Perfectly fine hotel. Breakfast was a bit on the lighter side, mostly sandwiches and yogurt. But you definitely left feeling full, and the setting was pleasant. The rooms did what they needed to do. Small shower with the sink located outside, between the shower and the toilet. The beds were a bit firm. Great walking distance to Alexanderplatz.

pod was clean and decently comfy, yes the mattress is abit thin but it was still alright! noise level was minimum apart from the guy in the pod below snoring one night.. but if you are a light sleeper hostels arent for you anyways! toilets were amazing, i loved that there was a combined toilet+shower which felt very private 🙏🏻 mirror in the pod was really useful too. would 100% go back 👍🏻

The hostel was clean, the staff were friendly, and the facilities were good. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The only downside is its location. It is quite far from the city centre, so tourists should be prepared to spend a fair amount of time travelling to and from the main attractions.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great hotel in a very convenient location, close to Berlin Hauptbahnhof. You can easily walk from the main train station, or take a bus if you prefer. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent with a great selection. The price was also very reasonable considering the location. Overall, a great choice for staying in Berlin. Highly recommended!

Great location and 24-hour front desk for check-in anytime. The rooms are standard and meet expectations for those looking for an affordable and convenient place to stay. There's no hairdryer or kettle in the room, but you can request them at the front desk. The hairdryer requires a 20 Euro deposit, payable by card or cash, which is fully refunded upon return. The only downside was that there was a game on that evening. We asked the front desk staff and were told that to stay in the bar area on the first floor, we needed to order food or drinks. However, a large group came in later with various outside food and drinks, made no purchases, and were not asked to leave. It felt like we were tricked into buying something, so I hope their policy on this can be clearer.

I stayed in a capsule room, specifically one with 16 capsules. It was pretty quiet at night with no one talking, so the guests were very considerate. The capsule doors open with a card and can be locked, which was super convenient for leaving personal belongings inside while I went out. There were also extra lockers available. Inside the capsule, there were two USB charging ports, one Type-A and one Type-C, which was very handy. If that wasn't enough, there was also a power strip outside the capsule. You do need to make and unmake your own bed. Regarding the washrooms: There are two large bathrooms. One has a shower and a toilet, and the whole room can be locked, though it did have a bit of an odor. The other bathroom has two toilets and three shower stalls. The toilets can be locked individually, but the showers only have curtains. If you're looking for a good price and some privacy, I highly recommend the capsule rooms. However, I wouldn't recommend coming during hot weather as there's no air conditioning and ventilation inside the capsules is just okay.

This is a very big hostel with hundreds of beds, though it did not feel cramped or loud. I had a quiet stay.   I stayed for 2 nights in a mixed dorm with three bunk beds and en-suite. The toilet and shower are separate which makes use easier. Hanson’s and shower gel is included, as is a hairdryer.   The room is spacious with tables and seating areas, this is also of use to those who on the top bunk who cannot sit on their bed as easily.  There is a mirror though a lack of hooks being only a hook and couple of hangers. The bed is of a metal frame and thus I was able to apply my travel straps and hooks to create places to hand my coat and bag. There is a locker big enough to take hand luggage sized bag (own lock needed).  The bed has a usb port for charging and a slot into which a phone will fit, though no individual light. The room has two lights and it is possible to turn on only one; the other people in my room came in and out at unsociable hours though we’re all respectful being quiet and also putting in the main light.   The mattress and pillow are comfy enough, you need to collect linen and make the bed yourself.  Everything was clean.  Reception is 24 hours though checking us via one of the 4 automated screens. It is through the machines that you do check in and pay tourist tax and the machine prints paper with your allocated room and bed number. You even activate the room card yourself. There is a sign in the desk with a map of blocks with room numbers in each one. That is all the welcome that you get; there is no explanation related to hostel layout or facilities. I had to ask in which direction to go to get to my block, the receptionist gave my directions and once I got to the room and found no bedding on the bed so went back to reception. The check in computer screen states that bed linen is provided free of charge and towels can be paid for at reception. The receptionist did not give me any bedding nor point to where to where to pick it up some thus I assumed the linen would be laid on the bed as in other hostels. The next day a person arriving in the room asked where he gets bed linen, he also did not get given any bedding even when talking with the receptionist. I do find it odd that you are expected to ask for the bedding: as this is the case I recommend updating the wording on the computer screen as it is ambiguous and gives the impression you only need to ask at reception if needing a towel.  There is a guest kitchen which has basic equipment: fridge, sink, microwave, 2 hot plates, 2 frying pans, 1 saucepan, some plates, bowls and some cutlery. There was one mug in which I made a cup of tea by heating water in the microwave. I recommend a kettle to boil water. The kitchen is sufficient for simple meals, making breakfast and sandwiches. I did not try the hostel breakfast.  There is one common area near reception with a bar and possibility to purchase food. Vending machines there. WiFi reliable. The common room can feel cramped when groups are there. There is good security as all entrance doors and lifts use card access. To access the guest kitchen ask at reception and they update your card.  The location is very good being 5 min walk from Ostkreuz train station. It is a direct line to Messe Nord where the bus station and FlixBus stop is. Easy to get public transportation into the cities. There are many shops, supermarkets and eating places nearby. Vegan kebab shop directly opposite.  Good value for money. I had a comfortable stay with no difficulties and I would stay again.

I stayed one night at A&O Berlin Mitte during a solo trip, and once again, it proved to be my favorite place in Berlin. I chose a twin room and was really impressed: the room was spacious, clean, modern, and very comfortable. It's not a luxury hotel, but it offers everything you need for a pleasant stay, with excellent value for money. The facilities are welcoming, the staff is helpful, and the location is convenient for getting around the city. Every time I return to Berlin, I choose this hotel and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for practical, comfortable, and reliable accommodation.
