Relax-Hotel Pip-Margraff ★★★★
"We arrived after driving from eurotunnel, checked in and a male staff member just pointed down the road to an apartment block and thats where our room was, not in the hotel. Not happy. We booked a room with singles (for sons) and a double room. Both rooms were separated twins. We queried it and was told all rooms are twin just push the beds together so we did but still had the gap and single duvets. The rooms were hot, no air con no fan and a window/view blocked out by a wall. The fridge didnt work and wasnt cold at all. We queried this and was told some dont. The photos on the site are deceiving. We werent happy about paying a lot of money to be shoved in a modern apartment block and walking up the street and crossing the road in a dressing gown etc didnt appeal either if you wanted to use the facilities. After complaining again we did get moved to 2 rooms inside the hotel the next day but was then asked to pay another €200!! We didnt even know about this other building and assumed when booking the rooms they would be in the hotel why wouldnt we?. There are no photos of any apartment block on the booking site, so very deceiving and disgusting that we were charged even more. The new rooms were the same, single firm beds and no working fridge. No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities either so you couldnt make a drink in your room. We went and bought one. Any drinks were warm due to a rubbish fridge. We had a view now though and air con. . The wellness centre is lovely although you cant use the sauna, steam room or wellness until 3pm, why that is I dont know.. you can only use the pool and whirlpool all day... so that was annoying. Nothing is translated into english not even the menu they give you when you sit down for the booked 5 course meal. You cant choose either as it is set each night. We had to google translate to see what we were eating. The food was ok and aparagus seemed to appear a lot. No offer of water on the table and any drinks coffee etc are added onto your bill. The breakfast is just continental but lots of choice. The only english sign we saw was by the whirlpool which said, please shower before. Only English no other language at all on this sign.... what are they trying to say 🤷‍♀️!!! Parking is awful.. the young man we met when we arrived said we would have to park in the street somewhere as we couldnt leave it in the public carpark. No mention of any parking disc until i saw it in the info book 2 days later. The hotel building is clean and ok. Location not so much and it was noisy. So much traffic. Still havent found that countrylane in the photos yet🤷‍♀️ The start of our holiday was ruined and stressful. Over priced."
