Grand Madison Wuhan Hankou on the Bund Reviews

The hotel looks like it does in the photos: a very pretty colonial building on the outside and very well decorated on the inside. The room we had was very comfortable and it was very nice of the hotel staff to give us a free upgrade to a slightly larger room. The location is great, right next to another significant colonial building and the pedestrian street. It is also close to a wharf that has ferries to the other side of the river which you can take for ¥1.5 and it will get you to the famous bridge and within walking distance of the Yellow Crane Tower. There is a nice rooftop bar / restaurant, we did not eat there but went up to take some photos.

Love the design of this 112 year old hotel. We were charmed by the facade and interior of the 112 year old building. The Hankou Riqing International Firm Building was built in 1913 in the Renaissance Style with a distinguishing Byzantine styled tower at one corner as its outstanding feature. It is 36 metres in height and has 4 floors. It was originally used as a office building for the Riqin shipping company. This historic building was renovated during the construction of the Jianghan Road Commercial Pedestrianisation Scheme in 2000. A big thanks to the lady at the reception called Shylie who went out of her way to assist us to book the Apollo Go Self Driving Taxi. We had to goto Hanyang District to catch the taxi and we couldn't book the taxi ourselves as we don't have Wechatpay so Shylie offered to help us. Love everything about the hotel. Location is great as it is next to the Jianghan Shopping Street

Always this hotel provide the best services. It is not my first time there and certainly not the last. I really appreciate that they kept my T-shirt that I forget in the room last month, and the front desk said that they were looking for my contact to send it to me. The hotel is very central and the area is a tourist hot-spot with tourist boats, river ferries walking streets and so many other things walkable. Consequently, it was incredibly busy and noisy up to about 11pm. The room was reasonably soundproof, and the balcony was great to witness the street and river life below. We did not take breakfast as they were clear it was Chinese style only. So we had takeaway from the Starbucks opposite and sat on the balcony, perfect! Bed was clean and very comfortable, bathroom small and clean with a great rainfall shower and a range of free hygiene amenities. Staff are very helpful despite language barriers. Roof top bar spacious and intimate so plenty of privacy to enjoy the evening and see the riverside lightshows.

First time visiting Wuhan, very good stay here. Super convenient location, beautiful historical building at affordable price. Very warm service, staff sent us umbrella when checking out in rains

The hotel itself is great, comfortable and well-maintained, but the service was disappointing. During check-in, there was a small miscommunication as my family had misunderstood some information. Instead of helping us clarify, the reception was rather impatient and even insisted they didn’t understand English, which made the situation unnecessarily stressful. My booking also included a complimentary tea set and coffee. The “tea set” turned out to be just a single piece of cake, which already felt underwhelming. Worse, when I tried to redeem the coffee, the staff simply told us not available, without offering any alternative or solution. Overall, while the facilities and hotel itself are good, the service experience really fell short of expectations.

Very enjoyable stay. Classy looking building with republican era style decor. Friendly staff. Breakfast spread was delicious too. Hotel is conveniently located by the road where cabs are plenty, and near the start of the Jianghan pedestrian street where you can find lots of shops and food options that open till 11pm or later. A bit of distance to the nearest metro station, but very walkable (if a bit crowded). Convenient store is just around the corner for that last minute or late night store run. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade my room to one with a view of the Yangtze river and clock tower. I even managed to grab a sunrise photo one morning. Overall, I'm very pleased with my stay.

Good location - close to the river and pedestrian district and also not too far from the next metro station. We had a very nice room with balkony. For breakfast there was a huge selection. And last not least: the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel truly excels in every aspect. Its prime location places you within easy walking distance of the charming pedestrian shopping street and the magnificent riverfront. The room is spotless and complete with every amenity. Most impressively, despite being nestled next to a bustling shopping district, the superb soundproofing ensured a perfectly peaceful and quiet retreat. Topping it all off, the impeccable service from the staff makes for a genuinely exceptional experience.
