Amazonian Themed Playground in Singapore
#singapore
Singapore is a very child friendly place to live in as the island is peppered with free playgrounds all around. The newest one on the block is located at Parry Park where there is a Amazonian themed playground for kids to explore and play pretend. The playground is suited for big and little kids alike as there are more advanced climbing structures and lower slides for the little ones. The park itself is a wonderful place for young and old as there is a acupuncture stone path and an adult exercise area. My little ones could spend hours here without feeling bored! We are so thankful to be living in Singapore where activities like these are aplenty for young families. Do check this park out if you are in in vicinity.

The Japanese cemetery park is located in Hougang. It is the largest Japanese cemetery in Southeast Asia at 29,359 square metres, consisting of 910 tombstones that contain the remains of members of the Japanese community in Singapore, including young Japanese prostitutes, civilians, soldiers and convicted war criminals executed in Changi Prison. It was gazetted as a memorial park by the Singapore government in 1987.
The park is typically opened 8am to 6pm and the bougainvillaeas flowers can be seen in full bloom at different times of the year. It’s always a sight to behold with many comparing it to the likes of Japan’s cherry blossoms.
Although a pretty photo spot, do also bear in mind to be respectful as it is after all a cemetery.

The Japanese Cemetery Park
The Japanese Cemetery Park is snuggled in the heart of Chuan Hoe Avenue near Serangoon Gardens. A majority of Japanese belong to the Shinto religion and so the cemetery itself has a Shinto ethos. In fact, Shintoism is an action-centred religion where actions need to be carried out diligently so as to ensure that the connection between the past and present is strong.
It’s a very good place to go if you want peace and quiet, while listening to birds chirp in the background. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you do go there, do be respectful will you? Here are some other shots from the park.
Please be respectful during your time here, as it is, after all, a cemetery.

JAPANESE CEMETERY PARK
Located in Hougang, this is the largest Japanese cemetery in Southeast Asia and the final resting place for the first Japanese to live in Singapore. Hougang's serene residential neighborhood preserves the important legacy of the Japanese population in Singapore. The Japanese Cemetery occupies an area of 30,000 square meters and contains nearly 1,000 graves of Japanese civilians and soldiers in Singapore, most of which date back to the early 20th century. Founded by three Japanese pimps, this cemetery was built in 1891 as a burial ground for karayuki-san, or Japanese women. who were brought to Singapore as commercial sex workers; many of them died poor and destitute. Over the years that followed, other Japanese civilians were buried here, mostly before the war. Until 1947, these places became burial grounds, and were only named a memorial in 1987. The Singapore Japan Association united them. This manicured garden also houses the ashes of Japanese pilots, marines, and soldiers who died#nationalpark #unforgettableexperiences
