Datong Hotels with Airport Shuttle

"We stayed in a clean modern apartment in a high-rise building. Everything worked as expected. We had a good view towards the south suburban area of the city, but just outside the apartment next to the elevators, we could get a good view on the city center — especially nice at night when the city is lit up. The staff at the reception (located in a restaurant just outside the apartment building) was kind and helpful not only with managing the reservation itself but also helping contact a tourist attraction. We had dinner at the restaurant where the reception is, and can recommend that too, both for great local taste and very cheap prices."

"The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient city. For dining: Xi Jin Dao is downstairs, Fenglin Pavilion is a 10-minute walk, and Long Juxiang offers delivery directly to your phone. Every time we took a taxi back to the inn, we'd get off at Huayan Hotel and walk two minutes. The popular Heshengcai is a 10-minute walk (though the taste was just so-so, and none of the pastries even had an ingredient list). For sights: Huayan Temple is a 5-minute walk. I visited Shanhua Temple at night, which was about a 15-minute walk. During the May Day holiday, there were only about 10 people in the entire temple at night, so we could enjoy a peaceful visit. On the way back and forth, we also saw the city wall's light show and passed through a lantern festival. Rumeng Datong (Dreams of Datong) was also within walking distance. Service was great too. On our last day, we had to leave for the train station at 7:30 AM, and the owner even packed breakfast for us. The lamb offal soup with vermicelli every morning was delicious. The furniture is all elm wood. The loft family room was perfect for our family of three. The only downsides were that the room rate was expensive during May Day, and the bathroom design was a bit impractical."

"The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the city center, making it easy to get to both the ancient city and commercial areas. Parking was also convenient for those arriving by car. Great value for money! The rooms were clean and tidy, with a good separation of wet and dry areas. The soundproofing was also decent. The butler was warm and patient, always ready to answer any questions, which definitely enhanced our positive impression of Datong."

"Ok so here is my Honest review of this brand new hotel in Datong. I understand this is a brand new hotel so I hope this could help as a honest review. -Staff are helpful even for foreigners. They do their best to accommodate your questions and are very friendly. -Rooms are clean with all the necessary amenities. -Rooms dont smell like cigarettes/smoke unlike gmost other hotels. -Rooms are fairly spacious. -location is good, its still a fair 15-20min walk to alot of the sights such as the wall or the drama play but it is close to the fortress wall down south. -WIFI is very good, great signal. Things that i think need working on - The hotel is a little bit difficult to find, i dont recall seeing a sign, maybe becsuse it is brand new. I had to go into a neighbouring hotel to ask if it was the correct one and they helped me call this hotel and actually guided me here. - Although it says I have a courtyard window it is actually facing inside (as the rooms are undeeground) and the window is facing the hall way lol. - my biggest complaint is the lack of toilet roll, i was given one roll (which is fine) but the next day they didnt replenish it resulting in me running out...luckily I always keep tissue with me (A must in china for the public toilets) - As its basement level its hard to pick up reception on your phone. Overall, value for money I think is great for the location and the cleanliness. A few things to work on but its understandable for a new business."

"I chose Nan She for both of my trips to Datong, spaced about twenty days apart. The first time was by chance, but the second was a deliberate choice, both reflecting my high appreciation for every aspect of Nan She. It's located right beneath the North City Wall of the ancient city, close to Daiwang Mansion and Kuixing Tower. Its proximity to the main road makes getting around very convenient. The entrance to the North City Wall is just a few minutes' walk away, offering a superb spot to watch the sunset over the ancient city. The breakfast at the guesthouse is absolutely delicious. The rooms are spotless, and the bedding is clean; every detail is perfectly executed. The overall service is beyond words – attentive, warm, and thoughtful. Choosing the right accommodation is a crucial part of enhancing the travel experience, and both of my stays here provided an excellent one. Datong is a city you'll want to revisit; the more you get to know it, the more you'll love it. The blend of history and modernity, delicious food, and beautiful scenery offers endless appeal.
