Gulong Stay Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) I recently stayed near Gulong Canyon and had a wonderful experience overall. The area is surrounded by lush green mountains and rivers, so the views are absolutely stunning, especially in the early morning with mist in the valley. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and had a rustic charm that fit the natural setting. The main attraction — the glass bridge and skywalk — was breathtaking (and a little scary if you’re afraid of heights). Staff were friendly and helpful, though English was limited, so having a translation app helped. Local food was fresh and tasty, especially the river fish dishes. One tip: bring comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some steep climbs. It’s best to visit on weekdays to avoid heavy crowds. Would I come back? Definitely — especially to enjoy more hiking trails and maybe try the zipline next time.

The hotel is in a quiet street but still very close to all the main attractions. Our housekeepers, Lynn and Yalina, were so helpful and sweet. They helped us contact drivers last minute when we couldn’t get a DiDi, buy attraction tickets and were very accommodating to even our small requests. The view from our hotel room in building 8 were gorgeous and the hotel room was well stocked with snacks and very clean. We would stay here again if we came back to Yangshuo! The hotel also gave us a complimentary photoshoot. Our photographer Xiao Mo took gorgeous photos for us and they looked great even with no editing.

Found a super convenient place to stay right in the heart of Guilin. The hotel is located right at the entrance of Zheng Yang Pedestrian Street, so you step out directly into a lively atmosphere. The parking lot is just a 200-meter walk away, and if you contact them in advance, they'll even help you with your luggage – the whole process was very thoughtful. The room was clean and elegant, with city views right outside the window. The service was attentive, and the facilities were comprehensive. Every moment spent here felt comfortable and reassuring.

1) This hotel is literally situated on the China-Vietnam border. From my room window, I could see Vietnam, and the front desk even warned me that if I had an iPhone, it might pick up signals from the neighboring country and my time zone could change. The rooftop observation deck offers an even better view of the border scenery, encompassing both Dongxing in China and Mong Cai in Vietnam. 2) When I booked on Trip.com, I specifically requested a non-smoking room, and the hotel front desk truly delivered! The floor and room were genuinely free of any secondhand smoke. Honestly, in a fourth-tier city in (what is arguably the world's number one country for secondhand smoke), this was a rare and pleasant surprise. 3) It's quite close to the Dongxing Port, just a 5-minute walk away. If you want to experience the charm of a border town right from your room, and if you appreciate clean room facilities and fresh, natural air, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Upon check-in, the front desk attendant upgraded my room to the 49th floor. The view is fantastic, offering a panoramic sight of the Liujiang River, and the night view is equally stunning. The room size is decent, though some facilities could use an upgrade. For instance, there's no master switch by the bed, so I had to get up to turn off the lights before sleeping. The curtains aren't automatic, and the bathroom only has a handheld shower, no rainfall showerhead. They also only provide two bottles of water. Overall, the service was good; the front desk lady accommodated my request for a late checkout. For breakfast, the gravy for the freshly made Guilin rice noodles was quite tasty, but the self-serve Chinese fried rice and dishes had limited options. The location is excellent, away from the crowded Wuxing Street area. However, Poly Plaza and the snack street downstairs offer almost all of Liuzhou's local specialties, including luosifen, tapioca pudding, and duck legs. It's also very convenient to catch a taxi to tourist attractions.

The hotel is new and the service is excellent. It's very convenient, and they even thoughtfully provided disposable bath bags and toilet seat covers. Downstairs, you're right by the river, and next to a night market with street food and a pedestrian street. You absolutely have to try the complimentary wheat bran hair wash – it seems to be a specialty of Liuzhou, with hair salons everywhere. I paid extra for the family combo, which was incredibly comfortable and great value for money. The travel photos turned out amazing, highly recommended! The family room was on the 2nd floor. I thought for such a high price, we'd get a higher floor with a river view, but the upside was that the kids' ball pit was right outside the door, and my child had a fantastic time. The floor-to-ceiling windows at the 12th-floor bar and the outdoor balcony at the 13th-floor restaurant offer a great view of the musical fountain at night, helping you avoid the crowds downstairs. The only downside is that the hotel gets busy, and the restaurant is a bit small, so there were no tables available during breakfast peak hours. If I get the chance to visit Liuzhou again, I'll definitely stay at the Wyndham.

The view was awesome as shown on picture. Room size was sensible. The front desk lady has helped quite a bit in liaising with the local tour agent, but the tour leaflet on desk was quite misleading (with/ without bamboo raft) and lead to mismatch in expectation and also due to language. Suggest the leaflet to be very clear and detailed of items and attractions included.

Traveling through Baise on my trip to Yunnan, I saw Wyndham in my search results and it looked good, so I booked a king room to share with a friend. It was a bit quiet and empty when we checked in, but all the staff at the front desk were very welcoming and warm. It really brightened up my tiring journey! 😊 They even specifically gave us a room with a great view and location. The room itself was really spacious, and the bed was wide enough for two people to sleep comfortably, and super soft! There's an indoor heated pool and gym on the second floor, both free to use. The only downside is that there's no self-service laundry, but I heard the hotel is planning to add it. If I come back, I hope that service will be available – that would make it perfect! It's also very close to shopping areas. This place is great for a slow-paced, relaxing life. Highly recommend! 🥳

The location is quiet yet convenient for getting around, not too noisy but still easily accessible. **Cleanliness**: Very clean. **Ambiance**: The overall environment feels high-quality and worth the price. It's not like those regular guesthouses that jack up prices to over a thousand during peak season but have cheap decor. **Breakfast**: A rich variety of options, the rice noodles were delicious, and the corn juice was great. **Service**: Everyone was excellent, always greeting you when they saw you. Highly recommend.

AAnonymous UserExtremely satisfied with my stay! The location is super convenient, with plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. The room was larger than I expected, the bedding was soft and clean, the shower had great water pressure, and the AC worked perfectly. The breakfast offered a good variety and tasted delicious. WWangwangxiaolibaobaoThis hotel truly lives up to its recommendations! Even on a weekday during the off-season, there were quite a few people. The hotel environment is simply exceptional, and what's more, the dining is impressive – both the afternoon tea and breakfast exceeded expectations! The lobby doubles as a cafe and restaurant, offering views of the pool and Yulong River, plus the mountain scenery. Why bother going to another cafe when everything you need is right here at the hotel? We arrived directly at the hotel entrance via a bamboo raft from the Yulong River scenic area. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, including one with an incredibly delicious beer fish. The room was absolutely fantastic, with two large floor-to-ceiling windows facing the mountain and pool, offering a superb view. You can step right out to the pool for a swim, making it very relaxing. Although the weather wasn't great, the misty, cloudy day actually added a unique charm. The toiletries were Acqua di Parma, and the scent was lovely, which shows the hotel's thoughtfulness. Hot water was instant, no waiting needed. Definitely a hotel worth revisiting!

GGuest UserGet this hotel!!! We were supposed to stay for a night and then decide what to do - we ended up staying 3 nights and were very sad to leave. Every so often when you travel your hotel experience significantly improved your holiday - this was one of those cases! First of all the basics, we were looking for a nice family friendly hotel walking distance from the beach - and this certainly fit that category. The rooms are fine, you could see the sea from the windows, comfortable beds, pretty clean, slippers, plenty of towels, wifi everywhere etc. There was also a small playground for small kids and hammocks (picture) etc which was cool, we also saw mahjong tables, but didn't have the time to play. The hotel is located near a fairly large field, filled with exotic birds, butterflies and crickets etc. There were also geckos everywhere (love them), but we didn't see any inside the room. There were some mosquitos outside on the terrace (don't love them), but the repellent took care of those and we didn't have any in our rooms. Felt like you were near nature, in a good way. The kids loved to play on the beach, it's great for sand castles (the hotel had buckets and shovels free of charge) and searching for crabs, fish, shells, sea snails etc... The moms loved it too, especially to walk around and explore during low tide. (the hotel also provided equipment to catch crabs and other sea creatures etc if you wanted to - they also had a service to cook them for you) We especially enjoyed playing under a nearby pier during low tide to avoid getting badly sunburned. The supermarket across the street sell dozens of single malt whiskys and beer from all over the world (they also have ice cream and other stuff) - and the dads recommend the roof terrace for that after the kids are asleep. (picture) If you know how to ride a scooter/ebike they rent them across the road too, and it's the best way to explore the island. The small roads (almost devoid of cars) were awesome to drive on, just remember to stay safe. I don't usually care much about breakfast, but the included breakfast was great! (picture) The kitchen staff was also super laid-back about the whole thing - this whole hotel radiated a very laid back tropical island feel that made you forget you were in China. However the reason I write this review is because of the owner. (last picture) (I'm not sure if he speaks English though, but I'm sure you'll manage) Super chill guy! Immediately after booking he contacted us to arrange the transport from the boat. He helped us buy tickets for the trip back. He was willing to come and pick us up at any time if we got lost on the island. He had great recommendations about basically everything, and whenever we made plans we were sure to ask for his advice. He was basically always reachable over wechat too. These are just some of the things that he didn't have to provide, but did (or offered): unlimited cold drinking water, ice, proper glasses, a coffee grinder, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas, sunscreen, aloe vera plants, flashlights, mosquito repellent etc etc and it feels like we only scratched the surface. It feels like whenever I asked him for something he always had a solution that exceeded my expectations. Great host! I've traveled to almost 100 countries and while this wasn't the fanciest hotel I've stayed in by any means, this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. If anyone I know plans to visit this island I will for sure recommend this place.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel in Yangshuo is absolutely fantastic! The room was clean and comfortable, with stunning mountain views. Waking up and opening the window to a lush green landscape was so relaxing and refreshing. The front desk offers electric bike rentals that are in excellent condition with plenty of battery life, and at a great price. It was super convenient for riding to Yulong River and Ten-Mile Gallery, allowing us to enjoy the scenery with the wind in our hair – so free and enjoyable. The service was thoughtful and attentive, making getting around incredibly easy. The value for money is unbeatable; choosing this place for your trip to Yangshuo is definitely the right call!

GGuest UserOur check-in was incredibly smooth, comfortable, and satisfying. This hotel clearly puts a lot of thought into its service. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, equipped with a mini-fridge and all the necessary amenities, including central air conditioning. There's even a lovely small garden on the 6th floor with beautiful surroundings. What truly stood out was the exceptionally warm and enthusiastic front desk service. They gave me great recommendations for local food and travel tips. All the services I needed were provided. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend it! 😊🌹

GGuest UserFacilities: The rooftop infinity pool is incredibly photogenic, and there's a children's park right outside the door that my kids absolutely loved. The room even had children's books, which they were instantly engrossed in. Cleanliness: The room was spotless, and the bedding was super comfortable—I slept like a baby. Ambiance: The decor was very whimsical and kid-friendly; the floor mat and tent in the room were my children's favorites. Service: The front desk staff were friendly, responsive, and paid attention to the small details, making for a fantastic experience. I was so satisfied with my first stay that I immediately booked another hotel from the same brand for our trip to Yangshuo the next day.

GGuest UserHad an incredible stay here! The views are stunning (probably one of the best out of all the other accommodations nearby), the room was clean and the service was friendly. It's a family owned business and everyone is lovely. If you're taking a bus, it won't drop you all the way to the hotel but if you give the hotel a call, someone can come pick you up from the bus stop. I had a bit of a miscommunication with my previous hotel who arranged a coach for us that dropped us off at a very far away drop off point and someone still came and picked us up from there with no complaints (and did not charge us for it)!! We were also dropped back off at the bus stop on the day we left. No one spoke much English which made it a little harder, but we got by with a translator app. There are quite a few stairs to go up to get to the hotel which isn't great if you have lots of heavy luggage so I'd recommend packing lightly if possible. Having said that, if you have average fitness, you should be fine getting up and down the stairs, the trek is not too long. The views are definitely worth it! Would stay again for sure.

GGuest UserIn my opinion, an excellent hotel must meet three criteria: comfortable accommodations with a beautiful environment, impeccable cleanliness, and thoughtful, welcoming service. The Huaxin Hotel, where I recently stayed, perfectly embodies all these qualities. First, the location and environment are absolutely perfect. The hotel is conveniently located near the Comprehensive Pier. Whether you take a bamboo raft from the Jima Pier or the Shuierdi Pier, the destination is the Comprehensive Pier, and it's less than a 5-minute walk back to the hotel. What was even more surprising was that there's a small pier right outside the hotel – a 'bonus' I hadn't noticed when booking! The surroundings are also very convenient; there's a restaurant run by the hotel next door, and you can enjoy delicious BBQ behind Building 1 in the evening. Secondly, the cleanliness is beyond reproach. From the lobby and corridors to the guest rooms, everything is meticulously clean and tidy, providing a reassuring and refreshing stay. Lastly, the service truly deserves high praise. From the moment I checked in, the staff were consistently smiling and proactively helped me with my luggage to the room. Every time I encountered them, they greeted me warmly. Upon arrival, they thoughtfully provided a fruit plate and snacks, and there was even a small souvenir when checking out. These small details highlight their warm hospitality. I've already booked to bring my son here again for the summer vacation!

HHaoyunlailyyThis hotel in Yangshuo was such a pleasant surprise! You get amazing mountain views right from your room. The rooftop 'Sky Mirror' offers stunning panoramic views of the winding Li River – it's like a built-in filter for your photos, every shot looks professional! The hotel's location is excellent, right next to West Street, making it super convenient for exploring and dining. Plus, there's free parking, which is a huge bonus if you're driving. They offer a complimentary buffet breakfast, and the rooms are spacious. I loved relaxing on the balcony sofa during the day, just unwinding and enjoying the mountain scenery, and then watching the sunset in the evening – it felt like time just slowed down. The room I booked even had a soaking tub, and bathing while looking at the mountains was incredibly relaxing! For anyone looking to escape the city for a bit, a weekend here is truly rejuvenating!

BBaoheshuimianThe entire stay was a terrible and frustrating experience. First, my takeout order arrived at the ground floor at 8:20 PM. After waiting about 25 minutes for it to be delivered to my room, I politely called the front desk. They told me it was being delivered by a robot. I waited another 5 minutes and still didn't receive it, so I called again to inquire. Only then did the front desk actually confirm that the concierge on the ground floor hadn't placed the order in the robot. It took three phone calls from me and 40 minutes for one takeout order to get from the ground floor to my room. Second, my reservation included late check-out, and I confirmed this at check-in. On the day of check-out, the front desk called to say I had already exceeded the check-out time. Only after I reminded them did they bother to check my booking details. In both instances, they offered a verbal 'we are very sorry' – probably knowing that as a guest, I couldn't really do anything about it. But in reality, one problem led to another, and the entire system, from central coordination and communication to the front desk service, completely fell apart. I originally chose The Luxury Collection over Shangri-La. Now, I've learned my lesson and will choose Shangri-La. There are many 'cloud' hotels (referring to high-end hotels) everywhere, but not every one of them is as annoying as The Luxury Collection.
