"A Long Overdue Review — and Worth Every Word I’m late writing this review, but I’m so glad I’m finally getting around to it. Jade Mountain is, without question, the best hotel experience I have ever had. Hands down. We visited in October 2021, at the tail end of the pandemic — back when we were still testing before flights and wearing masks. While the process of getting there was daunting, the moment we stepped onto the island and were whisked away on a seven-minute helicopter ride to Anse Chastanet, greeted with a sweet, fruity cocktail, my friend and I both knew we were in for something extraordinary. BEFORE BOOKING My friend had married in 2020 but never had the chance to properly celebrate, so I reached out to Anse Chastanet (Jade’s sister resort) to see if I could surprise her with a room upgrade that included a pool. The team there went above and beyond: while the only pool suite at Anse was already booked, they graciously upgraded us to Jade Mountain with a Sky Sanctuary suite. Although the Sky Sanctuary doesn’t include a private pool, the staff made sure our experience was even more special. They arranged a private swim and drinks session at the Jade Mountain Club infinity pool, located at the top of the resort’s main restaurant. My friend was floored — she had never experienced anything like it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our Major Domo (butler), who walked us through every detail of the room and ensured we felt completely at home. THE ROOM At first, I wasn’t sure about the idea of an open-air room — but once you see that view, you wouldn’t want a wall blocking it either. Our suite was divided into four elegant areas: an entryway and small seating area, bedroom, bathroom, and living space. Everything was spacious, serene, and beautifully designed. Each day, we received a Bento box of special treats, an iPad to browse menus and book spa treatments, and a dedicated phone to reach our Major Domo anytime. He kept us effortlessly on schedule — confirming dinner reservations, arranging excursions, and coordinating rides up and down the hill between Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet Beach (perfect for when we didn’t feel like walking). The room even came with tote bags for beach days — a thoughtful touch. EXCURSIONS We made the most of our stay, enjoying: A full-day sail with Captain Kerwin A Lionfish Tasting Dinner with wine pairing A Botanical Garden Tour Rum Tasting A Volcano Tour And some incredible snorkeling Each experience was seamlessly arranged and worth every minute. THE FOOD Every meal was outstanding. You have so many dining options, and it’s worth planning ahead since some experiences are available only on specific days or times. The Jade Mountain Club is reservation-only and exclusive to Jade guests — a must. Do note that certain premium proteins have a small upcharge even with the all-inclusive plan, but honestly, who flies to Saint Lucia for steak? Stick to the seafood, and you’ll be in heaven. "Stayed here for 9 nights. Great location just on the edge of town.20 minute walk. Apartment was clean and functional. Good air con and shower. Small balcony overlooking other buildings with a distant view of the pitons, but it was fine. Actually very quiet at night. Communication with the owners was good and small issues dealt with quickly and efficiently. Executive for a budget stay"

"Our room (family room) was very large, with separate living room, and two bathrooms with showers. Balconies and a nice view of the mountains. First two floors of the building are a mall and offices, with hotel upstairs - our room was up four flights, and with no elevator, that meant significant effort getting our luggage up there (and back down when we checked out). There is no dedicated parking. Finding on-street parking for our rental car was not hard, but actually getting into the parking spots, with very narrow streets and sharp ditches between road and sidewalk, was sometimes challenging. Staff were very nice, very helpful. Note that there is no daily servicing of the rooms, so if you need something you go to the desk and ask for it. Desk is staffed during the day but they are sometimes out for hours at a time, so you cannot predict when someone will be there; night guard is sometimes able to get things also, but doesn't always know where they keep everything. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked very well, and there were just enough power outlets - I wish they had a few more, but there were enough. Wifi, though free and without a login portal, was very bad quality, often slow or cutting out for a minute or two at a time. Mini-fridge was broken when we got there, they replaced it promptly when we asked. Second mini-fridge worked, but was quite small (so was the first) and weak: Things didn't really get that cold, and took a long time to get cold. Small freezer compartment could not freeze water, even when set to maximum. Sinks are small and very shallow, so you can't even fill a standard 16oz bottle with water - you cannot fit its mouth under the faucet. We used a smaller water bottle we bought, to refill other bottles. No microwave, but there is an electric hot water kettle."

"Modern, comfortable, spacious, and clean. The prompt and friendly support by the host (though contactless via WhatsApp) was an extra plus. We stayed at unit 4 and were very happy with it. Worth the money and absolutely recommendable."

"Stayed 7 days in Calabash. Highlight for us was the Pitons view. Perfect to enjoy the delicious breakfasts & then sunsets after days out and about. Location is well situated just above Soufriere and about 20 minutes down to our favorite beach Anse Mamin (also Sugar & Paradise) for snorkeling and long lazy beach days. Bradley very helpful in renting us a car and meeting us at and dropping us off at the airport (1 hour away). We are glad we rented a car to adequately explore (we've driven in the Caribbean before os uses to some rough side roads etc.). All of the staff were so warm and welcoming - from breakfast delivery to daily pool cleans and daily house keeping. Bed was comfy with good pillows - fresh towels daily, if wish. Monica left us a bottle of wine on arrival which was really nice after a long day of travel. Wifi was a tad glitchy, water pressure low at times (pump issue being fixed), and there are local dogs in the hills below, but that is par for the course for the Craibbean. It felt wonderful to be nestled in the lushly planted hillside looking at Gros & Petit below our own mango tree (be prepared for them occasionally dropping on the roof).The charm of the room & pool were not lost on us. Just make a reservation in the popular restaurant Tree Tops in advance - maybe for 5pm to enjoy sunset. Squeezed us in for an 8pm the day we aeeived though. We will miss that view & those breakfasts!"
