"This is a slightly tired hotel, in need of a refurbishment. Some of the rooms are tiny. On both our visits we found the hosts to be fairly charmless. We had a good, but not great, meal. Nice swimming pool, but it is a short walk up the road. In summary, okay, but not much more."

"The hotel location is far away from downtown Sens, and there is hardly any public transportation. The rooms are decent, the breakfast is chargeable and not worth the money. Only saving grace is it is located in area with multiple restaurants from french to asian and other fast food chains, and located conveniently in an area with multiple shopping options. Although this is the best you can manage in the small town"

"We enjoyed a 2 night stay at the hotel La Mitigana. The room was very comfortable, breakfast buffet offer was excellent and the staff extremely welcoming. They even provided a delicious cold meal for us when we discovered the dining room was fully booked one lunch time and then closed for Sunday evening. We would definitely be happy to stay there again."

"We had to "stay" three rooms before finding one that had a working air conditioning and a TV in working order. However, the staff was willing and able to overcome these inconveniences."

Château de Vault de Lugny

"This is a beautiful castle. However, the hotel inside is a disappointment. The cheapest room is still outrageously expensive but small and has no charm at all with uninspired furniture and a tiny TV. No spa, just a small, stuffy indoor pool with some jets. The bar features a severely limited selection and an amateur bartender charging high-end prices. Breakfast was OK but served in an uncomfortable room. Service is a mixed bag from friendly and helpful to indifferent and snooty. The only redeeming feature is the park and terrace with a majestic tree. It seems the hotel is living of its "1000 Places to See" fame, attracting many unsuspecting English speakers, and of its truly excellent, Michelin-starred restaurant. There are much nicer places to stay in Burgundy."

"Day 16 of my 21 day road trip through France and this is the best so far, great greeting from Gentleman on reception who could have not been more helpful. Sorted my parking, booked a restaurant for me evening meal ( being a Tuesday the hotel restaurant was closed) and served me a welcoming pastis on the terrace. Immaculate room at the top of the hotel With stunning views across the village and beyond. Excellent buffet breakfast, not the cheapest but worth every franc/euro/dollar/ pound. Thank you"
