#The Art Institute of Chicago Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Visit The Art Institute of Chicago
A perfect place to explore in a cold snowy day. Located very close to Millenium Park.
The Highlights of this place were definitely the Van Gogh exhibits, specifically the self portrait. The other favourite was the Miniature Rooms exhibits at LL.
General admission was $25 per person and free admission for below 14 years. What an awesome deal.
The galleries were beautifully presented.

Chicago is home to world-class attractions for arts and culture, and on the top of that list is the Art Institute of Chicago! This impressive Chicago museum located in Grant Park is one of the largest and oldest art museums in the world, and is also one of the best things to do in Chicago.
Famous works like The Bedroom by Vincent van Gogh, American Gothic by Grant Wood, and so many others can be found here. The diverse collection spans centuries, different art periods and styles, and even geography.
the Art Institute is actually the second-largest art museum in America. It features three floors, 264,000 total square feet, and countless wings of special exhibitions and galleries.
In addition to the museum’s expansive permanent collection, special exhibits are always rotating. Public events take place here often, too. The Art Institute is also home to the Ryerson & Burnham Library, which has a large and impressive collection for research.

An art tour, the Chicago Art Museum
Millennium Park, is the 100-year-old art museum. The museum was built in 1879 and officially opened in 1893. With a total area of about 90,000 square meters and a collection of about 300,000 pieces of art, it is the second largest art museum in the United States. The two big lions at the doorway feel like art.
This world-class art museum brings together the essence of human creativity for the past 40 centuries. It houses a large collection of exhibits, mainly Greek, Roman, European and American art. It also collects art from India, Nanyang, China, Japan, Korea, Africa and the Americas. Perhaps the most famous is the works of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters as well as American art. If you want to go shopping, maybe its not enough for a whole day,
Belarusian French painter Marc Chagall (1887-1985), "America Windows", created in In 1977, it was a dream, and it was my favorite painting.
Tips
1. Permanent collections and special photos are allowed in the museum. Most personal photos are not for commercial use. Some special works of art or exhibits are not allowed to take pictures. Do not use flash, tripod and camera when taking pictures. Please follow the rules in the library.
2. You can use the free handbags provided in the museum for valuables, and large bags need to be stored.
3. Please mute your phone in the museum and don't bother others to watch the show.

The Art Gallery of Chicago is one of the three major art galleries in the United States. The museum is very large and has a rich collection of exhibits. It can be called the Museum of Nations. The collection spans from the ancient pottery of ancient Egypt in 3000 BC to the contemporary pop art.
Impressionist works here are absolutely colorful stars, the museum contains a large number of famous paintings of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, including from Monet, Renoir, Degas and Van Gogh ( Van Gogh) The masterpieces of many masters, when they see these paintings, can be deeply touched by the colors in the paintings.
In addition, I especially liked one of the exhibits here: American Window, the blue glass has colorful paintings on it, it is very dreamy, it looks great.
The other 3rd floor contemporary sculpture garden is free to open, where you can enjoy great views of the city and reach the Millennium Park directly from the corridor.
Tickets: 23/adult, 17/student or senior (65 years and older), free for children under 14

"Our Chicago journey was truly unforgettable! From the stunning views at the Skydeck Chicago to the vibrant atmosphere of Navy Pier, we were constantly in awe of the beauty and energy of the city. Millennium Park's iconic Cloud Gate sculpture and the Art Institute of Chicago's impressive art collection left us inspired and enriched. The Magnificent Mile offered a perfect mix of shopping and dining, while Lincoln Park provided a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city. And of course, experiencing a game at Wrigley Field was a highlight we'll never forget. Overall, our time in Chicago was filled with amazing sights, delicious food, and warm hospitality. We can't wait to return and explore more of this incredible city!"#mytravelhacks

The Louvre of the USA 🇺🇸
I’ve visited one of the unique art galleries of the USA, located in Chicago, The Art Institute of Chicago. I enjoyed the exhibitions of the world art from Southeast Asian Buddhist statues to the surrealism painters of Europe. Just amazing collection!

The Art Institute of Chicago ✍🏼 ✨
An absolutely amazing art museum and a must see of Chicago. I visited on a weekday morning which had significantly less crowds than the weekends.
The entry way is beautiful and it's very easy to navigate around the museum due to the signage and provided maps. I especially like that there is a list of must sees on the back of the map for those who only have a short amount of time to visit like I did. 🥰
My favorite areas were probably the Impressionists and Ancient Egyptian pieces. The layout is easy to navigate and separated in distinct periods that makes sense, nothing detracts from the pieces themselves, and it's overall an amazing experience. ❤️

A large number of Impressionist paintings have made the Art Museum of Chicago the second-ranked art museum in the United States, focusing on art from Greece, Rome, Europe, and the United States, and combining Asian and African art. The
Chicago Art Museum is located in the heart of downtown Chicago, a few steps from Millennium Park. Tickets are 25 for adults and can be rented a Chinese-language guide, although the introduction of many famous paintings in the museum is still in English. The
museum is made up of three three-storey buildings. The exterior is Victorian and there are two huge bronze lions in front of the door, including the railway.
Collection exhibits are extremely rich, mainly painting and sculpture. The time span is from ancient pottery of ancient Egypt in 3000 BC to contemporary pop art, including good Chinese bronzes, Monet and Van Gogh's oil paintings.
This state-of-the-art art museum is known for its collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters and American art, such as Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Renault and more than 350 masterpieces. It is also one of the top three surrealist collections in the United States.
Along the grand staircase you can admire the exquisite pieces of the ruined historic Chicago landmark.
However, the Chicago Museum of Art's overall collection is a bit less than the Metropolitan Museum, the Boston Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Washington.
