Townhouse Tropea

"My wife and I stayed 9 nights at Townhouse Tropea. From the start everything was above expectations. Paolo the owner’s son picked us up at the airport. On the ride from the airport, he provided us information about Tropea and its many offerings from the Beaches to the Restaurants. It is a hotels job to make your stay enjoyable. The difference about Townhouse is they did it out of true caring for their guests not because it was their job. We stayed in Room 202. We had a nice balcony with a partial view of the Sea. The location is the best. Everything you want from the beach to the many fine restaurants are not more than a 5-minute walk. The shower was excellent with instant hot water and plenty of pressure. The a/c was also good. The room was well appointed with a mini bar, desk, sofa and Queen size comfortable bed. The hotel has a solarium on the roof to enjoy your morning breakfast. You must get their breakfast it is a wonderful bargain and Ayelene who was always smiling and pleasant is there to prepare your style of coffee and prepare fresh eggs. The buffet has all you would want. You can also go to the Solarium in the evening with a bottle of wine and look over the Town of Tropea. In the full season they also have a bartender in the evening. Sara cleaned our rooms. I guarantee you cannot find anyone who does a better job. The room is spotless. The room is cleaned early it was completed no later than 11:30. Sofia works the desk and always greets you with a smile and a Buon Giorno or Buona Sera. She is there to answer any questions you may have. Just a quick note about how caring and professionalism of Townhouse. I had a medical issue and Paolo had a driver pick us up and take us to the hospital. He checked in at the hospital to see my progress and had someone drive me back to the hotel. He checked in the following morning to see if we needed anything. This is an organization that cares about their guests. We can’t wait to return to see our friends"

"I wouldn’t even call it a hotel. It is in a residential building on the ground floor and is a number of flats knocked together. It reminds me of a youth hostel. The beds were cheap and soft. It had marks on the linen. It was bright and modern. It had no balcony to sit on. The view from the window is a derelict building site. They charge £147 a night. There is no pool. You get a tiny TV with nothing else to account for the price tag. We paid upfront for three nights and they refused to refund a penny. We left without staying a night and moved to a real hotel, with a pool and balcony and a sea view for less. We could not get out of there quick enough."

"this small hotel is modest, with rooms ranging from quite small to spacious with large, expansive balconies, was perfect for us. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. A delicious breakfast buffet was available every morning up on the upstairs balcony., which is open to all guests all day – but the highlight is around sunset. You can purchase drinks at the bar, or just bring your own, which is what we did. The room service is very efficient, clean linens, comfortable beds good air conditioning. it’s not brand spanking new, nor modern, but very moderately priced at a good value. we enjoyed being able to walk a few stores up the road to the supermarket to buy food, alcohol, and munchies for the beach. We could walk just a few minutes down the hill and be right on the beach. you have a choice of the public beach areas, or you can rent a set of beach lounge chairs and large parasol for anywhere from €15-€20 per day. Tripa offers a slew of good restaurants that are within 5-10 minutes walking distance,. The only drawback to note is that there is no elevator from the ground level up one flight to the lobby and rooms level, but the desk staff offered help if needed. if you are not willing to pay for five star luxury, but are looking for a comfortable, clean, reasonably priced accommodation, this is your place! we were quite OK with our very small room without a balcony, because we really only slept here and spent most of our time outside on the roof balcony, in many restaurants downtown Tropea has to offer, or all day at the beach."

"Spent a week here. We had a room on the first floor with a walk up loft bed. The B&B is well located, near the main piazza and a short walk to all the restaurants and top of the stairs to the beaches. All we can say is that the staff were all marvellous. Friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. As with all period villas, there's some minor issues but where it counts, staff, breakfast, location this ticks all of the boxes. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and Interactions with lovely people. "
