🏨 'Accommodation Strategy'
I stayed at the Ninghai Sheraton Hotel this time, not far from Ninghai High-speed Railway Station and the highway exit, and also not far from the various attractions we were going to. I think the environment is good. The entrance is an oriental-style waterscape and garden, reflecting the philosophical musings on 'mountains' at the beginning of 'Xu Xiake's Travel Notes', which coincides with the feeling this city gives me. Next to it is Tianming Lake Park, and you can also visit the park in the morning, quite comfortable.
.
🍜 'Food Strategy'
The seafood here is delicious, although there are not many types of seafood now, but there are also many choices, green crabs, grouper, various miscellaneous fish are all delicious. I recommend Caiyue Xuan Chinese Restaurant, their crab rice cake is so good. There are also Qiantong pancakes and various bean products which are local specialties.
.
If you feel tired from work, why not come to this comfortable seaside town for a visit!
.
Every family has a flowing stream, and every household has carved beams
was founded at the end of the Song Dynasty and reached its peak during the Ming and Qing dynasties, still preserving more than 1,300 various ancient residential buildings to this day. The local Tong family began to settle here during the Shaoding period of the Southern Song Dynasty. In the early Ming Dynasty, Tong Bolai invited Fang Xiaoru to lecture here twice, forming the cultural style of the ancient village with 'little bridges and flowing water in every courtyard, and ancient alleys and courtyards hiding art and literature.'
The cultural atmosphere of this place is very unique, without deliberate ostentation or imitation, only the strong ancient charm and vivid rural scenery. Here, you can hear the rhythm of the beautiful Jiangnan silk and bamboo music. 'Every family has carved beams, and every household has flowing water,' this is the biggest feature that distinguishes Qiantong from other ancient towns! It is said that in ancient times, the natural conditions of Tong Town were harsh, and the harvest depended entirely on the weather. The ancestors of the Tong surname spared no effort and introduced water into the village according to the principles of the Bagua, creating the unique 'Bagua Water System' in the ancient architectural clusters of Jiangnan, creating a wonderful scenery that is not a water town but is better than a water town!
Walking on the quiet bluestone paths of the ancient town, one is reminded of a distant Jiangnan dream. On both sides of the old street paved with flagstones and cobblestones, there are shops with long plank facades, and nearby there are groups of ancient buildings with exquisite craftsmanship that are still perfectly preserved to this day. Walking among them seems to take people's thoughts back to the distant past~
Qiantong ancient town is unexpectedly nice to stroll around
📮 Ninghai's Qiantong ancient town is bigger and nicer to walk around than I imagined. This ancient town has a real sense of life, and you can savor it slowly~
📮 In front of every household in this ancient town, there is a scene of small bridges over flowing water, with stone steps and ancient paths, which are very tasteful~
You need to buy a ticket🎫 to enter, 50 yuan (depending on platform discounts), and parking🅿️ is free~
📯 Main attractions to check in: Mingjing Hall, Zhisiqi Residence, Tong's Ancestral Hall, old movie theater, and this is also the filming location of 'The Barber'🎬 Qiantong Post Office is also a popular photo spot for many people~
📯 Three treasures for foodies:
Stinky tofu, hollow tofu, and dried tofu~
📯 The saying 'the river water does not reach the well water' is also a feature here~
Qiantong Ancient Town | The Little Lijiang of the South
Qiantong Ancient Town may not be as famous as Wuzhen or Xitang, but it is very well-preserved and is known as the Little Lijiang of the South. The scenic area is not very commercialized, and the few restaurants there are similarly priced and not expensive. The 'Three Treasures of Qiantong' refer to three ways of eating tofu (stinky tofu, hollow tofu, and dried tofu), which are the local specialty foods.
☑️ Located in Ninghai County, it takes half an hour to 40 minutes to get there by taxi from the main urban area. Qiantong Ancient Town has a complete set of Ming and Qing architectural complexes and is the largest settlement of the Tong surname in the south of the Yangtze River. It is a town with the ancient charm of Confucian culture. In 2007, it was awarded the title of China's Historical and Cultural Famous Town.
☑️ tips: The ticket is 50 yuan per person, and after 5 pm, you can enter without a ticket 🎫. However, many shops close in the evening, which might make it a bit quiet. But the night view with the lights is still nice. Do not wander into the alleys, as it is easy to get lost.
☑️ Here, 'every family has carved beams, and every household has running water'.
It's like an ancient rural painting with a strong charm, a beautiful and moving piece of Jiangnan silk music. Ancient relics such as Xiaonv Lake, Miao Lake, Zhisi Hall, Scholar's Bridge, and Nangong Temple still exist today. The Tong family ancestral hall designed by Fang Xiaoru at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty is still largely intact. At night, you can hear the elderly singing and playing the piano 🎹, a lively talent show that brings the ancient town to life.
☑️ The old street of the ancient town is flanked by shops with long plank doors. Adjacent to the old street is a group of ancient buildings that are still intact to this day, with exquisitely carved beams, doors, and windows. The leaping fish and horse head walls, as well as the ridge-sculpted wall flowers, have a unique local style. The horse head wall is a symbol of the power of the ancient wealthy families and officials in the south of the Yangtze River; it is said that the more tiers, the higher the position. There are also many homestays here, where you can stay for a day to experience the local customs.
Family, who knows! Zhejiang's Da Ninghai is just too beautiful!

The second stop was Guangde Temple, which is a temple with a bit of Tang Dynasty style, not the bright yellow exterior walls, but white wooden structures, very large, but the main entrance is currently not accessible, remember to go through the east gate!🙏🙏🙏
The third stop was Qiantong Ancient Town, the filming location for the movie 'The Barber', where you can capture the whole panorama without a drone, just by going up the hill opposite.🎥🎥🎥
The fourth stop was the seaside highway in Qiangjiao Town, which is the 'Little Jeju Island' mentioned online, where you can see the seascape along the road.🛣️🛣️🛣️
The fifth stop was the Sheraton Ninghai, where the outdoor seating for afternoon tea has a backdrop of several tall buildings, really stylish!😜😜😜
The sixth stop was the Jiajue Science Wharf, a great place to watch the sunset, with a Sunset Tea Break Cafe by the sea.🌅🌅🌅
The seventh stop was Ninghai Forest Hot Spring - Guo Jin Zen Temple, where you can go for hot springs in winter and for summer retreat, with very lush vegetation.🌳🌳🌳
The eighth stop was the Again Coffee Shop by the seaside in Qiangjiao Town, which is currently being renovated and looks like it will be ready soon.🤩🤩🤩
The ninth stop was the Haiyu English Afternoon Tea by the seaside in Qiangjiao Town.🍰🍰🍰
The tenth stop was the Ninghai Bay Hengshan Island Scenic Area, where you can get to Hengshan Island by boat from the Fisherman's Wharf, and here you can see the beautiful sea blue.🐳🐳🐳
When in Ninghai, of course, you can't forget to eat delicious food!😋😋😋
You must try the grass paste and Magnolia freeze, the mint flavor inside is the memory of my childhood summers.🍹🍹🍹
If you go out to sea from Hengshan Island, don't forget to eat the small seafood!🦀🦀🦀
This trip really made me take a fresh look at Ninghai, its beautiful scenery and delicious food made me linger and forget to return.🤗🤗🤗
If you also want to go on a trip on a whim, consider Ninghai!💗💗💗

From Ningbo, take the high-speed rail, as long as you can reach Ninghai County in half an hour, Qiantong Ancient Town is located in Qiantong Town, Ninghai County. The ancient town began in the Southern Song Dynasty, dating back nearly 800 years, still retaining the quaint style.
Compared with some other popular ancient towns, there are no bustling tourists here, more quiet and leisurely, without excessive commercial development.
The ancient ancestors ancestors called Tong Huang, stumbled upon this piece of Feng Shui in the course of a tour, so the family moved from Taizhou, where they lived in front of Huiming Temple as a former child, a resident of the ancient town. Most are child names.
Qiantong Ancient Town has retained more than 1,300 original ancient dwellings, and there are many ancient buildings such as the academy, the old street and the ancestral hall. The local architectural style is also very distinctive. The household has live water."
Walk in the ancient town, you can see the signboard of Before the Three Treasures everywhere, whether it is a farmhouse or a street stall. These are the special snacks of the three former children's towns, referring to the old tofu, dried fragrant and oil tofu, the price Not expensive and delicious.
The most distinctive, these are all the alleys. The small alleys in the ancient town are all in all directions, some are extremely narrow, usually quiet and quiet, the locals live in the ancient town, only one old street is more lively and prosperous.
There are many traditional courtyard houses in the eastern part of Zhejiang Province, which retain the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. They combine brick carving, wood carving and stone carving, showing the unique style of the hometown of five craftsmen.
Mingjingtang is a well-preserved ancient building in the ancient town. It was built in the Qing Dynasty light years. The courtyard is covered with the pattern of "lion hydrangea". The "Mingjing" plaque is hung on the door, and the " etiquette" is molded on the left and right sides. The word "filial piety" is the representative of the ancient town courtyard.
Tong's Ancestral Hall was built in Ming Hongwu for 18 years. The main hall retains the Ming Dynasty style and was designed by Fang Xiaoyu personally. The raw materials of Qiantong Sanbao are mostly June soybeans. They are also the dry beans in the local population. They are soaked in spring water from the roof of Huading Mountain and then put into rice sieves. The taste is long and long.
Walk on the path of the former boy and taste the former child's three treasures, as if the winds of the Song Dynasty, the rain of the Ming Dynasty will come from ancient times, if you have thought through this moment The journey of the ages and the sacred journey.
I have traveled through the four ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. My excessive commercial infestation has made me feel uncomfortable about the ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. However, when I walked into the former Tonggu Town, which was built in the Song Dynasty and is currently dominated by Ming and Qing architecture, such a modern Jiangnan County has unexpectedly preserved the most original natural and human elements, the ancient villages and localities here. The human lifestyle has a true ancient charm.
Entering the gate of the ancient town, the first thing that enters the line of sight is a shallow ditch that comes along the wall of the house. This ditch is built into the "water gossip" according to the principle of gossip. The house is built along the water, and the stream flows through the front of the house. Everyone can wash tea and wash clothes. The buildings here are mainly in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including ancestral halls, folk houses, ancient wells and old streets. The outer walls are all green slate, the courtyard houses are wooden structures, and the old streets and courtyards are covered with local pebbles. There are many big families, the door is engraved with family training, and the house is equipped with beautiful stone window.
Traveler Xu Xiake used this as the opening of the famous travelogue. "The March of the Ugly (the May 5th of the Gregorian calendar), from the Ninghai out of the West Gate, the clouds scattered, Everyone has a happy state." Today, the bricks and tiles here are as calm as the millennium.
# Meet Xu Xiake
The former Tonggu Town is relatively remote, the traffic is not convenient, the ancient town is very complete, there is not much commercial development, and there are not many tourists. In general, it is worthwhile.
From Shanghai, take the train to Ninghai Railway Station. After exiting the station, there is bus K116 to the West Bus Station. From here, transfer to the urban and rural bus to get off the front child, which is the former Tonggu Town.
Qiantong Ancient Town is a typical Zhedong style ancient town, which is totally different from the common Jiangnan water town architecture.
The guiding signs in the scenic area are very clear. There are several large courtyards open to the public, but it is best to have a presentation by the instructor to understand the subtleties. The pavement of the village is mostly paved with cobblestones. There are two streams near the former Tonggu Town, which are rich in pebbles. The locals build houses and pave the way.
Mingjingtang is an old house built in the Daoguang Period of the Qing Dynasty. The word "Mingjing" was established by the order of Emperor Guangxu of Zhejiang Xuezheng.
The walls of the house in the village are mottled and have experienced countless wind and rain.
This is also a courtyard building, and there are still many locals living there. The
Mingjingtang yard was paved with cobblestones in the shape of a gossip, and the owner was very careful when building the house.
