"The hotel is right on the beach, just across the road. The children's room was great, with bunk beds and a small tent, which the kids loved. The hotel pool is heated, and it gets quite crowded, but the hot spring is very relaxing. The experience of soaking in the hot spring while watching the sunset is amazing. The hotel has three restaurants: Ocean Hai, Sky, and Docks, all of which are just average. Definitely don't order the beef pho at Ocean Hai; it's terrible."

"The staff was great and very helpful, especially Randy as others have stated.  The location was also great.  However, one of the windows were broken in the room (on the 11th floor) and the cleaning service was terrible.  Upon arrival, we didn't even have hand soap in our room.  They don't clean at all, not even the bathroom nor vacuum.  They just take out the garbage and replace towels.  We didn't even get refreshed supplies like toilet paper, soap, shampoo etc.  Most times we had to get our towels and soap from the front desk on our way in and carry it all up to our room."

"Overall, a decent place to stay. Has lots of potential but work should be given to spruce it up, even though it’s a very old building. Here are my main reasons for the 3 score rating: -great location downtown and near the pier. Super walkable to lots of great restaurants and shopping. -eclectic, cool atmosphere  -no onsite parking -bedding clean but bedframe was very dirty and scuffed. Bed firm but nice enough.  -floors were hardwood and appeared to not have been mopped or cleaned with something that didn’t rinse properly, very sticky.  -water in shower did not get hot, actually barely got warm  -door lock was broken -windows had no screens, shower window fell out when we tried to open it, most room windows wouldn’t stay opened  -tv was attached to a Roku (with only Roku remote) and had no main remote to adjust TV settings, tv was on a stretch mode so you couldn’t watch a movie or anything easily. -staff was super friendly"

"My wife & I just spent 8 days at the Havana Inn, and it was wonderful! Spacious room, great view of the gulf and an awesome staff! Yudit, Emigdio, Demi, Erin and Sonya were out of sight but seemed to appear just when we needed something. This quaint inn is just 2 blocks from shopping and restaurants and steps away from the beach. This is our 10th year staying at Joe's properties and this visit was just as good if not better than the prior visits. We will definitely be making a return trip. :) Sean & Lucretia"

The Luce, St. Pete Beach, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

"We are a retired couple with Marriott Lifetime Platinum status, and just returned from a six night stay at The Luce, on St. Petersburg beach. This property is under the Marriott Tribute brand, and has only been open a couple months. Since it’s so new, there aren’t many reviews yet, so this one will be kind of long. We booked using one night with a FNA+$200, plus five more nights with 250K points. We flew Allegiant from Greenville, SC (GSP) to St Petersburg / Clearwater (PIE), about an 80 minute flight, but was delayed three hours due to weather. We used Uber for the hotel transfer (about $35); a 30 minute drive. It was after dark when we arrived. Check-in was quick. I had requested an upgrade which they provided with a king lanai room. We enjoyed dinner at the property restaurant (Sundrop). We had a lot of questions for the front desk, and they were very helpful. You are given a wrist band for access to your room and other property amenities. It’s important to understand the layout of this hotel. It’s “U-shaped”, with the interior of the U containing a spacious, landscaped courtyard and pool. It’s mostly two-story. The courtyard has many palm trees, places to hang out, bocci ball and corn hole games. None of the rooms have balconies, but the interior first-level rooms have a nice patio (they call it a lanai). On the outside of the “U”, rooms face the parking lot (I don’t think any of these rooms were occupied during our stay). Except for Saturday, occupancy was low during our stay, There are no hallways leading rooms; each room opens up to the outside. The property was severely damaged by Helene; it was completely gutted and rebuilt, so everything is very clean and new. They kept the overall original layout, which actually fits very well with the “Old St Pete Beach” vibe. Rooms are on the smaller side (those with two queen beds are a bit larger, but the extra space is needed for the two beds). I believe they have larger, two-room suites, in the single-story sections closer to the beach. Although not large, our room was comfortable, big enough for the two of us, and nicely-appointed. There’s not enough storage for much clothing - just the nightstand drawers, couple of shallow drawers in the wall table under the TV, and a tiny closet. With six days worth of clothing, we just didn’t unpack all our clothes. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. The bathroom is very nice, with a separate, well-lit vanity. Space under the vanity works well for storing luggage. I found the shower water to be fine, but my wife would have liked it hotter. The king bed was very comfortable; we really slept well. Each room has a large picture window with one-way glass to see out, but not in. Our room had three sets of USB (type A and C) charging ports; however, the “C” type cable plugs did not fit snugly, they kept slipping out of the ports (I tried several cables) so we couldn’t use them.
