Strasbourg, the Fairytale Village

There are many places in Europe that are known for their uniquely rustic beauty. Strasbourg is one of them. This small village on the banks of the Rhine is one of the "Fairytale villages" in the French area. Bordered by Germany, from a variety of styles, this beautiful village has passed through various eras. Call it medieval style, rennaisance style, romantic style, also supposedly art nouveu style. Everything is available. Diverse but form a unity called beauty. Strasbourg is clearly included in the ranks of Unesco World Heritage as a historic village that must be preserved. All changes that occur there, will be carefully recorded and archived. They clearly forbid renovations that damage the original structure. Oh yes, like other Oldtown areas in Europe, Strasbourg has many small streets that wind like a maze, with neat natural stone as the plains. Walking on it is as if traveling through time centuries ago. Imagine a horse-drawn carriage and various women with umbrellas in puffy clothes. Canals surround country houses called half timbered houses. Colorful. The narrow balcony is decorated with flower pots hanging according to the seasons. Residences that have turned into cafes, art corners, hostels and preen souvenir shops are competing to show the glory of the past. It feels like the nickname fairytale village is not just nonsense. I visited Strasbourg in mid-January 2022, when the weather was still cold and the snowfall was erratic. Flying snow makes the earth as if sprinkled with powdered sugar that spreads over the entire surface. Thin strips that promise softness (plus extra freeze) It was only a drizzle of snow, but it also made us rush to find the nearest cafe so that we could last longer to witness the beauty of the post card styled by a famous painter.
