#Guilin Maoer Mountain Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Quintessential stay
It was actually part of a staycation deal that we signed up with a tour group. Situated among the rice 🌾 fields, we had two options to leave behind our bags 🛍️ so porters will help to bring things up or, we sweat it out to make this worth it 😎. We chose the second, and hiked with some nice view of the field. The hotel was nice with all the amenities, but as it is summer and bit of moisture there; 🐝 insects problem was there. Again, we went for a evening 🥾 hike into seven head dragon trail (yes, that was the name 😉) only to meet a wriggling stranger with hiss sound 🐍. It was fun though !! #hikefreak #chinatravel

Guilin|There really is jelly water here, pet-friendly
Guilin|There really is jelly water here, pet-friendly
Xing'an Laoshanjie Longtan River View Area (on the way to Mao'er Mountain)
Pet-friendly scenic area~ You can bring dogs in~ It's great, I brought a poodle, went straight in, saw some sisters commented that big dogs were rejected when they called, everyone ask in advance
Novice self-driving, did not take the highway, the journey is about 3 hours, the later mountain road is still relatively winding, there are blind spots in the field of vision, pay attention to safety when driving, we came back on the same day, it is relatively tiring for novices, it is better to have companions to take turns driving, it is best to go on a sunny day~ There are parking spaces at the entrance of the scenic area, 50r on a certain top, people over 70 years old are FREE
The jelly water is very real, all are unfiltered original pictures live, because I am a land duck and I brought the elderly out, I did not go into the water, actually it is worth coming here to experience the water~
The whole journey doesn't feel very far, basically the walkway is flat, occasionally there are stairs, and there are parts of the red culture, because the elderly are inconvenient to walk, we walked most of the way and then returned, next time I will go with friends to experience the whole journey
There are toilets not far from the entrance of the scenic area and when you walk in, and there are stalls selling snacks, the snacks are probably Qingbuliang grilled sausage corn eggs, the main food is instant noodles 10r, rice noodles (boxed, will help soak, 12r, locals think the taste is very average, not as good as eating instant noodles), there are farmhouses on the way to the scenic area, you can bring your own food or choose to eat nearby
Pay attention to sun protection and mosquitoes all the way, it is very cool near the water, and there is wind, very comfortable~
Maoer Mountain in Guilin | The summit of South China~ The peak shrouded in clouds and mist
Maoer Mountain is located in the northeast of Guangxi, spanning Xing'an, Ziyuan, and Longsheng counties, 122 kilometers away from Guilin City; it has an altitude of 2141.5 meters and a relative height of 1862 meters. It is the main peak of Yuecheng Ridge, the highest mountain range in Guangxi, named after its cat-like shape. The entire reserve is gourd-shaped, with a high middle and low surroundings, sloping to the southeast. The Bajiaotian in the middle, the Tongdapin in the south, and the Thirty-six Bao in the west are mountain basins, and the rest are continuous peak clusters. There are 10 mountains above 2000 meters above sea level, including Maoer Mountain, and 68 above 1000 meters, including Daiyun Mountain, Dazhu Mountain, and Jigong Mountain. The area is nearly 26.7 thousand hectares, of which more than 7160 hectares are designated as national reserves.
Maoer Mountain is the main peak of Yuecheng Ridge in the Nanling Mountains, the highest peak in Guangxi, the crown of the Five Ridges, and is known as the "summit of South China". The mountains in the territory are high and the forests are dense, cool in summer and snowy in winter, with elegant environment and picturesque scenery. The natural landscape is both majestic, dangerous, secluded, beautiful, and wild. The older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, Comrade Lu Dingyi, praised it as a combination of "the majesty of Mount Tai, the danger of Mount Hua, the seclusion of Mount Lu, and the beauty of Mount Emei", and it is a newly emerging ecological tourism destination in South China in recent years.
Guangxi Maoer Mountain Nature Reserve is part of the internationally significant key area of terrestrial biodiversity--Nanling Mountains. The Maoer Mountain is ancient, with complex terrain, mild climate, abundant water sources, fertile soil, and a wide variety of plants. It was established in 1976 with the approval of the People's Government of the Guangxi Autonomous Region and was approved to be included in the China Biosphere Reserve Network in 1999. The main protected objects are the original subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest ecosystem, nationally protected animal and plant species, and the Lijiang River headwater conservation forest. Maoer Mountain is not only the first peak in Guangxi, but also the first peak in South China. In 1990, Lu Dingyi praised Maoer Mountain for its "majesty of Mount Tai, danger of Mount Hua, seclusion of Mount Lu, and beauty of Mount Emei" in the old mountain boundary inscription.

This depends on the character. The two days we went to the cloud have not dissipated, the weather is super good, and it is waiting for the sunrise, the beauty is exciting.

Foguang is more difficult to encounter than the sunrise of the sea of clouds, but the goose, our character broke out, actually saw it! Happy to burn!
3: Sunset
Sunset is at 4-5 pm, the clouds gradually dissipate, the sea of clouds becomes thin, the sun shines through the clouds, and the beauty is like a fairyland on earth.
4: The Grand Canyon at the foot of the Hanjiang Grand Canyon
Cater Mountain is a completely different landscape from the sea of clouds. In addition to the beautiful scenery, there is also a waterfall.
