The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed and near to Shanghai Disneyland. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from.
The pool area was well-maintained and a great place to relax.

We celebrated a birthday in Pudong and picked Shangri-La as an impromptu destination. It was a Perfect location for leisure and nice dining. The staff was also kind enough to offer a complimentary birthday drink and fruit. The room had a Nice open view balanced between the city and the river. The Cozy bedding was good, too. The final visit to the jazz bar was really nice. The bar had THE VIEW, and the staff were very friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We enjoyed the stay. We Will definitely come back next time.

Great views from the lobby and from the swimming pool and sauna. Keep in mind that you need a swimming hat for the pool! Also if you think to book this hotel with for great night views, don’t do it. All windows, also at the rooftop bar, will get condensation or something in between or on the outside so you will not see anything.. during the day the views at are great.

The IFC Residence Shanghai is a perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and comfort, making it an excellent choice for both short and extended stays. Located in the heart of Lujiazui, Shanghai’s bustling financial district, it offers unbeatable access to the city’s landmarks. The IFC Mall, directly connected to the residence, adds to the convenience, providing a wide range of dining, shopping, and entertainment options just steps away.
The spacious rooms are beautifully designed, offering modern amenities and plenty of space to relax after a busy day. The attention to detail in the rooms, from the fully equipped kitchen to the luxurious bathrooms, ensures a comfortable and hassle-free experience. The view of the Shanghai skyline, especially from higher floors, is simply breathtaking.
This wasn’t our first stay, and it certainly won’t be our last. The consistently high level of service and comfort makes the IFC Residence a place we’re always happy to return to. Whether you’re visiting Shanghai for business or leisure, this property offers an exceptional experience in an unbeatable location. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at a fantastic hotel and had an amazing experience. The staff ( Fo Heidi ) were inredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The room was spacious and confortable, and the amenities were top-notch. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay .The hotels location was perfect for exploring the city. It was close to all the major attractions and there were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. I loved being able to walk around and take in the sights without having to travel far from the hotel .

Out of the many hotels I have stayed in on all continents (except Antarctica) in almost 70 years, this ranks right up there for its really outstanding accomodation and breakfast buffet, and at an almost unbeatable price. Huge rooms (incl. bathroom), lavishly and tastefully furnished, everything very practical, simply the best. Outstanding breakfast buffet with attentive service, very pleasant atmosphere in the seating area (and throughout). This is not an ultramodern hotel and it is not on the Bund, but kept in best nick and thoughtfully modernized. An additional advantage: It is not hugely busy (though this might be bad news for the proprietor).

Disappointing Experience at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai
I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from the luxury service I expected.
1. Discrimination at Flair Rooftop Restaurant
On my first night, I visited Flair, the hotel's rooftop restaurant. Before going, I was told at the lobby that the restaurant operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations. However, when I arrived at around 5:50 PM, the restaurant was only 20% occupied, yet the host told me it was ”fully booked.”
Then, the host questioned my intent, asking whether I was there for drinks or dinner. When I said ”dinner,” he suddenly mentioned a 1,600-yuan minimum spending requirement. I agreed without hesitation and ended up spending over 2,200 yuan. But what truly bothered me was the initial rejection and the selective enforcement of the minimum charge, implying that I was being judged based on my appearance or nationality. If the restaurant was truly full, why was I offered a table once I confirmed I would spend a significant amount?
2. Misleading Room Upgrade Offer & Hidden Promotions
When I checked in, I had already booked a suite with a city view for around 4,000 yuan. However, the receptionist tried to upsell me a Pearl Tower view for an additional 3,300 yuan, which is an unreasonable price just for a different view.
What’s worse is that she failed to inform me about an existing hotel promotion: (cant remember the amount exactly) If I pre-purchased 1,000 yuan, I could use 1,400 yuan at Flair rooftop restaurant. I only found out about this the next day and when I asked whether I could retroactively apply this promotion to my bill (which was charged to my room), I was told it was not possible because I had to buy the package in advance. Had I known about this offer beforehand, I would have gladly used it. Instead, the staff prioritized upselling me a more expensive view rather than informing me of real benefits available to hotel guests.
3. Concierge Service & Taxi Nightmare
The service at the concierge was another major disappointment. I had a reservation at a Chinese restaurant across the river and asked the concierge to arrange a taxi for me. Knowing that taxis in Shanghai can be unreliable and tricky (as I had experienced the night before with an airport taxi taking me to three wrong hotels and turning off the meter), I was relieved when the concierge used Didi (a ride-hailing app) to book a ride.
However, when the car arrived, the concierge instructed a bellboy to walk me to the car, but he never confirmed whether it was actually mine. Just as the door was closing, a woman with luggage rushed in, claiming it was her ride to the airport. It turned out the car was not for me but for an entirely different passenger!
At this point, I was already late for my dinner reservation. When I walked back to the concierge to ask what happened, he seemed irritated and dismissively said, ”Don’t worry” before reluctantly walking me to the correct car. This lack of professionalism and carelessness was incredibly frustrating. If you’re arranging a ride for a guest, ensure they get into the correct car.
Final Thoughts
This all happened in just one night—I can't imagine what else could go wrong during my stay. I sincerely hope no other guests have to go through such an experience. The Ritz-Carlton brand is known for its luxury and top-tier hospitality, but what I encountered was discriminatory treatment, misleading sales tactics, and poor service coordination.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their service, ensuring all guests receive fair and professional treatment, regardless of their appearance or nationality.
Ps: nice swimming pool by the way!!

Service: There was barely any service, and the staff lacked passion and hospitality.
Room: A standard and clean room, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
QT Dinner Set: The food was average, but the dessert was perfect.
Breakfast: Disappointing, can you imagine no fresh juice, and the coffee was watery and tasted bad.
Location: Conveniently close to several shopping malls.

TTIN WAIMy son is an Ultraman fan and he loved staying at this hotel and enjoying at this theme park, similar level of excitement comparing with his last visit to the Ultraman hometown in Japan. Despite there were some communication issues happened between the hotel and Trip.com, both teams tried their best to solve the issue and support us. Special thanks to the Trip.com lady (sorry that I forgot to ask for her name) who spoke with me several rounds for exploring solutions. Heartfelt thanks to Mr. Roger Yao (the manager on duty of Ultraman Hotel in the afternoon on 05Apr) who successfully made my son happy again after a disappointment. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThis is the first choice for taking children to Disney. There are shuttle buses and subway stations, and the experience is great. The location is good and the surrounding travel is convenient. The environment is elegant and the lobby is exquisitely decorated with style. The room is clean and tidy, with complete and intelligent facilities. The bedding is comfortable and you can sleep well at night. The service staff is warm and thoughtful, and they are responsive. The food is rich and delicious, and there are many breakfast options. There is also a mini bar and a headband for free. It is a perfect travel accommodation recommendation
LLion-heartEverything is wonderful here or so morning book face very impressive with Sushi and very fine dishes. also moved with service to the airport.
GGuest UserThe hotel is truly exceptional — everything from the service and design to the views and amenities is top-notch. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely return.
The only disappointment was our experience at the Jin Yan restaurant. While the interior design is breathtaking and unlike anything we’ve seen before, the food fell short of expectations. The quality simply didn’t justify the high price. We’ve had far better-tasting Chinese cuisine at much simpler places for a fraction of the cost — sometimes five to seven times cheaper.
Still, the hotel overall was outstanding and left a lasting impression.
AAnonymous UserIf you're just looking for the accommodation, the facilities and design are excellent.
But if you prioritize service, I highly recommend it; the hotel lacks service.
First, regarding breakfast, even though the place was packed, there were no waiters to show us to our tables. It was a complete mess. Many items were unavailable and not replenished promptly, and there weren't even any boiled eggs. We had to go back to our table to order noodles, but there was no QR code or menu. After finally finding a waiter to order noodles, we waited 30 minutes and asked twice before they arrived. The beef noodles were already a bit cold.
Second, the hotel's robots aren't designed to deliver food to guests staying in the hotel. I reported this to the manager in the lobby, and they said I could just make a note when placing my order. I told them I had the delivery driver bring the phone and tell them, but they wouldn't let me deliver. They insisted I walk downstairs to a dark, vacant building to pick up my food. The manager then argued, ”Just make a note and we'll deliver it.” I countered, ”You were standing inside when security stopped the delivery driver. How did you know I made a note?” The lobby manager then became a bit impatient (in short, the hotel's service is practically nonsensical and illogical).
Third, the room still had a strong smell of newly renovated furniture. The internet was slow, and the cell phone signal was poor.

Ffamily of four exploreLovely stay on the 43rd floor.
Lovely room with very comfortable slippers and robe.
Executive lounge was nice and the afternoon snacks and drinks were very good
The breakfast eggs that were freshly made were very nice but the buffet food was only luke warm.
Staff were wonderful and very friendly.
Overall a very nice stay
GGuest UserThe rooms are spacious and bright, with luxurious interior decoration without losing warmth. Each room is like a private paradise for guests to relax. The professional service and technical level of the hotel staff are trustworthy. They can quickly and effectively solve various problems and provide security for guests. The hotel has a variety of convenient facilities, such as an indoor fitness center, to meet guests' leisure and health needs and enhance the overall accommodation experience. The hotel's breakfast service is rich in variety, from hot breakfast points to exquisite pastries. Not only are there a variety of varieties, but the taste is also excellent, providing guests with a perfect start.
GGuest UserA very good stay experience. I went to Mercedes-Benz to watch Dan Yichun's concert. I saw that this hotel was very close. I thought it was under InterContinental and it was guaranteed. The experience was very good. The package of the group was very cost-effective. The breakfast was very clean and tasted good. We communicated in advance about the lunch in the package, and changed it to a midnight snack for us after the concert. We packed it and took it back to the room to eat. The room was also very clean and tidy. The lady at the front desk also upgraded our room.
I will stay here again next time I go to a concert

TThomasThe hotel is in a very good location in the center of shanghai. We were quite excited to sleep in one of shanghai's most famous Towers. The room was very clean, the interior was a little run down (squeaking doors, big scratches on the floor, damaged silicon of bathtub), but everything worked fine. The view was obviously breathtaking!
Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed by the english level of the reception staff. I would have expected differently at a hotel of this status.
