The surroundings were stunning and peaceful, making it the perfect escape from the city. The service was absolutely five-star; everything was spotless and thoughtfully designed. Even the bathroom had massage features, which was such a luxurious touch. Every detail made me feel completely relaxed and taken care of. "I love Charlton house, it was really quirky. The way it has been styled is really unusual. It makes you feel like you're in a bit of a fantasy world with the little corridors and quirky little nooks and crannies. For me it fit the bill, it did the job that I needed but I understand for those people that do not get it on an offer and pay a lot of money to stay there I understand how they might say that it's a bit dirty a bit tired a bit grubby and needs a bit of TLC. There seemed to be one very sweet man that was running around doing pretty much everything and the rest of the staff were hidden behind doors or just not there. I'm not sure. There were staff present in the spa and they were lovely and helpful and kind. My little room was gorgeous and cute and cozy, and clean enough although tatty in places. For me I really had a nice day and I would definitely come back. The breakfast was extremely basic but I didn't have extremely high expectations, and I'm not really a breakfast person, so again it may not make the tick box for others but it did the job for me. Manor House Inn

"We had a fabulous two night stay at The Manor House, visiting with family and using it as a base to explore Somerset, including Hauser & Wirth and a lovely walk to the nearby vineyard. Rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully finished, with lovely touches such as homemade cookies on arrival. It was a real treat waking up to racehorses trotting past the window each morning. Food was excellent, hearty full English breakfasts and accompanying turmeric shots every morning to delicious fish and chips and pizza for dinner. The service was consistently warm, friendly, and attentive, which made the stay even more enjoyable. A truly welcoming and well-run place, we would happily return."

"New owners still a great hotel. This is our go to hotel as a base we were gutted it closed…but now reopened although we were not a lover of where the reception was as took some original features away and menu needs work I know with tweaks we will still come back"
