#Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Macau tourist attractions, all sorted with a mini-program!
Macau is small, but it's rich in cultural and sightseeing spots, such as world heritage sites, historical buildings, museums, churches, temples, parks, and more. Details of the attractions can be found on the mini-program of the , which is very convenient👏
After organizing the places I want to visit, I found that 90% of them are on the Macau Peninsula. Staying here would offer a great experience. The Sofitel at Ponte 16, located on the banks of the Pearl River, is also one of the nearby high-rise buildings. From the windows of the rooms, you can see the entire Macau Peninsula, and all the stories of Macau are within sight📷
🤓Fugu Bao says, 'The buildings here grow so densely, but the deliciousness is in these 2-meter-wide alleys!' When did you start to understand this...
Every year, the eighth day of the fourth lunar month is Macau's Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival , the Drunken Dragon Festival. I wasn't sure if it would be held before coming, so I took my chances. Fortunately, the weather was nice, and I saw the entire event at the Largo do Senado. There were special instruments and a drunken sacrificial dance, different from the traditional dragon dance. Macau's 'Drunken Dragon' only has the dragon head and tail, with the dancers staggering as if drunk, while others accompany them and pour drinks along the way. It looks very interesting. Participants of all ages were involved, and I didn't expect the youth of Macau to be interested in intangible cultural heritage.
Largo do Senado is a very central location in the old town, and it's also where many of Macau's must-visit attractions are densely located, such as the Ruins of St. Paul's, the Church of St. Dominic, the Monte Fort, the Macau Museum...
And for Fugu Bao, the tech-savvy content is also attractive. The Macau Science Center is a must-visit, and if you're interested in racing, the Grand Prix Museum is also a great place.
In June, the midday temperature in Macau is already quite hot, and there's nothing more relaxing than soaking in the hotel pool , having afternoon tea under the shade of trees, playing in the water, and watching the sunset over Macau Island. The hotel's restaurants are also very good, where you can taste romantic French cuisine at Prive or authentic Cantonese dishes at the Chinese restaurant, which is also popular with local residents for dim sum at noon .

Buffet Dinner at Sofitel Macau
The food at this hotel is nothing short of delicious. Whenever I go to Macau, the hotel I want to go to is the Sofitel. It may not have the beauty as the Cotai hotels but the Sofitel has a beauty that is vintage and unique. The breakfast is only 98 MOP which is very affordable, and the variety offered is wonderful. #macau #sofitel #vacation #hotel #fivestar #dinner #buffet #seafood #deliciousfood

Staying here is the most convenient for a leisurely food tour in Macau
This time, taking the kids to Macau, we chose the Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16. Two families shared a suite, which was convenient for the kids to play together
We didn't manage to buy direct flights at suitable times, so we chose to travel via Zhuhai. It was more convenient than I imagined! It takes about 40 minutes by taxi from Zhuhai Jinwan Airport to the Wanzai Port. At the port, you just need to walk a few steps to board the boat, and then it's about a five-minute journey to the other side (Macau), which is quite effortless and convenient! You can buy ferry tickets in advance on 'Macau Yue Tong Shipping' (if you miss one, you can take the next). Fill in the declaration in advance on the 'Customs Passenger Fingertip Service' mini-program, and the whole process is very smooth~ After disembarking, turn left and walk for 2 minutes to arrive, no need for a taxi (it's quite hard to hail a cab in Macau)
The sightseeing route from the hotel is basically on foot. Cross the road at the zebra crossing on the left, follow Guolan Street (the street selling fruits) all the way to the end, on the left is Hong Xin Coconut Ice Cream 🍦, a few steps to the right is Rong Ji Tofu, and further ahead is Guan Qian Zheng Street, also known as Guan Qian Hui, which looks better at night. There's Pace cafe, A Zhi Noodle House, Tryangel cafe. At the end of Guan Qian Hui, turn left uphill and then left again to reach the Ruins of St. Paul's, the Monte Fort, and the Macau Museum, and then to the Pó Tai Un (about a 5-7 minute walk) Fong Tang Gallery Art Center, where the colorful houses are great for taking photos 📷
We went to Le Xuan Huayue Dim Sum Restaurant twice! Each time there were many local elderly people dining there, the taste is authentic and the ingredients visibly fresh. You must try the Green Bean Pork Crisp & Wonton Chicken 👍 The Wonton Chicken is a must-order for families with kids! The soup is savory, the meat tender, and the portion is generous ✌️ The French restaurant Pai Yi Fang at Sofitel is also great! The group purchase price is super cost-effective, and the view from the window seats is good 👍

Stunning the entire circle of friends! Not in France! In Macau!
🇲🇴Macau, one side is glitzy, the other side is down-to-earth.
Compared to Taipa, I love the Macau Peninsula more.
Colorful houses, the old town's atmosphere,
Rich cultural history and Portuguese architectural charm.
Yes, in Macau! Not France!
This set of photos amazed my entire circle of friends.
📷Treasure Hotel Macau, a niche photography spot.
I've been to Macau more than 5 times, and this time I came to Macau for a two-day and one-night stay in a relaxed holiday manner. Staying at the Sofitel on the Peninsula, it's like vacationing abroad without leaving the country! 🌟When in Macau, don't miss this treasure of a photogenic hotel‼️
💙Outdoor Plaza
Summer's colorful dopamine, 'Foodie Cat' is so cute! Summer check-in elements are super eye-catching! Whether passersby or guests, they can't help but take photos, the fresh vibe is too photogenic.
🏨Hotel Exterior
Take the entire hotel building as the background! Medieval European style, giant crystal chandeliers, French retro vibe. Busy night street scenes, twinkling stars in the rooms, looks great whether shot from the outdoor plaza or across the street.
🍹Sofitel Executive Lounge
An amazing spot that wows the circle of friends! A stunning panoramic view of the Macau Peninsula! Facing the Grand Lisboa, with St. Paul's to the left and Macau Tower to the right, overlooking the hills of Coloane in the distance. Stay in an executive suite and enjoy complimentary executive floor club privileges, including French afternoon tea, twilight cocktails, and buffet breakfast. Enjoy the cityscape of the peninsula while savoring delicious food and wine, honestly, I could stay in the hotel from morning till night~
🖤Sofitel Ponte 16 Marble Lobby
A treasure spot for photography! Almost no one passes by in the morning, directly monopolizing the entire 'movie set', with spiral staircases and giant chandeliers, understated elegance, every casual shot is retro~
💛Ponte 16 Sofitel's Exclusive Rooms
Only 19 rooms in Ponte 16 Sofitel are exclusively for guests! Fresh and elegant in yellow and white, French-style arch murals, too beautiful for photos~
🏝️Outdoor Swimming Pool
Everyone must go to the pool to relax, enjoy the view of Macau's Inner Harbor, gaze at Zhuhai across the water, watch the sunset in the evening, and take stunning photos!
This is my second stay at Sofitel Ponte 16, and I've deeply unlocked this treasure of a hotel. City view rooms overlook the old city of the peninsula, and sea view rooms offer panoramic views of Macau's Inner Harbor and Zhuhai across the water. 🌟The rooms are not overly luxurious in decor, understated and retro, French style, with attention to detail everywhere. If it's your first time in Macau and you want to check off the World Heritage sites in one go, then staying here is definitely the right choice!
🏨Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16
📍Rua do Visconde Paco de Arcos, close to San Ma Lo, Rua de Cinco de Outubro, and Freguesia da Sé, within walking distance to attractions like Ruins of St. Paul's, Senado Square, and Guia Fortress.

Confortable hotel room with a nice view
Front desk staff was very efficient in checking us in/out.
The room was quiet, and the hotel had a free shuttle to the port.
Also got two free vouchers for a pork chop bun and coupon for the hotel restaurants on check-in.
Location is very convenient, close to all transports and nearby old Macau popular places(Culture of Macau).
Highly recommended!

Lunch buffet at Sofitel 🙌🏻
I booked a birthday here on Mistral became l just want a chill and relax hassle free birthday for him, and let me just say that I was not wrong for choosing to celebrate here on Mistral, I would like to thank specifically Ms. Mary, for assisting me on my booking preparing everything I requested (birthday cake on the plate), the table where i want to be seated. Everything is all set up. And also to the staff all I can say is they always listen to the customers request, and always there instantly when you need them I asked them their names because I am happy for their assistance, Mr. Mark, Ms. Anna, Mr. Brian, Ms. Shirley and Ms. Annie. Thank you all so much. We will definitely go back here and bring our families and friends. I will definitely recommend this friendly restaurant, not just about staff but their foods is also great, specially the desserts not too sweet (which is I like) and i'm so happy they have adobo. Love it super!!!
Highly recommended 💯💯

Enjoying the city view of Macau, a French hotel in the Peninsula area
I've been to Taipa many times
This time I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel at Ponte 16 in the Peninsula of Macau
Adjacent to the historic city area, surrounded by World Heritage sites
The whole house is French and Portuguese style, full of extreme leisure and cultural atmosphere
The large floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlook the Macau Tower
The swimming pool is also worth a visit, full of French romantic style

Macau Peninsula·Half a day
Here we go again! This time I stayed for three nights, and I feel like I didn't take many photos There are still a lot of things I haven't eaten, I have to come again~
🗓Itinerary:
This time I entered from the Hengqin port, the first two nights I booked the Conrad Hotel in Taipa; the last night I still chose the Sofitel at Ponte 16 on the peninsula, the location is too superior~
🌟Highlights:
This time I checked in places I didn't go last time
1, Fong Tong Lane is located in the central location of Macau, completely preserving many Portuguese buildings that have been around for a hundred years. Here you can see ancient churches, exquisite Portuguese houses, and century-old mansions that have been baptized over the years. It is definitely a great place for artistic photography.
2, Rua da Felicidade
I came here because of Cheong Kee, but it takes four days to rest, but this street is also worth seeing! Rua da Felicidade is an ancient street in the central area of the Macau Peninsula, with a history of several hundred years. It used to be a prosperous commercial area, including nearby Fulong New Street, Fulong New Lane, Qinghe Lane, Baiyantang, etc. Rua da Felicidade is divided into upper and lower sections. The upper half is a gathering place for brothels and teahouses, and the lower half of the street is a gathering place for smoking rooms and restaurants; it starts to be lively when night falls, beautiful women, tycoons, night after night of singing and dancing, paper drunk gold fans... until the end of World War II. Now, along "Rua da Felicidade", there are various restaurants, restaurants, snack shops and dessert shops, and many foodies will come here to enjoy food.
3, Dongwangyang New Street
National Geographic photo check-in block! Dongwangyang New Street was built in the late 19th century and was one of the famous commercial streets in southern China at that time. This place used to be a place where various merchants gathered, gathering many trading companies and firms. Over time, Dongwangyang New Street gradually developed into the commercial center of Macau, witnessing the changes in Macau's modern history. The architectural style of Dongwangyang New Street is unique, blending elements of the East and the West. The buildings here are mainly brick and stone structures, with bright colors and unique shapes. At the same time, the arcade design on both sides of the street is also one of its features, providing a place for pedestrians to shelter from the sun and rain. This architectural style not only has aesthetic value, but also shows the diversity of Macau's history and culture.
🚉Transportation strategy:
These places can be walked to with the Ruins of St. Paul as the center, and you have to walk if you take a bus, they are all small streets and alleys. If you have good physical strength and good legs and feet, you can walk completely. If you are tired, just order a cup of coffee and drink a cup of milk tea...
📝Note tips:
This time I really feel that Macau is small~ The area is indeed small! The relationship between people in the old city of the peninsula is also very close! But Macau is also very big, it is definitely not enough to come once, compared to the tall Taipa, the old city of the peninsula is more attractive!

When you have nothing to do, go shopping
In addition to wandering around the streets of Macau to find some personal favorite food flavors, you can also walk around to find some historically significant landmark buildings to see, and understand more or less about the local history.

Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 | Stroll through the streets and alleys to experience the luxury of Portuguese style.
China's Macau has always been a crossroads of Chinese and Western cultures, with the historic old town just a street away from the glittering entertainment city. On one side are the old streets and alleys with remaining charm, while on the other side is a lively scene of lights and colors. Yet there are always a few people willing to "waste" a lot of time wandering the streets and reading history.
🗓Itinerary: Classic two-day tour
DAY 1️⃣: Ruins of St. Paul's - Mount Fortress - Macau Museum - St. Dominic's Church - Senado Square - Macau Tower - City of Dreams - The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel
DAY 2️⃣: Long Huan Portuguese-style Residential Museum - Guanye Street - St. Francis Xavier Church - Coloane Island
🏨Hotel recommendation:
Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16
❤️Recommendation reason:
The Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 hotel boasts a panoramic view of the Inner Harbour and is adjacent to the historic city center, with UNESCO world heritage sites such as the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral just steps away.
❣️Art and Culture
Most of the hotel rooms offer a view of the Ruins of St. Paul's. In addition, a series of murals featuring China's Macau World Heritage and Inner Harbor themes by reclusive painters can be seen in the hotel corridors and lobby, allowing you to enjoy the unique scenery of Macau without leaving your room. When you step out of the hotel, it's hard to imagine how close the Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 is to the nearby traditional residential area and historic World Heritage sites.
🛏Guest room environment:
All rooms have panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Inner Harbor of Macau, overlooking the charming riverbank or the city skyline. The guest room design is simple and elegant, with Sofitel's exclusive Sofitel MYBED sleep bed providing you with comfortable sleep, and French Lanvin bathroom amenities showcasing taste and luxury.
‼️Friendly reminder:
Every time I go to Macau, I stay at the Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 hotel and book the basic deluxe room, which always gets upgraded for free to a high-floor sea view room. The sea view room is really great, so frequent guests have an advantage!
