At Paris and done with touristy stuff at the Eiffel area? Take a day trip via public train easily to Versailles area to Palace of Versailles.
it is a grand palace full of nice interior and statues; worth checking out.
Recommended to visit early morning, around 3-4 hours. Do pre book tickets in advance as it sells out.

Palace of Versailles
A first time trip to Paris requires a visit to the Palace of Versailles to learn how French royalty once indulged. There are frequent trains from Paris to Versailles, and then there is a short trek to the palace grounds (recommend to purchase all tickets online). Inside the palace are amazing displays of gold and artwork, showcasing the opulence and wealth of the former French empire. There are also garden tours, which I regrettably didn’t have enough time to explore, so I must leave that on my list of must dos for my next visit to Versailles!

Chateau de Versailles
The most famous French king has to be Louis XIV. The history of Versailles is inextricably linked with the figure of Louis XIV. Although the location existed for centuries before the sovereign, Louis XIV developed a genuine liking for Versailles early on, and decided to extend it beyond the chateau that had grown out of the hunting lodge of brick and stone first built by his father.
highly recommended to buy your tickets online rather than queue for tickets there as the queues go up to hours during peak seasons like summer.

The Garden of Palace of Versailles
The Garden of Palace of Versailles is a popular landmark which you should visit if you are in Versailles. Get up early as you might want to avoid the extreme sun and high temperatures. An early morning walking is pleasant and you will get less tired and sweaty.
The forest is well maintained, this place is clean and fresh air is everywhere. There are not restaurants or places to get food so bring your snacks and water.
The gardens and fountains are both a pleasure to see. Free access to locals ands tourists so don't worry about tickets only you need tickets to get inside the Palace..

🚉RER Line: You can take the RER C line directly from Paris, and it takes about 1 hour to reach Versailles Rive Gauche
🚃SNCF Train: From Paris's Montparnasse train station, you can take a train to Versailles Chantiers station, then it's about a 15-minute walk
🚗Taxi: You can take a taxi through Blot, a one-way trip takes about 30 minutes, and it costs around 30 euros, Uber is slightly more expensive
🚇Metro + 🚌Bus: Take the metro line 9, and transfer to bus 171 at Pont de Sevres station

Versailles Palace ticket 💶18 euros/person, Versailles Garden 💶10 euros/person, Grand Trianon Palace 💶12 euros/person. Passport ticket: 21.5 euros/person
Tickets can be purchased on the official website, with optional visiting times
If you buy the Paris Museum Pass, you can only visit the palace part, the garden area requires a separate ticket. It is worth noting that the pass also requires advance reservation of time

If you are staying in Paris I recommend you to do a day trip to Versailles. You will get lost in the multitude of rooms and palaces and gardens.
My recommendation is the Gran Trianon.
If you are like me, someone that enjoys the details and not to be on a rush I would recommend you just to go to the Grand Trianon and enjoy the day getting lost in each of the corners of the palace.
