"The place is very nice and comfortable. The only problem is the wifi. Very poor connection, we couldnt even watch movie on netflix. We just hope they have a better connection, other than that, we enjoyed our stay and the nice view of the river."

"Enjoyed every aspect of our overnight stay. Great staff without exception. Incredible view of the water hole with African animals frolicking by the setting sun. Loved lazing by the pool in the afternoon (us, that is, not the animals!), enjoying a drink and watching the incredible spectacle. Beautiful sunrise safari. Guide Daryl was excellent. Wonderful experience. Look forward to returning!"

"Great dog friendly place for a night while travelling. Super clean, great shower, easy to find & exceptional service!! Highly recommend! Note, if booking with Trip & have your fur baby, make sure you message the motel separately as the special requests info doesn’t get transferred & they need to give you a pet friendly room. We were lucky there was no issue & they had a pet friendly when checking in, could have been another story if they hadn’t had the room."

Barossa Brauhaus Hotel

Barossa Brauhaus Hotel ★★★

📍 41 Murray St, Angaston

"This was my first time staying in an old-fashioned hotel like the ones I'd only seen in movies and novels, and it was a great experience. The upper level is downstairs, and the guest rooms are upstairs. The guest rooms have been modernly renovated but retain some of their original character, making them quite unique. The hotel was clean and tidy. Crucially, one of the young staff members, Dean, had been to Chengdu, China, and spoke Chinese, which made me feel very comfortable. The accommodations I booked through Ctrip these past few days were all several tens of RMB more expensive than those on Qunar.com. I guess I got ripped off by a familiar traveler."

Motel Riverbend
8.5 (85 reviews)

Motel Riverbend ★★★

📍 39 Princes Hwy, Tailem Bend

"Is in a good location and short drive to the convinience stores/ otr. Motel itself is nice place to stay. The rooms are okay if you are spending one night. Basic amenities were given. Has a microwave. But truckies do stay often in this motel so you would get a bit of nuisance like lots of ciggarate buds and beer bottles around at night. Switched on the bathroom exhaust and it started sucking in the ciggarete smell from outside."

Monarto Safari Resort ★★★★
"Overall our stay at Monarto Safari Park was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. They let us check in early given our room was ready and they got us a table ready quickly for dinner because we had a very tired child we needed to feed and get to bed. The staff clearly wanted to please and I would highly recommend people stay at the resort. It is clear that the hotel is still newish and the team are not as experienced or knowledgeable in some aspects as you might expect. We visited the spa to see the options when we arrived but were told that the spa treatments were booked out for the days we were staying. I had a conversation with a team member on the desk before I booked and I was told that the spa is great but she didn’t mention that I should pre book. We learnt that people come just to visit the spa even if they aren’t staying at the hotel so it then made sense why it was booked out. I was able to book an hour session in the Soak house which allows you to use the following for 1 hour- Hydrotherapy pool, sauna and cold plunge pool. This was really lovely and came with a drink and a fruit platter with chocolates. The staff in the spa were lovely- some were clearly inexperienced but wanted to please. The spa (including soak house) is only for over 16’s so if you are a family you can’t attend the area together. We did both the dusk and dawn tours and enjoyed them both. I would recommend people rug up for these, especially with a beanie as the best experience is with the windows open and it’s pretty cold. Personally I think the half an hour stop just at the end at the sundowner could be cut out as both tours are around meal times and getting back to the hotel to eat would be more beneficial. This stop would be more worthwhile if animals were fed nearby that we could see close by. On the morning tour the giraffes were given a branch to chew on but you needed binoculars to see them. The food options were good with restaurant, casual bar and in room dining available. The menus aren’t extensive but we found food options we were each happy with. One of us is GF and dairy free and this was catered for easily. The breakfast buffet was ok with standard options. It didn’t make me wish to rush back but it had good hot and cold options. The weather was nice while we were there but it wasn’t warm enough to use the pool for any of us. The pools are heated but not quite warm enough. They would be if you wanted to do laps but not for just splashing around in. There are 2 pools- an adults only pool and a pool for all. The pool where children were allowed had disabled access….as did the safari buses which was great to see. We stayed in a triple room with one queen and a single bed overlooking the waterhole. The room was clean and had everything you might need for a short stay including a small fridge, hairdryer, Nespresso coffee machine, and ironing board/iron. The beds were firmer than I’m used to but we found them very comfortable. The "

"For a 4* hotel, its pretty great. Good location, good staffs! But shocked on the cleanliness as we received a stained towel and wanted it to get changed but was placed back in the toilet. Other than that, a great location to stay for a break!"

"It is a two-room suite. There is a microwave and a kettle, two cups, a few forks. It is still possible to have a simple breakfast. The rooms are large and each has a bathroom. Health conditions are OK. Suitable for family self-driving, passing by and resting. The front desk service is good and the explanation is detailed."

"Stayed last year and everything was as booked, check in was easy, room was bright, warm and bed was comfy.. Sharing bathroom was never an issue as there are 4, still clean and new, spout needs tightening in third bathroom. Will stay next time I'm down. Oh had dinner too, everything was tasty and good price for a small schnitzel which is all I wanted."
