Mai Huan 60 Doi Chang Coffee Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Dining in tropical garden
This is one of the best Chiang Mai restaurant you will want to try.
An enchanting dining experience at Mai Huan, a wooden Lanna style home of over 60 years set in a tropical garden, blooming wild orchids and lush green ferns. Simply charming and adorned with intricate details. The tranquil atmosphere was a retreat. The menu offers a wide selection of northen dishes, a beautiful mix of local vegatables and ingredients beatifully served/wrapped in banana leaves and decorated with edible flowers. The food, dessert and coffee were fantastic. Very generous portions of main dishes. Doi Chang Coffee was excellent. Highly recommend rich chocolate and coconut cake. Amazing taste of both. Great service. We really enjoyed the atomosphere and food.
Would love to see plastic straws replaced by paper or eco-straws though... 🌱

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nestled approximately 45 minutes away from Chiang Mai's old town, Mai Huan 60 Doi Chang Coffee is a hidden gem along the highway, surrounded by the enchanting allure of an untouched forest. Frequented by both tourists and locals, this cafe promises a delightful retreat from the bustling city.
Arriving just in time to beat the lunch rush, we secured a spot on the upper deck with ease. The staff, radiating friendliness and attentiveness, set the stage for what turned out to be a memorable dining experience.
We ordered:
1.Watermelon juice - 10/10 A refreshing delight, the watermelon juice was exceptionally fresh and sweet, offering the perfect thirst-quenching start to our meal.
2. Thai milk tea - 10/10 Rich, thick, and wonderfully milky, this Thai milk tea stood out as a highlight, providing the energy boost needed for exploring the nearby mountains. A personal favorite from the trip.
3. Khao Soi - 10/10 The thick chicken curry noodle dish, unique to Chiang Mai, allowed for customization of spiciness. Its distinctive taste left a lasting impression, making it a must-try.
4. Stir fry pumpkin leaves - 10/10 we thought it was morning glory, it tasted like morning glory but it was apparently a different kind of vegetable that was sweet and crunchy.
5. Tom yum seafood soup - 8/10 While the soup leaned towards the sour side, it showcased the authentic flavors of Tom Yum. A bit more spiciness would have elevated the experience.
This was an ideal kickstart to our Chiang Mai journey. The picturesque location, combined with hearty and flavorful dishes, set the tone for a day of adventure. Highly recommended for those heading towards the Mon Jam area, given its convenient location at the base of the hill. This enchanting forest café effortlessly combines excellent service, a scenic ambiance, and a diverse menu for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Do take note that the service is a little slow but that is expected from a full house.
