Hotel Indigo Hainan Clear Water Bay draws inspiration from the idea of an “Ocean’s Treasure Boutique,” reimagining the ancient marine lifestyle of the Dan people through the lens of contemporary minimalism. Designed by the acclaimed Mr. Yang Bangsheng and his internationally awarded firm YANG Design Group, the hotel embodies a poetic dialogue between island charm and neighborhood storytelling.
Inside the hotel, pearl-inspired lighting casts a gentle glow, while blue-white tones and coral-hued furnishings echo the natural palette of Hainan’s reefs. Guestrooms fuse modern art trends with traditional Li brocade weaving and rattan craftsmanship, vividly interpreting the Dan people's dual lifestyle philosophy of “farming the sea and living between land and water.”
At the hotel’s Intrigue Restaurant, local Hainanese flavors meet modern culinary innovation to deliver creative dining experiences. A range of resort facilities — from a Lazy River and Infinity Pool to a Spa, Children's Club, and The Fit — provide well-rounded relaxation. Through curated neighborhood experiences led by local "neighborhood hosts," guests are invited to explore Lingshui Old Street, Coconut Island, and traditional intangible cultural heritage, gaining deeper insight into Hainan’s history, culture, and human stories — all in true Indigo spirit.
"1. **Hotel Design**
The Indigo's design is truly unique and exceptionally beautiful in every detail. Every shot you take here looks like it belongs in a magazine. Unlike other hotels that all look the same, every frame here is like a painting, so you don't have to worry about getting good photos.
2. **Infinity Pool & Heated Pool**
The outdoor pool is a highlight here. The upper infinity pool is fantastic for photos, while the lower pool is heated to a comfortable 28 degrees Celsius. During the day, you're surrounded by blue skies and white clouds, and at night, the stars twinkle as if you could just reach out and touch them. The kids absolutely loved playing in it, and we didn't have to worry about the water temperature at all.
3. **Wood-Toned Kids' Play Area**
The wood-toned children's play area is incredibly well-designed, feeling premium and far from plasticky. With 1100 square meters of space, there's a wide variety of activities. The kids had so much fun they didn't want to leave! There are also many craft activities.
4. **Value for Money**
The Indigo and Kimpton hotels are co-located, but the Indigo is significantly more affordable than the Kimpton. Although the Indigo doesn't have a traditional main lobby entrance and requires entry through a side door, all public facilities, including the pools and children's play area, are shared. So, staying at the Indigo is definitely a better deal and offers excellent value for money!
5. **Exceptional Service**
The front desk staff who checked us in personally escorted us to our room, explaining the hotel's features along the way. During check-in, they even gave each of our two children a pair of foldable sunglasses. All the staff members were incredibly nice."
