Mercure Petriolo Siena Terme Spa Hotel ★★★★

📍 Localita Petriolo Pari, Bagni di Petriolo, Civitella Paganico

"There is no free pool!!!! Even if you don’t want to have the whole spa thing, you still have to pay to access the pools! Not included in room prices! This was quite upsetting, but the restaurant was great and the place itself is awesome!"

"It's incredibly old, even older than I expected. The bathroom was incredibly uncomfortable, making it difficult to wash. The parking staff were very helpful. The location is excellent, allowing you to walk right into the ancient city."

Residenza d'Epoca Palazzo Borghesi Hotels in Siena

Residenza d'Epoca Palazzo Borghesi

"The whole house had a nice ambiance, looked luxurious, and had a great location with a good breakfast. However, the appliances in the room (one was the refrigerator, and another, I don't know what it was, made a very loud noise) all night, which disturbed my sleep. Another big problem was that for those driving, parking requires reservations; you must contact the hotel in advance. Their front desk doesn't open until 3 PM, and we didn't receive any prior notice. We stopped before reaching the ZTL restricted area, called, and they said we could drive in, only to find out later that we entered through the wrong gate, resulting in a ticket of about 80!"

Hotel Santa Caterina

"Very, very good! I looked at the pictures on Ctrip before and felt it was very ordinary. I was very surprised after checking in. Because I stayed for three consecutive nights, the triple room I booked was upgraded to a suite with two bedrooms, two living rooms and two bathrooms, which was huge. The view outside the room window is very beautiful. See Figures 1 to 4 outside the living room window, Figure 5 is the view of the public area, and Figure 6 is the living room. This suite cannot be booked online, but can be booked by email or phone. It is really worth it and highly recommended! The hotel is located just outside the gate of Siena. If you drive by yourself, the ZTL in the city cannot be driven in, so it is very convenient to stay in this hotel. It takes 2 minutes to walk to the city gate and more than ten minutes to walk to Piazza del Campo. The hotel has parking spaces, which need to be paid separately."

"Another hotel in an old building. My research wasn't perfect beforehand. I didn't realize this hotel was located in the old town; cars can't drive in, but you can park elsewhere. The hotel provides a map. Pushing my luggage up from outside the city was really tiring, as it was all uphill, taking about ten minutes. The location is indeed excellent; Siena Cathedral is right next door. This is the second hotel in Italy where I got three keys! Haha, Italian hotels have so many keys! The mini elevator is only for luggage; you have to climb stairs, thankfully only two floors. It's a winding path through four or five doors—very medieval, isn't it? I booked a two-bedroom room. The room and bathroom were large, and the bedding was the most comfortable I've ever had. My mother's room had a problem with the air conditioning; it was cold. I had my own room, which was very warm. The shower water pressure was great, very good. The street is right outside the window. It's quiet at night with few people. In the morning, I opened the window and saw parents taking their children to school; the old town felt real at that moment. I stayed one night; Siena is perfect for a cirywalk. It was wonderful."

"What can we say??! After a long car & train ride from the Amalfi Coast, we arrived late in the afternoon at this charming boutique hotel in the heart of Siena & were warmly greeted by Maria Luisa. She Made us feel right @ home, showing us around this lovely hotel. We booked well in advance & so were able to obtain the coveted Room #5 with the amazing terrace over looking the Duomo. The breakfast buffet is wonderful & the setting makes it even more so. If you are ever in Siena, make this your home away from home. You won’t be disappointed."

"Probably the best location, with parking and access by car, and the closest proximity to the historic part of the city. Simona kindly met us in the parking lot and showed us to our room. It's a two-story building, with a small lobby, common areas, and rooms on the second floor. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. By 11 p.m., the square had quieted down completely, so we slept well. In the morning, breakfast was delivered right to our room. It was basic but filling (we ordered it the night before). We were happy with everything, and we recommend it."

"I had a wonderful stay. The location was magnificent, just steps from Piazza del Campo. The wonderful Amina was wonderful, kind, and smiling. The room was impeccably clean, completely renovated, and equipped with every comfort (for example, slippers and a hairdryer with a diffuser, which, for someone with curly hair like me, is a real plus). The place was very quiet despite its central location, and the bed was really comfortable. The only downside: the external elevator and the landing to get to your floor. The first trip was strange, but then you get used to it... just so you don't have to climb the stairs! The building is old, so you can't expect too much; in fact, the elevator really added that little something extra to our pleasant Siena experience. All in all, a truly wonderful experience."

"1. Location: About 20 minutes to Siena Square, quite close to the city walls, and about a 10-minute walk to the train station. 2. Facilities: A kettle is available upon request; a small refrigerator is in the room; mosquito coils can be obtained from the front desk. 3. Room: Double bed + single bed, hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel in packets, towels provided. 4. Environment: Overall quite nice; there are many restaurants on the next street. Room service must be requested daily, otherwise towels will not be changed. 5. Breakfast not included."

"The location is not far from Piazza del Campo, it can be reached in 10 minutes by bus. I stayed for one night and it was clean and tidy. If you don't have dinner at the restaurant, there is a place nearby that makes very good pizza. It would only be better if there were slippers in the room."

Mercure Petriolo Siena Terme Spa Hotel ★★★★
"The best hotel experience we have ever had. The rooms are awesome, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the pools and spa are perfect, and the prices are reasonable. Only on point to bear in mind, you must have a vehicle because you will either walk or get a taxi that will ask for 100+€."

"Accommodation in the heart of Siena's old town, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The building was old, but the rooms and bathrooms were clean. During my stay, there happened to be a university graduation ceremony, filling the entire town of Siena with a joyful atmosphere that lasted until late at night. The town is quite large and worth spending a whole day exploring its architecture."
