Old town in the north of Hangzhou

#historicplaces I found this old town on Google map three years ago when I moved to Hangzhou. Despite of its remote location, this quaint little town is an interesting blend of traditional Chinese architecture & culture with a touch of modernity. (I was indeed surprised to find a KFC and Starbucks, but it seems to be a trend nowadays). The stone bridge & river are part of the Grand Canal sourcing from Beijing. While strolling through the streets of the old town, you can find several restaurants, coffee shops and traditional snacks. There are a few handicraft stores where you can buy souvenirs. I also came across a portrait artist along the river. The old town is a living area and is also famous for its loquat season around mid-May. How to go- Take metro line 9 to Heyu Road.
