Nyingchi Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Yarlung Zangbo, you are in the middle of autumn. With a total length of 504.6 kilometers and an average depth of 2268 meters, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the world's largest canyon. It is known as the "last human myth" and is regarded by scientists as "the keyhole that opens the door to the history of the earth." In the Tibetan language, Yaru refers to the sky from the sky. The autumn colors of
Yaluzang are very charming. Every year in late October, the golden and dark green leaves are intertwined, like a painting that attracts many photographers.
Today's weather is not ideal. After an afternoon, although I can't see the whole picture of Mount Kinabalu, I can still see the main peak of Mount Nanga Bawa. Waiting, just because it is worth it.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world, is called the last secret on the earth. It has both the harsh and cold of the Himalayas and the warmth of the Amazon River. When you visit the Grand Canyon with the scenic car, you will arrive first. In the Love Square, you can see that the distant Nanjia Bawa Peak is like a shy girl who is finally unveiled, and the huge triangular peaks are clearly visible. The height of 7782 meters in Nanga Bawa is also proud of the world. Geographers like to analyze the peculiarity of Nanga Bawa from a scientific point of view. The Tibetans think it is a holy place and call it "the mountain." "As a general tourist, I just sigh for the beauty of its masculine beauty. The peaks of the triangle are vigorous and powerful, and the king is demeanor."
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the formation of the Himalayas movement and the rushing of the river. After passing through two high valleys at an altitude of over 6,000 meters, it forms a peculiar U-shaped turn around the Nanga Bawa Peak, and the American branch. The Grand Canyon is exactly the same, but it is longer and deeper.
[Tips]
Transportation and tickets: The scenic spot is very large and there is no public transportation. So if you want to visit the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, you can only participate in the tour or chartered car. You can usually travel in Lhasa or Linzhi. The group, the group price generally includes tickets.
Diet: There are restaurants in the scenic spot, most of them are opened by Sichuanese. The taste is not bad
Note: Although the altitude is not too high, about 2880 meters, but after all, it is a plateau area, pay attention to high anti.
Is Motuo, recommended by Hu Ge, really worth visiting?
It was once the only county in China that required a ticket for entry, and it is also the last county in China to have roads built to it—Tibet's Motuo🏞️
How to get to Motuo?
🚗Self-driving: The current route to Motuo is the Zhamo Highway, but the road is not open to traffic after 8 p.m., and Motuo implements a system where you can only leave on odd-numbered days and enter on even-numbered days.
🚌Bus: Currently, there is only one bus route from Nyingchi to Motuo, which you can take from Bayi Town in Nyingchi (departs at 8 a.m.)
⚠️Attention:
✔️You need a border pass to enter Motuo, as well as an ID card, otherwise you cannot enter
⏰Best time to travel: April to May and September to November each year
About Motuo
Motuo, which means 'flower' in Tibetan, is a county under the jurisdiction of Nyingchi City in the Tibet Autonomous Region, and it is the only county in China that hangs on the southern slope of the Himalayas. For a time, there was a fee to enter, but since March 16, 2023, Motuo has announced the cancellation of the entrance fee.
🔥Must-visit attractions
Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon
The world's largest canyon, with dense rivers and lakes, marshes, snow-capped mountains, and glaciers, offers many magnificent and strange sights. Every year from March to April, the banks of the canyon are filled with dense wild peach forests, and from above, you can see the endless torrent of the river and the peach blossoms🌸, which is incredibly beautiful.
Guguotang Big Bend
This is a landmark of the Yarlung Zangbo River, and because it looks like a lollipop from above, it has this cute name. From the viewing platform, you can see the banana groves and the Yarlung Zangbo River, with very picturesque scenery.
Galongla Snow Mountain
Known as the 'sacred mountain,' its majestic peaks and snow-covered summit are breathtaking.🏔 There is also a Galongla Heavenly Pond on the snow mountain, like a pearl set at an altitude of 4700 meters, very clear. The Galong Temple near the Galongla Tunnel is also worth a visit.
Namjagbarwa Peak
With its steep peak shape, sharp mountain tips, and huge, sharp triangular peak body soaring into the clouds, it is awe-inspiring.
Mirage Viewing Platform
Here you can witness the sunrise over the Yarlung Zangbo River🌅, view the sea of clouds in Motuo, enjoy the mist over the Yarlung Zangbo River, and take in the panoramic view of Motuo County.
Gelin Village
Motuo's popular village, a must-visit! It's like spring all year round here, as if it's a 'Shangri-La' hidden deep in the canyon. Not only is it the best angle to view Namjagbarwa Peak, but it also has China's tallest Bhutan pine, a must-visit spot.
When you arrive in Motuo, you can't help but exclaim: 'There are such beautiful places in this world!'😍
Life advice, you must visit the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon at least once!
-
During the summer, people often struggle to choose a destination for their vacation, but I have always wanted to go to Linzhi, Tibet. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but Linzhi also enjoys a summer temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, making it a perfect retreat from the heat. So if you have the chance, you must visit the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, Basong Lake, and Lulang to see the mountains and rivers.
-
🗻【Pre-visit Impressions】
Before coming here, I thought: Without the springtime peach blossoms blooming everywhere, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon would lose its color. However, I find the canyon in summer to be just as worthwhile. We learned in elementary school that the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the world's largest and deepest canyon. The combination of steep peaks and wild turns, the majestic Mount Namjagbarwa piercing the clouds, the rapid river currents, and the lush primeval forest create a landscape that changes unpredictably amidst the clouds and mist, showcasing the great beauty of our country's mountains and rivers.

Pagsom Co Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Basum Tso in Tibet | A little Switzerland hidden in Tibet
"Basum Tso" also known as Cuogao Lake🌊, in Tibetan means "green water". The lake is at an altitude of 3480 meters, located 36 kilometers from Bahe Town, Gongbujiangda County, in the upper reaches of the Bahe River in the high mountain valley, it is a famous sacred lake and holy land of the Red Sect. In August 2017, it became the first natural scenic 5A tourist area in Tibet.
🎡 Attractions:
1⃣ Island in the heart of Basum Tso
A small island in the middle of Basum Tso, connected to the land by a floating bridge. Tourists can walk up via this bridge or take a small boat. Legend has it that the island is a "hollow island", i.e., it is not connected to the lake bottom and floats on the lake. Although it is just a legend, it makes people feel the magic of nature.
2⃣ Cuozong Gongba Temple
Located on the island in the lake, it is a famous Red Sect Nyingma temple in Tibet, built in the late Tang Dynasty, with a history of more than 1500 years. There is a peach and pine tree in the south of the temple. In spring, the peach blossoms and green pines contrast each other, which is very beautiful.
3⃣ Jieba Village
At the foot of the scenic area of Basum Tso, there is an ancient village hidden -- Jieba Village, located deep in the scenic area in Cuogao Township. Only when you explore deep into the scenic area, you will find a paradise at the end of the lake.
4⃣ Xinco (very beautiful, worth a visit)✨
Xinco is an extended scenic spot inside Basum Tso, very beautiful, suitable for hiking, 6 kilometers, about 3 hours. Xinco is quite far from Basum Tso, about 20~30 kilometers, and the road conditions are poor.
🎈 Admission: 115 yuan/person, sightseeing car 50 yuan/person
🎈 Opening hours of the scenic area:
3.15-10.15, 8:30--20:30
10.16-next year 3.14, 9:30-19:30
🚘 Transportation: Self-driving or group tour
You can also take a train from Lhasa to Nyingchi, and then take a bus from Nyingchi City Passenger Transport Center to Basum Tso, about 120 kilometers, ticket price 62 yuan, journey 2-2.5 hours
🏠 Food and accommodation: Basum Tso has developed into a relatively mature tourist resort in recent years, with convenient food and accommodation. The prices in the restaurants in the scenic area are relatively high, and the sanitary conditions are general
🌟 Best viewing season: Spring, Autumn.
In spring, Basum Tso will present a charming blue, as if it were the blue tears of Nyenchen Tanglha. If you also like blue, why not go and see Basum Tso in spring!
Every autumn, when the air is crisp and clear, the forest is dyed and the lake water is pure and clear.
Super real Songzanlin (Basongtso Store)
1, The hardware is impeccable, the room has a smart toilet, electric towel rack, projector, ambient night light (it's the most reasonable lighting design in the hotels I've stayed in recently), but the standard room bed is tiny! 1.2m X 1.8m, isn't it impossible for tall people to stretch their legs?
2, Some thoughtful little things, goodnight drink (in a thermos), prepared a variety of drinks coffee and so on that you can make yourself
3, The scenery is stunning, the swimming pool under the snow mountain, the restaurant with a 270-degree view, the dock where you can sail on the lake, and the horse farm and so on, the soon-to-open Ancestor Bird, it's only a matter of time before it becomes a stop on the journey rather than a night at a hotel
4, Food, dinner is not bad, ordered mushroom stewed rice and vegetables and so on, apart from being expensive there is no problem, breakfast is very rich and delicious, afternoon tea is a bit perfunctory, probably considering that not many guests eat it
5, Service, the biggest complaint this time, the night before they said it was quite good, we checked in very late and didn't get afternoon tea, the room can be delayed until 2 o'clock to check out, if we leave early they can help us pack, breakfast until 10 o'clock and so on, the next morning, they first called to urge us to check out at 11 o'clock, because there are new guests booked? We disagreed, then said that afternoon tea can't be packed, only dine in, and said that breakfast is only until 9 o'clock, our communication process also said that we are very difficult to communicate, can't understand a bit.
Above, can experience, encounter a good manager may have a better experience.
Basum Tso
Basum Tso, also known as Cuogao Lake, means 'green water' in Tibetan. It is about 18 kilometers long, covers an area of approximately 27 square kilometers, and reaches a depth of 120 meters. The lake is situated at an altitude of 3480 meters. Located in the deep valley of the upper Ba River, about 36 kilometers from Baher Town in Gongbo'gyamda County, it is a famous sacred lake and holy site of the Red Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The scenic area encompasses snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls, pastures, cultural relics, and ancient temples, offering a unique and varying landscape throughout the seasons. It is a haven for numerous rare and wild plant species, truly a paradise on earth, and is known as the 'Little Switzerland' of Tibet. About one hundred meters from the shore lies a small island called Tashi Island, which is home to the Tang Dynasty structure 'Tsokar Gongba Monastery,' a renowned Nyingma sect temple of Tibetan Buddhism, built in the late Tang Dynasty, with a history of over 1500 years.
Basum Tso is a must-see, it's so beautiful
Basum Tso is a famous sacred lake and holy site of the Red Sect, and it is the first and currently the only natural scenic national 5A-level tourist attraction in Tibet. Forests, snow-capped mountains, villages, lakes, islands, temples. Basum Tso almost encapsulates all types of southeastern Tibetan scenery and culture. Strolling around Basum Tso, under the blue sky and white clouds, with the snow mountains and clear waters, it feels as if time could stand still.
Exit the highway at Bahe Town, and a thirty-plus kilometer road takes you to the scenic area. Stop the car twice on the way; once for the eye-catching yellow of the rapeseed flowers blooming in the green valley, winding upwards, which irresistibly makes you ask the driver to stop. Another stop is initiated by the driver; the roaring waterfalls from the rolling dam, thundering and stirring up a pile of snow and wind, rolling forward. Standing on the shore, looking down at the rapids from a close distance, one feels dizzy and hastily retreats.
Private cars are not allowed inside the scenic area; you can only take the scenic area bus. The first stop is to the island in the heart of the lake, which is the core of Basum Tso. There is a small local temple on the island. Although it's small, it's said to be a holy temple of the sect, and what's unique is a 'peach embracing pine' tree, where a pine tree grows in the middle of a peach tree. The trees on the island are lush, including a thousand-year-old evergreen oak, majestic like a dragon. The moss on the branches indicates the fresh and moist air here.
You can also feed fish on the floating bridge, using barley cake made by local residents, which costs five yuan each and is not expensive. It just feels like these fish have been fed by tourists and are not interested in what we throw. You can also take a bus to a small hilltop viewing platform in Jieba Village, where the view of the lake under the snow mountains is still very beautiful. In the lush forest, there is such a large expanse of lake water, reflecting the snow mountains, truly experiencing what the 'Jiangnan of Tibet' feels like. There are also boat services on the lake.
There is also a small village called Tsogao Village by Basum Tso, 'Tsogao' in Tibetan means 'head of the lake', which is a mysterious ancient Tibetan village hidden at the end of the sacred lake. After arriving at Basum Tso, continue walking along the lakeside road, passing through tall and straight pine forests with a faint scent of pine, and in about 40 minutes, you will reach Tsogao Village.
Tsogao Village, built by the lake, with scattered houses, the lake like a belt, and behind it, is the Jieqing Nalagabu Snow Mountain with an altitude of over 6300 meters. The misty clouds spread down from the surrounding mountains, and Tsogao Village is thus serenely nestled between the snow-capped mountains and green waters, a perfect secluded paradise by the mountains and water!

Bomi Peach Blossom Valley Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
I thought the peach blossoms in Linzhi were beautiful until I visited the ones in Bomi
❤️Recommended reason:
Bomi Peach Blossom Valley🌸 follows the largest tributary of the Parlung Tsangpo River, the Boidoi Tsangpo, heading north all the way to Zepu Village at the northernmost 90 kilometers. Along the clear turquoise riverbanks, the further north you go, the denser the peach blossoms become, especially from Linqiong Village to Yuxu Township. Both sides are dense peach forests, with thick peach trees forming a pale pink cloud.
🌟🌟Especially recommended peach blossom villages:
✅Must experience:
Danka Village
Often the first village before entering the Peach Blossom Valley, located on the south bank of the Parlung Tsangpo, yet often overlooked by tourists due to a bridge. Here, the river, peach blossoms, snow mountains, cattle and horses, villages, and grasslands are integrated harmoniously, offering a different view at every step. The village charges an entrance fee of 10 yuan per person, which is completely worth it compared to those well-known peach villages. More houses are on the left side of the village, while the right side has more peach blossoms, offering a comfortable and pleasant stroll for visitors.
Linqiong Village
Situated between Qiongduo Town and Yuxu Township, the dense peach forest on the south side of the village is stunning from afar. The density here is higher than other places, as seen from the drone footage, covering the entire river beach with full white and pink. The road passes through the village, with lush peach blossoms on both sides, making one feel as if they are in a peach blossom utopia. The Yusha Village across the river on the hillside also seems to be draped in colorful clouds, offering a breathtaking view across the river. In addition, the Haiding Village to the south and north of Yuxu Township and the Reba Village are dense with wild peach forests, which are very impressive.
Qiongduo Town
The four villages along the north side of the river, Liekang Village—Bakang Village—Xiamuka—Yusar, are staggered in height, one after another, offering a feast for the eyes. The four villages are very close to each other and seamlessly connected. As a midway point, Qiongduo Town has relatively convenient accommodations and dining. For a short trip to Bomi Peach Blossom Valley, you can return from here, take a mid-line to Yuxu Township, or a long line to Zepu Village for a trek to the Zepu Glacier.

Lulangzhen Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
National Day holiday, recommending 9 off-the-beaten-path scenic spots in China
Hello, we are Xiao Yan and Lao Zhao, always on the road, the unknown scenery ahead can always heal everything.
Here are 9 off-the-beaten-path scenic spots in China that we have visited and think are very worthwhile:
1⃣️Lulang Town, Tibet
Autumn is its most beautiful season, with large pine forests and distant snow-capped mountains complementing each other, plus the log cabins are like a fairy tale world, and you can also overlook the 28th highest peak in the world, Namjagbarwa.
2⃣️Shangri-La Baishuitai
You can see the Cotton Castle without going to Turkey, this is a calcified landscape that has naturally formed over thousands of years, like silky cream terraces.
3⃣️Guizhou Yubulu Tiankeng
Although it is a man-made device, it is hidden in a thousand-year-old village, the photo feels very magical, and it's free and very worth seeing in person.
4⃣️Lijiang Wenhai
A lesser-known scenic spot in Lijiang that we really like, you can overlook the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, with herds of cattle and sheep on the large grassland by the lake, it feels like Ili.
5⃣️Xinjiang Tianshan Stone Forest
A very magical landscape, like the wilderness in the real version of The Legend of Zelda. The entrance is right next to the Duku Highway, so it's only convenient to go there in the few months when Duku is open, which is now.
6⃣️Lijiang Ganheba
You need to start hiking from Yuhu Village in Lijiang, in the direction of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, there are tenacious trees in the calcified saline-alkali land, which can't help but marvel at the magic of nature.
7⃣️Qiandongnan Jiayi Miao Village
A still quite off-the-beaten-path village, with few people and pristine scenery, there are large terraced fields, just like Miyazaki's anime.
8⃣️Inner Mongolia Wulan Lake
A salt lake hidden in the Alxa Desert, very magical like the heart of the earth. The color will be redder and more beautiful from July to October every year.
9⃣️Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge High Road Hiking
A hiking route recommended by National Geographic, walking along the rolling Jinsha River on the cliffs, accompanied by goats, the scenery is very shocking.
Take advantage of the holiday, let's go!
Rulong, a small town in eastern Switzerland | Like a fairyland on earth
| Like a fairyland on earth.
The town of Rulong is an international tourist destination. It's a small place, but it's very clean and tidy everywhere. The architectural style of the houses is lazy in Tibetan, but the interior decoration is still very traditional Han. The original traditional Tibetan houses have been improved a lot, but you can still see the characteristics of Tibetans. Although the peach blossom festival in Nyingchi has passed, there are still many peach blossoms blooming, but these two days have been covered by heavy snow on the branches, the heavy snow swaying on the flowers, the top is white snow, the bottom is pink flowers, you can imagine a bunch of beautiful scenery. The sound of snow shoes stepping on the snow, it's been a long time since I played like this. I still miss the taste of butter tea, full of sheep milk flavor, thin, floating a layer of butter
:
√Rulong Forest Sea: The young forest is green and the mother forest is secluded. The towering snow of Namjagbarwa and the forest sea reflect each other, which makes the plateau of Tibet more magnificent
√Zaxigang Folk Village: The thick Tibetan-style houses and the buildings that blend the characteristics of Tibetans, Han, and Menba are scattered among the high mountain pastoral fields, quiet and peaceful
√Gongtso Lake: The lake in the scenic area is clear and rippling, the mountains and rivers are continuous, as if in a paradise, you can also overlook the Namjagbarwa Peak, it is also a good place for photography
√Specialty food: When you come to Rulong, you must have a pot of stone chicken. It is made by hollowing out a whole stone. The local Tibetan chicken is used, and the stream water from the snow mountain is used with ginseng, Tibetan beimu, lily, wolfberry and other medicinal materials. Slow stew, stew out the delicious food

Encountering a fairy-tale countryside in Tibet that rivals Switzerland
🧡Before coming, I was most looking forward to the attraction of Lulang Town in my Tibet itinerary.
💛It's a place where you can feel refreshed just by looking at the pictures. It's no wonder it's known as the 'Eastern Little Switzerland'.
💜It's like walking into the pastoral scenery of a fairy tale.
❤️The cartoon clouds here and the cattle and horses paint a series of oil painting-like romantic works.
Lulang Attractions
▪️Lulang International Town
Lulang Town is surrounded by mountains and forests, and the pastoral scenery can be seen everywhere. It really is a town that can rival Switzerland.
▪️Lulang Forest Sea
The dense forest is like a green ocean. When you encounter fog, it feels like you're in a fairyland.
▪️Lulang Alpine Pasture
Ticket🎫: 30 yuan/person
It's a great place to take pictures. The babbling streams, the flowers and grasses everywhere, the leisurely walking cattle and horses, all sketch a series of touching plateau scrolls.
