Faranda Alisas, Ascend Hotel Collection ★★
"Hotel with old and poorly maintained facilities. High price for the service received."
Abba Santander ★★★
"Very near the old town and a good walking distance"
Hotel Picos de Europa ★★
"For example, we had lunch one day at the hotel that offers a discount for guests. We asked for the advertised discount, and they told us that since the receipt had already been issued, they wouldn't honor it. Just something to keep in mind if you take advantage of this offer: mention it as soon as you sit down to eat. Otherwise, everything was great."
Hotel Finca Alcamino ★★★
"It is necessary to know that this hotel is 15min from Santander ...The room was spacious and there was a bathroom with a sweet bath. It was quiet. Know that there is a very good restaurant on the place. There is no lift. GPS found right away."
Hotel Bahía ★★★★
"Very satisfied, but the facilities still need to be updated in time."
Enjoy Santander ★★
"Not a good experience. I tried to cancel a booking more than 1 month in advance, only 9 days after it was made. They refused, just because I didn't pay the extra few euro "free cancelation" fee earlier. I needed to cancel because of some very serious personal reasons, I cannot travel to Spain at all. I asked for they help, and they just decided to keep my 110 euro and give the bed to someone else and get paid double. Horrible experience. Greedy people. We are talking about a hostel bed, not even a room. Canceled 5 weeks prior."
Hotel Sol Boutique ★★★★
"The location was perfect. The room was very cold the first night, even though we turned on the air conditioning, and the bathroom was freezing. There was no bathtub, even though the room type we chose—at least in the photos—and the bed had two mattresses instead of one, also with no option to change them upon request."
Citrea Santander ★★★
"Very friendly welcome. We arrived early (hot and tired) and were able to check in which was really appreciated. Staff spoke good English which compensated for my poor Spanish. Great location near bars, cafes and main shopping street with supermarkets. The hotel is small and stylish so it seemed quiet, even though we were told it was busy. We had two twin/doubles and they were slightly different in layout and decor. Both had aircon, fridges and rainfall showers and were very clean. My daughter and I had a big wet room style shower and bathroom with wooden door. My husband and son had a bigger room but the bathroom had an opaque glass door and shower cubicle. They were pleased with the big TV to watch the World Cup on in the middle of the night and we were pleased we didn't have to! Windows opened if fresh air is required but blackout curtains meant a good night's sleep. Water was provided in the room and in reception. My son uses a wheelchair and was able to access the room and all areas of the hotel via the lift. We didn't choose a disabled room but I believe there are some. The hotel itself is up a slight hill but there is a moving walkway to assist, which was a great feature. We had no issues really. In our room the layout seemed a bit 'quirky' with the clothes rail over the fridge and kettle (which was not near a plug) and the fridge wasn't very cold but, overall, no complaints. The 'city view' was the side of another building but you don't have to walk far to get great views of Santander and we didn't choose the hotel for that."
Hotel Puerta Santander ★★★
"Clean and efficient. Rooms have efficient AC, hairdryer, fridge with water. Window opens which was great. Enough space to have 2 suitcase open as we didn’t want unpack! Free parking. Breakfast ok. Evening meal of Lasagne & meatballs not good ; food was cold and uninspiring. Seemed to have been microwaved."

Hotel Santemar
"Excellent “four star” hotel, Reception Staff helpful, professional and friendly, accommodation excellent. I do feel to pay an additional car parking charge of 15 euros in their underground garage area is frankly an unnecessary extra for hotel guests… parking in the surrounding streets is difficult. Food was just ordinary if a little overpriced, my Veal Entrecôte was mostly good but in parts tough and chewy, chips nothing outstanding, my advice would be to eat out at the many excellent restaurants in the adjoining street. Overall a good four star accommodation but restaurant is lacking due to average food and pricing just on the verge of being to high for what you get."
Dorma Sardinero
"The arrival and reception was not the most correct by the employee, a little confused, later in the stay, there were only greetings, I think they should inform better, for example how much breakfast cost, where the parking is, etc."
Hotel Chiqui
"Lovely place, great pool"
Sercotel El Balcón de la Bahía Suites
"Lovely small hotel. In a great location. 10 mins walk to Old Town. 25 mins to beach. Bus stops directly outside the hotel which is very useful. There are some lovely restaurants and bars within a 5 min walk. I can strongly recommend The Magnolia restaurant 10/10. Some of the best food I've ever had in Spain and a beautiful setting. Book in advance and ask for top terrace. Superb. The hotel pool is small but big enough to cool down in. There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel but breakfast and drinks are provided in your room. A nice touch. You also get a glass of cava while you get booked in. Miroslava ( Mexican) was great. She couldn't be more helpful. The only down side was the room design. The reading lights are too low. If you want to read in bed the only place for the pillows is over the lights. Totally impracticable and very uncomfortable 😕 A small gripe. Would recommend."
Eurostars Hotel Real
"I'll always come back."
Gran Hotel Sardinero
Alda Don Carlos
"We came back to this apartment after having been last year. We noticed that sadly the apartment has been neglected. The fittings were chipped, the the only fry pan was scratched by heavy use and the handle was loose, there was not a chopping board or a sharp knife to cut bread or vegetables, there was not can opener. The water glasses were heavily scratched by over use. The cafetiere was cheap plastic with flimsy lid. We noticed the flower pots outside reception were half dead and flooded in water, chairs in the terrace outside looked discarded and dirty. A general feel of neglect about the place. The cleaners changed bed linen and towel daily but the whole place needs investing in better kichen equipment, mattress, and fittings. The way is at the moment, is expensive and poor value for money."
Vincci Puertochico
"Overall, I was satisfied. The view wasn't toward the harbor as shown in the photos, but rather toward the residential area on the other side, which was actually better in terms of noise. The breakfast could be more varied for a 4-star hotel. It's also a shame that they only offer Nespresso capsule machines for coffee."
Palacio de Arce
"Lovely building old Palace with modern facilities. Free on site parking. Warm and some of the best beds and pillows we have had for some time in travelling . Reception was very warm and welcoming with a smile and very profesional book in experience . Like wise we ate in the evening in the restaurant 1 starter between us 2x Sirloin steaks and 1 desert plus tea bottle of Riberra wine 20 euros . Whole meal 100 euros . The food was very good and the setting also . Special mention for the receptionist and breakfast host we didn't get her name and for Helena who attended us in the evening with a smile and real friendliness. Was much appreciated . The whole experience was a delight and if it wasn't full we would have stayed another night . Room with breakfast ( which was very good Spanish style no hot food ) 60 something euros . We wanted gluten free and lactose free and all was provided . We hope to visit again when we are in the area on our way to the ferry port 20 mins away and easy to find with sat nav: We were in room 106, lovely and warm too. Highly reccomended we also found a good Tapas snack bar The Oxford a few minutes away and several restaurants not to far away one Hostal Del Pericote we didn't eat there but it looked good with good reviews . The Oxford a few minutes away we had a lunch snack Potato Tortilla and a Jambon Boccarillio 2 teas 7 euros , they also do a menu of the day 16 euros . Hope this helps you all. Great 24 hour experience , thanks all in Spain for that . "
Las Carolinas Garden
"Great location and very easy to find. Has secure parking (8 euros extra). The hotel is very relaxed, clean and tidy, with charm and character. The receptionist (Lavinia) speaks excellent English and also helped me with my Spanish. We really felt nothing was too much trouble. We had a few drinks in the gardens before heading to dinner in a local restaurant. There are several restaurants in easy walking distance. The room itself was simple, but clean, fresh and tidy. It had a fridge with bottled water. A great nights sleep, and a lovely shower. Lovely soft towels and two pillows each. Breakfast was traditional Spanish, but with fresh baked bread, the seeded brioche being my favourite. We will definitely stay again."
Posada la Morena
"Small hotel with a beautiful view over the coast. At night we could hear the crashing waves. The beds were very comfortable. The room a little worn in places but it is characterful. Lovely beds, warm welcome very pet friendly. Lots of walks. €10 each: Breakfast of an omelette, hot drinks, juice and toast. We requested gluten free bread which was provided. €7 each. Tasted delicious: Secure car park in front of hotel. 20 minutes drive to Santander ferry. This will be our go to stop when catching the ferry. Thank you"
Apartamentos Alday
"It's the second time we go. This time we went for 2 nights and the two-bedroom apartment is quite good. The only problem is that it was a bit cool. They told us that the heating was at 21 degrees. The spa is quite good, although now you have to pay 10 euros per person to enter (previously it was included in the price). The bath towels are too small, and you can hear the elevator and the train a lot, since the track is next to the apartments. Still, we will probably repeat if we go through that area. Next door is a fairly large shopping center, and a restaurant where there are many first courses to choose from and many main courses for a very reasonable price. The girls at the reception are very nice and the maintenance guy is very attentive and very nice."
NH Ciudad de Santander
"Quite old and expensive but close to restaurants and sites."
Hotel Los Angeles
"Everything was great, the room was super spacious with a balcony. The staff was very friendly, parking was free, and it's only 10 minutes from the center of Santander by car!"
Hotel Arha Santander
"I can't remember a worse hotel in my life. I don't understand how IMSERSO (the Spanish government's social services agency) continues to offer this hotel. Breakfast and dinner were meager and poor. Dinner was served at a fixed time. If you're not careful, you'll go hungry. Ceiling tiles in the bathroom were falling off, the wardrobe was broken and covered in paint stains, the bed was rock hard, impossible to sleep on. Door bottoms were gaping from the dampness of the mop. There were no electrical outlets. I had to unplug the TV to charge my phone. The toilet was loose and wobbly. There was a dangerous outlet a foot away from the toilet, plugging in a heater that didn't work and whose underside hadn't been cleaned in years. In short, the worst hotel of my life. I've read similar reviews and complaints to mine, and IMSERSO seems oblivious, and to top it all off, it boasts three stars. UNBELIEVABLE!!! 😡🤬😤"
Apartmentos Santander Maliaño Suites 3000
"The service was terrible, the attention was awful, they were disrespectful to me, they were liars, and we will never use their services again. Booking with them for even one night was the worst decision we could have made; I would have preferred to sleep in the car!"
