Pretty hotel, the building is a beautiful old house. Very quiet, as it is located in a small lane. Only 5 minutes walk to subway lines 10 and 11. Ideal connection in all four directions. The rooms are small, but that was alright for me. When booking, I read "no window", but in fact there was a window, just with view to another wall. That was ok for me, especially considering the very attractive price for my stay.

We love this hotel! It's so atmospheric; we always stay here when we visit Shanghai. The coffeeshop outside is a very nice place to hang out and the staff is considerate.

The place is quaint and cosy, especially the hallways and the building, the rooms are a bit more basic. It’s a foreign Shanghainese villa, so the atmosphere is there. Despite the area being very quiet there was a droning noise so I couldn’t sleep, they said it was from the water heater on the roof. The staff was very kind and understanding and they moved me to another room without any problem. Really big points to the staff and the vibe of the place! Another thing, if you’re staying there during winter, the AC was not enough to warm up the room, it was quite cold.

1st floor rooms very noisy. Noise coming from the hotel operation, not from other guest. Can sleep maybe after midnight to 6 AM or so. Too noisy for me, I went out for few days to another place. The courtyard in front of the place is nice. Net connwction so and so, not for real work. Location is silent. Good restaurants need some walking, but not too far. Somewhat difficult to find. They should add a bit better view how to find the place.

There are also large bottles of these in the bathroom of the room, but considering the hygiene problem, I still think that small bottles are better, which is very considerate. The room hygiene is average, the general direction is OK, but the small places are not so good. However, this is a common problem of many hotels, so it is not included in the advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantages: The room is relatively small, the bathroom does not have dry and wet separation, the sound insulation is not good, and the air conditioner is not small. It is understandable that the room is small, after all, in Shanghai where every inch of land is valuable, but it is still a bit inconvenient without a large table, and two small coffee tables cannot hold too many things. The bathroom is not separated into wet and dry areas, and there is a height difference to show the separation, but it is not so big that the whole bathroom will be flooded when taking a shower. Poor sound insulation and loud air conditioner are the biggest problems. You can hear the voices talking in the corridor in the room. As for whether you can hear the people next door, I don’t know. I slept very comfortably at night! I will come to Shanghai often in the future, and this hotel is my place to stay in Shanghai!
