"We really looked forward to a breakaway in nature. Unfortunately the manager, Monique and her husband, made us feel very unwelcome. Monique came to check up on us with an aggressive attitude on various occasions. We communicated with her in a calm way and adhered to the rules, but she had a problem with us playing lawn darts, setting up a gazebo and made us move one of our tents which was stading in the stand boundary but according to her too close to a overhead electrical connection. Thing is, the camp map does not show that spot as off limits and clearly shows it as part of the stand. Further, a caravan was standing right under it, but apparently that was not a problem. To top this up, they chose to mow the lawn inbetween tents on the Saturday afternoon of Easter weekend! No one could rest after a morning walk. Even mowing where some people were trying to rest in shade. It is a lovely area with amazing nature, but due to the managements unwelcoming attitude towards us we will not return to this camping site."

"We stayed four nights late September 2025. We have to agree with the several previous posts regarding the unacceptable creek crossing approaching the park - definitely not suitable for vehicles with low clearance, as it is extremely rocky and should be concreted. The previous posts regarding sewerage smell is NOT UNDERSTATED. The men's amenities are disgusting, the stench was terrible, and blowflies were swarming at the urinals. Regular use of disinfectant would help, together with deodorants in the urinal and toilet areas. We are sorry that we cannot give this facility a higher rating than ONE STAR. However, the natural setting and proximity to the Gorge are excellent. Good Luck!"

"​We stayed at Dooley’s Tavern & Motel to attend the local races, and what a gem of a country pub! The beer was ice cold and the food was exceptional— easily some of the best steak we’ve had in a long time. Our accommodation was excellent too. The rooms were modern, big and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Great water pressure in the roomy shower too! And their air conditioning could freeze hell over… What really made the experience stand out though, was the hospitality. The staff were so warm and welcoming. Not surprising, really, when you discover this family have been running pubs in Queensland for three generations. So if you’re looking for great atmosphere, fantastic meals, friendly service and a place where you can park the car & walk to everything - Dooleys at Springsure is it!"
