Asian Fusion Delight @ Masama

Masama by Kamil in Yogyakarta is a culinary gem that serves fuision cusine! We came across this place when we ate at the more established elder brother Mediterranea by Kamil just next door. We started off with the salmon gravlaks carpaccio (IDR 87k) —a delicate and elegant appetizer that's as beautiful as it is tasty. The thinly sliced smoked salmon melted in our mouth, complemented by zesty ponzu lime sauce. It was served with toasted bread. For the main course, we had their seafood paella and masama seafood noodles. The masama seafood noodles (IDR 97k) was a standout dish, with noodles swimming in a really, really savory broth filled with an assortment of seafood delights. I cannot emphasise enough how flavourful and creamy the broth was. Each slurp was a burst of deliciousness! Their seafood paella (IDR 97k) was not as spectacular. It was served with shrimp, squid, and mussels, nestled on flavorful rice. We found this dish to be a bit too salty and dry, and definitely preferred the masama seafood noodles. Finishing off, we had the passionfruit tiramisu (IDR 42k). Again, this one was good but not particularly great. We would probably try another dessert the next time we are back! Overall, the restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance, perfect for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends. The staff are attentive and friendly, adding to the overall dining experience.
