#Hotel Indigo Suzhou Grand Canal, an IHG Hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Friend: I'm following your guide to Suzhou for the May Day holiday!!!
A real-life Dream of Splendor‼️ The most comprehensive two-day, one-night Suzhou travel guide📝
1️⃣ Seven-mile Shantang Street is really crowded
But the sunset and night views are truly beautiful!
Taking a ride on a Wupeng boat is so romantic~✨
2️⃣ There are too many delicious things on Pingjiang Road!
You can't finish walking down the road in half an hour, it's all about eating and drinking😁
(There's also a Guanqian Street, suitable for 🛍️🛒)
3️⃣ I love Hanshan Temple, it's so beautiful~
(Remember to buy incense at the entrance in advance, it's more cost-effective!)
The pond full of koi is really stunning♨️
In the morning, you can have a bowl of the famous vegetarian noodles nearby
4️⃣ The Humble Administrator's Garden takes more than half an hour to visit (not 🆓)
It's not as amazing as I imagined
But it's still pretty good for taking photos
5️⃣ Turns out the Suzhou Museum and the Lion Grove Garden are on the same route
You can plan to finish both in half a day
You need to book the museum one week in advance! (The picture is of the main museum, the West Pavilion can be booked one day in advance)
But the museum is really, really, really beautiful and photogenic!
The area selling souvenirs is also worth a long visit! Lots of desirable items~
6️⃣ It's already impossible to get a spot for the old man on Pingjiang Road to draw names🤣! Too scary!
Families, come early to reserve 😭 The spot is right at the entrance
7️⃣ Hotel, we chose the Indigo, the standard room is 400 per person
The city skyline is perfectly unobstructed! Absolutely!
8️⃣ Hot springs♨️
If you have enough time, you can drive to Wang Yan Hot Springs
I heard it's the largest outdoor hot spring in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area, and it's really fun!
And there's a pool full of little yellow ducks! So fun you won't want to leave!
🍧🍡🧁🍤🥤🍵
Food:
1. For the 'Crab Three Treasures', you need to reserve two and a half hours to be able to enjoy it
(You can queue up first and then have enough time to visit Pingjiang Road and the Humble Administrator's Garden)
2. It took a 40-minute car ride to check in for the siu mai at Dongguan Shangdian
3. The three branches of Chayanyuyu are all on Pingjiang Road, but they are always super crowded
The photos do look good
4. The six-grid puzzle dish, called Xin Meihua, is frequented by locals, and it's delicious!
5. You must try the chicken feet on Pingjiang Road! There are two shops, I've tried both, and they're both good~

Suzhou | On the banks of the ancient canal, you can live in Gusu City in just a second
How can one not love Suzhou?
Especially during the flower season in March and April in the south of the Yangtze River, it's exceptionally beautiful.
When visiting Suzhou, you can't miss the ancient canal Indigo Hotel.
It's a very high aesthetic hotel with a strong design sense, and it's also a favorite Indigo of mine.
Directly experience the softness and gentleness of the Jiangnan water towns from the heights of Suzhou City.
The two distinctive Taihu rocks at the hotel entrance, the black-awning boat inspired by the 'Maple Bridge Night Mooring', and the seven civet cats hidden in corners throughout the hotel, make for great photo opportunities, don't they?
The room design also integrates the characteristics of Suzhou gardens very well, full of attention to detail, and is relatively close to Hanshan Temple, Xiyuan Temple, and the Master of the Nets Garden.

The ancient charm of Suzhou City meets modern Indigo
Suzhou is one of the cities particularly favored by InterContinental Hotels Group. There are too many popular hotels, such as InterContinental, Crown Holiday, Indigo, etc. This time, I stayed in this Indigo hotel located in the new district during the summer vacation. As soon as I stepped into the first floor reception hall, the ancient canal boat under the LED effect is moored in the sparkling light, welcoming guests to stay here. Every step depicts the historical and cultural elements of this famous southern city. The 46-story lobby boldly outlines large-scale decorations with Suzhou silk elements. There are so many rest seats in the lobby that are rarely seen today. It can be seen that Indigo's socialization with the neighborhood culture has penetrated into the bone marrow. The large floor-to-ceiling window rest area on the 45th floor allows guests to completely release the pressure at this moment. Although the guest rooms are slightly crowded, this is still a hotel worth visiting specifically to check in.

The embellishment of bright yellow and dark green adds vitality to the space, and the screens, bonsai, and flower windows all exude the precipitation of time and classical elegance.

Optimism and passion are the antidotes in a tired life!
'Up in heaven, down in Suzhou and Hangzhou' is well known, but some people just know it, without personal experience, that's a different story; small bridges and flowing water, pink walls and black tiles, a long alley, the slow sound of 'clang clang car' rolling on the stone road, you can know the long and profound history of this 4000-year-old historical and cultural city.
Cloud elevator: When I took the elevator, it gave me some surprises. The elevator is set against the background of green bamboo, and the picture is some corridors, which also shows the inspiration of the hotel to some extent.
Lobby: The lobby here also uses the method that Indigo is good at to deconstruct elements. Personally, I suggest that you can take pictures at night, and the lighting effect at night will become very dreamy.
Hotel rooms: The rooms are mainly concentrated on the 32-44 floors. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows with a very good view. This stay also comes with a mini bar, which is very refreshing to drink at night.
Fitness area: If you go swimming or fitness, it is on the 44th floor, and the gym is open 24 hours.
Spiral staircase: The spiral staircase is located on the 45th floor, and the reflection effect will be great at night.
About the restaurant:
The hotel's restaurant is also on the 46th floor. The Chinese and Western buffet breakfast is quite rich, with eggs, noodles, juice, etc. I recommend you to try the wonton and noodles here, they are very good!

For those who like high-rise hotels, try this Indigo Hotel in Suzhou
When traveling with children, you also want to make the children happy, and they generally won't refuse high-rise hotels. Located on the 40th floor, the Indigo Hotel is quite unique.
⭐Location: Located next to the ancient canal, it is a quiet place in the bustling city, connected to the shopping mall, the supermarket is downstairs, shopping is very convenient, you don't even need to go out.
⭐Environment: To go to the lobby, you have to take the elevator to the high-rise around the 40th floor. The lobby is on the top floor, and the rooms are all on the 30th floor. The city view in the room is not bad, and children naturally like it. The room is more modern, with a modern and simple decoration style. The embroidered stand turns into a metal screen, naturally enclosing several semi-open rest areas. The stacking and collision of different materials such as metal, leather, fabric, and marble will not make people feel conflicting, which shows Indigo's bold and unrestricted handwriting.
⭐Service Quality: The waiters are enthusiastic and friendly, and the hotel also has afternoon tea activities and children's activities. If you stay, you can take your children to participate for free.
In general, the Indigo Hotel on the ancient canal in Suzhou is decent in all aspects. As a fashionable brand under Intercontinental, it also experiences its full design sense and modern intelligence. But if there is anything special, it seems that there is really nothing. Some content may be too templated, and there will be less human touch and fireworks. In fact, overall, the price is not cheap, so the cost performance of the hotel is not too high, there are not too many memory points, but the children really like it, that's good!

In Suzhou! Young trendsetters check in at the Indigo Hotel on the ancient Grand Canal
Both are from HBA, but I personally prefer the Indigo in Hangzhou's Shangcheng, which has a better location and is a low-rise design. After all, being able to open the window, no matter how good the fresh air system is, it can't compare to natural wind.
The Grand Canal winding outside the city of Suzhou connects the long history with the prosperity of the past and present, and the cultural context of a thousand years is surging. The hotel is adjacent to the Suzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is designed by HBA Architecture Design Co., Ltd. in Singapore. It draws inspiration from the masterpiece 'Prosperous Suzhou' that depicts the canal culture. This painting was created by Xu Yang, a court painter from Suzhou in the Qing Dynasty, over a period of 24 years and is over twelve meters long. The famous Weaving Bureau, the Qili Shantang in the streets and alleys, the delicate and charming Kunqu culture, and the classical and elegant Suzhou traditional gardens are interpreted in a modern way and integrated into every space. As you move around, the architecture and cultural charm of Suzhou come into view.
