AAnonymous UserThis place is a little piece of paradise. Away from the hustle and bustle and is quiet and calm. The beach is a few steps away. Although it’s not a swimming or tanning beach, you can make the most of your time there. I found a quiet spot on the beach and still enjoyed every second of it. The staff were all so friendly and go out of their way to help you and meet your needs. The breakfast was lovely! A variety of choices, that fill you up for the day of adventure ahead. The villa itself is large and spacious. The pool is just enough to cool off after a hot time on the beach. I will definitely be back when I’m in Samui again!

GGuest UserI stayed at Arkbar for 2 nights and unfortunately, it was a very mixed experience. The positives: The location is definitely great—right on the beach and close to everything in Koh Samui. Check-in was quick and easy. The facilities, especially the pool and beach area, are nice and lively during the day. The negatives (and they outweigh the positives): Noise: Sleeping here is nearly impossible unless you’re planning to be out partying all night yourself. It’s not just the music (which I expected), but the guests—people shouting in the hallways at 3am and again at 6am, waking me up both nights. Cleanliness: Honestly unacceptable. The bed sheets were stained, had hairs, and even bugs. The bathroom was filthy—handprints on the mirror, used cotton buds on the floor, and grime in the shower. I called to have it cleaned, but they only changed the bed sheets. Customer Service: When I told the manager about the room at checkout, her response was just “sorry, no one told me,” which doesn’t really cut it. Only after I mentioned leaving a review did she offer a “free breakfast voucher”—which was a joke, as it didn’t even cover a full meal and drink. Restaurant: Speaking of food, I tried the avocado toast with poached eggs and it was the blandest thing I’ve ever tasted. Overpriced, underwhelming, and disappointing overall. No discounts for guests at their own bar or restaurant either, which felt stingy considering the prices and what you get for it. For the amount of money I paid, this was absolutely not good enough. Unless you only care about partying and don’t plan to sleep or care about cleanliness, I’d recommend staying elsewhere. Would not recommend.

GGuest UserThe hotel is lovely overall and in a great location. The breakfast and rooms were excellent, and the beach is beautiful for swimming. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend staying here due to our experience with the reception staff at check-in. There was a mix-up with our booking—although the room name matched, the photos and description of the room we had booked via Trip did not reflect the room we were offered. The hotel acknowledged the discrepancy but refused to assist. It appeared that the issue stemmed from incorrect room descriptions and photos listed on Trip. We contacted Trip immediately, but they were unable to reach the hotel. In the end, Trip refunded us the difference (plus compensation), and we paid to “upgrade” the room. However, the hotel staff were completely unhelpful despite acknowledging the error. Their attitude was very disappointing. We asked to speak with a manager, but were told they were off duty and unavailable/didn’t want to talk to us—no alternative or acting manager was offered, which was surprising. For this reason, we wouldn’t stay here again unless customer service improves and the hotel takes more responsibility for issues arising from their listings with booking agents. Trip confirmed that the photos of the room and description have been updated. There are a few additional points worth noting. While the beach is lovely, there is occasionally some oil and significant rubbish (which we understand is not the hotel’s fault although they could make some effort to remove the litter). It would also be great if the pool opened earlier for morning swims and they could provide conditioner in the bathrooms (there are generous amenity trays but no conditioner). One major concern is the use of beanbags on the beach, which appear to leak polystyrene beads without any effort to contain them—this is quite harmful to the environment. Improved table cleaning would also help reduce the number of flies. When we came down for breakfast the tables were laid but also full of crumbs (even if we were the first ones). The hotel has MANY signs stating that reserving sunbeds is not allowed and that unattended towels will be removed after 30 minutes. We respected this policy, but unfortunately many guests ignored it—reserving sunbeds early and leaving belongings there all day, even when not present. No action was taken by staff, which made it difficult for others to find available seating. Either the policy should be enforced or removed, as it currently puts compliant guests at a disadvantage. Overall, while the rooms, breakfast, and location in Lamai are hard to beat, the lack of customer service and poor policy enforcement significantly impacted our stay. If these issues could be addressed it would be a fabulous place to stay!

GGuest UserExcellent vacation at a great hotel. The sand on the beach is fine, like powder. The attentive hotel staff set up sun loungers, and there are enough for everyone. It's only 30 meters from the room to the beach. We didn't even bother with slippers. Each bungalow has its own foot wash tap. Breakfast is served by the sea. The menu varies (but it's not a buffet). There's a central store a 5-minute walk away, and a nightclub nearby.

DDaria ZinovevaI am delighted! Nice, cozy place. The staff is super polite, like in a luxury hotel. There is a swimming pool. The room was very comfortable, smelled nice. The only thing was that there was an unpleasant strange smell in the bathroom. And maybe the room could be painted a little. And I was a little upset that they changed the roofs, they are not like in the photo in the description, I really like this natural design. There is a refrigerator, umbrella, water, air conditioning. The beach is not far away. I was very pleased. I recommend!

BBokovThis isn't my first time staying at this hotel, and it has a convenient location. The breakfasts are good, and there's a pool and gym. They also offer a shuttle service. The staff are welcoming and always ready to help! There's a Supercheap right next door and a 24-hour laundromat. Several 7-Elevens are nearby. Beach access is across the road, past Seen restaurant. The new Heavens mall with Tops supermarket is also close by. The road past the hotel leads to the local Walking Street and Central Festival.

步行 | TravellerThe positive thing about this place is that it is extremely centrally located on Chaweng beach with walking distance to the beach front and the big mall nearby, with plenty of restaurants and easy access to tours and transportation. The staffs are friendly and the house-cleaning seems to be great also. There are some downsides, however. 1. The breakfast was extremely crowded especially in the morning with very very limited options. I once saw about dozens of people simultaneously handing tickets for the only chef at the egg station, which resulted in very long wait time (I didn't even get the food, they lost the ticket). 2. The other guests are extremely loud at all hours of the day even deep at night. The hotel should really implement a quiet hour policy. 3. There were also a lot of trash on the beach in front of the hotel and no one is bothering to pick it up. All facilities are massively over-utilized and the entire place feels crowded. 4. The room felt very old and (understandably) damp, with very poor Wifi reception. The overall Wifi reception at this hotel is poor and occasionally the Wifi is just completely down. 5. The restaurant was on the expensive side. You do have to walk a bit to find more reasonable prices (for me).

Ttj17This hotel was an okay place to stay, the bed was comfy and the location is alright. The shower pressure isn't the best and there aren't any curtains. But for the price in koh samui it is good. Picture is from central samui mall.

DDokStefPleasant Stay with Excellent Service in Chaweng I recently stayed at Lotus Friendly Hotel in Chaweng with my wife and baby. The hotel boasts cleanliness and spaciousness, with daily room cleaning ensuring a comfortable stay throughout. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing us with valuable information. One of the highlights of our stay was dining at the hotel's restaurant, which offered delicious Mediterranean-style cuisine. The restaurant staff were exceptional, making our dining experience truly memorable. They were also incredibly friendly and accommodating towards our baby, which made us feel even more welcome. The hotel's location was convenient, with a Seven Eleven and several restaurants nearby, making it easy to access essentials and dining options. Additionally, the beach was just a 2-minute walk away, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful coastline effortlessly. While the city center was a bit further, a 20-minute walk provided an opportunity to explore more of Chaweng. The only minor downside was the noise at night, which is perhaps typical of the vibrant atmosphere in Chaweng. However, this did not significantly detract from our overall experience, as the hotel's other amenities and exceptional service more than made up for it. Overall, I highly recommend Lotus Friendly Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Chaweng. The combination of cleanliness, spaciousness, excellent service, and convenient location makes it a top choice for travelers. We look forward to returning in the future.

GGuest UserGood morning! I'm staying at this hotel from February 2nd to February 8th. The location is simply superb! 👌 Breakfasts are standard, and there's a 7-Eleven nearby if you need coffee or sandwiches. However, the hotel itself is completely rundown!!! The bedding and towels are in terrible condition! If you appreciate comfort, then this is definitely not the place for you. All the plumbing is broken, and the water in the shower doesn't drain!
