Hotel Review – Hotel Ocidental Dresden Newa I recently stayed at Hotel Ocidental Dresden Newa, and while the property benefits from a central location in the inner city, the overall experience was disappointing. The hotel’s greatest advantage is indeed its proximity to the city center, allowing convenient access to major attractions and public transportation. However, aside from this, the stay was overshadowed by several shortcomings. Firstly, the amenities were very limited, and the guest room itself appeared dated and somewhat worn, reflecting the age of the hotel. This left an impression of tiredness rather than comfort. The most concerning issue, however, relates to the parking situation. The hotel advertises that it offers its own parking facilities, yet in reality, this is not the case. Guests are required to use a public parking facility nearby, which is misleading and highly inconvenient. This information should be corrected immediately, as it creates false expectations for visitors arriving by car. Additionally, the area in front of the hotel is consistently overcrowded with parked vehicles, often blocking arriving guests from accessing the entrance or unloading luggage during check-in. This further contributed to a frustrating arrival experience. In conclusion, while the central location is undeniably practical, the limited amenities, outdated rooms, misleading information about parking, and poorly managed entrance area significantly detract from the overall quality of the stay. I would strongly recommend the management address these issues to ensure a more accurate representation of the hotel and a better experience for future guests.

We were going to a gig at the nearby Haus Ansee and this was the closest hotel. Wonderful receptionist on Sat and Sunday morning who was so helpful! We managed to check in early(not guaranteed)and the room was lovely and comfortable. The parking garage for our hire car worked well and we left it when we got the tram into town. Cannot fault the breakfast at all and just generally all the service we received. Nothing not to like except I miss a tea/coffee tray but maybe this isn’t something that happens in bc Grr we nan hotels. Don’t hesitate….value for money! Excellent hotel in a quiet location. The hotel exceeded my expectations. Very clean room with coffee machine and kettle. Luxurious bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Walking distance to all the sights of Dresden. Walking distance to the train station is 15-20 along a safe route (I walked alone and at night with a noisy suitcase), but you can also take the tram. If I come to Dresden again - only to NH!

Close to train station and zoo, room to the backyard and quite spacious, has fully equipped kitchen, but no hoover, with warning that one shall not produce smoke/steam, as the detector is directly connected to the fire station, and warms about fine it would cause. Need to clean the kitchen, otherwise fine 50 euro. Cleaning team needs better briefing and communication. Room door was opened by cleaning staff twice before check out time. Free tea and coffee available at nice lobby lounge.

Super experience! Location, can’t be better, facing the church, get full vision of the street, particularly in the morning when the streets are still quiet and empty. All the highlights are all walking distance. Lots of options of restaurants in the area; Facility is clean and well maintained, and everything you need is can be found in the room. Suitable for family travel with children as well. We found it very comfortable in the room, and we slept very well. Once the window is closed, you won’t be bothered by the outside sound. The city is very nice, we are very glad that we spent one night here in such a great place.

Within walking distance of a great shopping street and about 25 minutes walk from the castle and lovely architecture. Staff were helpful and check in was smooth. Had to go down to reception to borrow a kettle and a mug as they don’t put them in rooms, apparently had many incidents of guests stealing the kettles? Aside from that, very convenient and sparkling clean. Heaters were very warm and beds were comfy.

A beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, helpful, the reception is staffed at all times. The breakfast was very, very good, and the staff here were also very attentive, friendly, considerate. The location is perfect, beautiful for long walks along the Elbe. The center and the old town are easy to reach on foot. The cleanliness of our room was very good. We thank you for a wonderful short vacation, which we were able to make even more perfect thanks to the bikes you borrowed. We'd love to come back :)
