly, the room facilities were spotless. Despite the hotel having been in operation for some years, the cleanliness standards have not wavered. All amenities were well-maintained and fully functional, and the room temperature was set perfectly, making for a very comfortable stay. Lastly, the breakfast was a highlight. In addition to the standard offerings, they served local specialties like 'Mai Jiao' (wheat dumplings) and 'Mi Guo' (rice cakes). It wasn't just filling; it offered a taste of local culture too.

GGuest UserThe tents are unique, very warm, and even have air conditioning. The soundproofing is also decent, and the valley is quite quiet. There are plenty of outdoor playground facilities for children, a children's castle inside the hot spring valley, and kiln-baked bread and coffee. Parking is limited, but you can drive further in to park on the roadside, or take a shuttle bus or walk (it's very close). Breakfast consists of freshly cooked noodles, rice noodles, and wontons; most other basic items are also available. However, the restaurant seating is limited, so you may have to wait when it's crowded.

GGuest UserDespite the amenities being a bit dated, my stay at Hengdian Yihe Hotel (Qinwang Palace Dream Branch) was thoroughly enjoyable and I would not hesitate to give it a good rating.
The hotel's greatest strength is its unbeatable location. It's very close to the Qin Palace and Qingming Shang He Tu scenic spots, which is incredibly convenient for exploring. While the furnishings are older, the entire property is very well-maintained and clean.
What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff, particularly the receptionist. She was incredibly friendly and patient, answering all our questions and offering excellent recommendations for attractions. Another nice touch was the unlimited supply of bottled water provided by the hotel.
For dining options, we found several Halal Lanzhou noodle shops within a 1.5km to 5km radius. Getting around was easy and affordable using Didi.
If you prioritise modern, luxurious rooms, this might not be for you. But if you value a prime location, cleanliness, and outstandingly friendly service, this hotel is an excellent choice.

GGuest UserStaying at this hotel with kids in Hengdian was a lifesaver! It's right in the town center, so stepping out puts you directly into a bustling commercial area. Eating and getting to attractions were super convenient, no hassle at all. The pink Korean-style room we stayed in was absolutely adorable! The cherry blossom and ancient architecture paintings on the walls, the huge pink bow above the bed, and the fluffy bedding – my child went wild as soon as we entered, and the photos turned out amazing. The biggest surprise was the hotel's dedicated kids' play area, complete with colorful slides and building blocks. My child didn't want to leave, which finally gave us a moment to relax. The lobby also offered complimentary tea and small candies, and the front desk staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was also very kid-friendly. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and it's excellent value for money. Moms bringing kids to Hengdian, just book this place without hesitation! We'll definitely be staying here again next time.

GGuest UserHangzhou, which was more than 19:00, decided to stay in Hengdian for a few days. I contacted the landlord sister and said that I expected to check in at 23:30. I didn’t expect the landlord sister to reply quickly and help find a parking space in advance. I dragged my family out to play with my luggage. It was too heavy and heavy, and it was late and it rained. Miss sister patiently helped to find a parking space, and was really touched. Miss sister also took the initiative to tell us which snack streets and tourist attractions nearby. The most important thing is that the price is really cheap and the price is very high. The room is new at first glance. The cleaning is very clean. The layout is simple and generous, there is a sense of relaxation at home, the sheets and quilts are changed for each guest, the room has no smell, toothbrushes, disposable face towels, hair dryers, air conditioners and other things are all complete, and there is an elevator. You can see the green mountains from the window. I am in a good mood. I also provided some small snacks. We came back from the Ming and Qing Palace Gardens. We were too tired and too lazy to drive.
