"Four of my siblings and I started our family adventure at the Taleton Guesthouse. We were graciously greeted by Carolien and were made to feel like we had arrived home. It's a beautiful setting and we were treated so well. The rooms are perfect and extremely clean. We left for the evening and entered by the back of the guesthouse, and when we returned the setting reminded us of The Sound of Music gated area where the family was hidding. It was magnificent. The breakfast in the morning was an experience as well. Delicious and wonderful variety."

"I booked a junior suite and my stay started with the best impressions since they upgraded my room to a superior suite without any cost. Nevertheless, the hotel has many flaws. First with the good staff. Impressive installation, beautiful space and rooms, very friendly and polite staff. The flaws unfortunately surpass these good staff. I am talking about these flaws because of the 5 star status of the hotel and always compared to other 5 star hotels I have stayed and of course considering its price. The room has no heating inside the bath so you have to have the door of the bathroom open in order to heat it with minimum effect. The breakfast is one of the worst compared to all the 5 star hotels i have stayed. Very little variety, most of the choices simple and easy to find in a 3 star hotel. We entered the breakfast room at 9 o clock and most of the food was already finished without any refill and there were only 3(!!) people eating at this time. The spa had a sense of abondonment since there were water coming out from doors of the hammam and some machines out in the doorways which made the floor very slippery and dangerous to walk. When we told about this problem they told us that this is normal(!!!). Also no music or other means of relaxation that we usually find in other spas and also no lockers (with keys) to place our belongings that we were forced to have them with us all the time. The menu of the restaurant was nothing special with little imagination. Overall this is a clean and comfortable hotel but it is not worth its price and surely it is not near a 5 star hotel."

"Our family traveled to Vamvakou to visit our yia yia's home village. It was an emotional experience for us, and the hospitality at the Ruga guest house was exceptional. Angeliki and Takis helped us with our arrival instructions and bags. Nota, made a wonderful breakfast, and helped us with any questions we had about the village. If she did not know the answer, she called someone and fount it for us. The rooms were immaculate. We stayed in Marigo, which has a wonderful balcony, where we could gaze out on the village and listen to the birds sing. Tsevoula was a cave-like room, which was a really special place to sleep. Both rooms had a wet bar, with reasonable prices. There were no problems with the rooms. Thank you everyone for making our stay special! Donna Sheedy and family"

"The resort clearly qualifies as number one destination in Sparta vicinity. It has obviously been built in an olive tree orchard, maintaining most of the trees, and its design has succeeded to fit perfectly in the natural environment. From an architectural aspect, it seems flawless and very appealing. All the facilities are maintained at a very high level of quality and luxury. The staff is friendly and efficient, assuring a pleasant stay. Needless to say that the room and all public spaces were super clean, as if the resort had opened its gate a few months ago. As for the breakfast buffet, there are no words to describe it. Simply perfect and delicious, both in quality and in variety of options! Can't wait to try an all inclusive stay next time, to check out their cuisine, which will probably be perfect, as everything has been in our recent stay. All in all, a wonderful experience, highly recommended!"

"We went to the pool, they charge €15 per bed/chair, nothing included. If you want a towel it is another €5. Other hotels/resorts in the area include a drink and towels in the price. We were 5 adults and 2 kids, chairs, lunch, and a few soft drinks was over €170. The only reason we came is because the other resort pool was sold out. I don’t know how this place is still open or doing business, must be a front for something. There was barely anyone there and I didn’t see anyone staying in the hotel."

"This is a magical place! I spent 10 days doing various treatments, classes and hikes. Everything was excellent, the treatments first rate and I learned so much. There is an indoor pool are with all types of whirlpools that is subline! My room faced the forest and was peaceful and well designed. Housekeeping came twice a day. Food was gourmet and delicious. The only issue is that after 10 days with a menu that does not really change except for an evening soup and fish special it gets repetitive. Some days there was no soup special and most days it was a fish soup so if you a not into fish soup that was disappointing. They do have the best granola and Greek yogurt in the world. The property is located a five minute walk from the village of Mystras so if you want to change of scenery, this is a nice little adventure. Highly recommend!!"

"Absolute beauty in the fir trees! Excellent band! A little paradise, filled with all kinds of trees and plants in the heart of the mountain! Scattered houses, fully in harmony with the green environment of Taygetos! Everything works perfectly! The reception area with very beautiful decoration, the breakfast room in the same area of ​​the hotel, with very nice furniture, attentive to all the details, from the crockery to everything it offers. Great variety and all handmade and all delicious (especially the cheese pie, crepes, rice pudding, dakos, bacon and of course Mrs. Katerina's pancakes)!!! The restaurant, in another area in the green with a beautiful view of the pool and the mountain, with a long list of food, wonderful salads, stews and of the hour in a wide variety. Mr. Sarandos is very kind and friendly! In the pool everything works as it should, Ilias is perfect! At the bar, towels for everyone, cleaning, service. Everything to perfection! The rooms are comfortable, very nicely decorated, with very nice linens and daily service. The staff in all areas are very kind, helpful, fast and smiling! Incredible and continuous cleanliness in all areas! And of course, from the hotel there is access to the paths of Taygetos, Magganiari spring, refuge, etc. A simply wonderful resort!
