This is a relatively large hotel. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were self-service, which was very convenient. However, they didn't provide any skincare products. Nowadays, many hotels offer facial cleanser, makeup remover, toner, and lotion, so this is an area where they could improve. I stayed here twice during this trip. The first time, they said I got an upgrade, and the room even had a capsule coffee machine, which was a nice touch. The second stay also claimed an upgrade, but the coffee machine was missing, so it seems there's a significant difference between room types. Now, about the location: the hotel is actually a few minutes' walk further from the Shinkansen JR station compared to other hotels on the same street. However, it's very close to Aeon Mall; you just turn left when you exit, which is a big plus. The mall closes at 9 PM and the supermarket at 10 PM. It takes about 6-7 minutes to walk to the bus stop, so it depends on individual needs. Overall, for the price, staying here offers great value for money.

I rarely review hotels, but this one was definitely the best stay of my trip. Even though it's been open for 5 years, it still feels brand new. The bathroom was so clean I thought it had just been used. The hotel also has a hot spring, but it's public and doesn't provide towels, which is a minor drawback. The front desk service was good, and breakfast was decent. Overall, it's excellent value for money. The location is super convenient, just a minute's walk to the Railway Museum and the JR station. Facilities: Very new Cleanliness: Very good Ambiance: Quite good Service: Okay

Excellent hotel with a fantastic location. The public transport links nearby are great; within a 5-minute walk, you can find subway, private railway, and bus stations. There's also a small and a large supermarket right next door downstairs, plus a convenience store across the street. A really good choice!

The hotel's location is great, and the rooms are clean and spacious. They offer free parking, and the breakfast selection is quite good and tasty. It's very convenient, as most attractions are within a few kilometers. There are also many yakitori and yakiniku restaurants nearby, and an Aeon supermarket is just a few hundred meters away. The hotel even provides a shuttle bus to JR Isetan department store. This hotel offers excellent value for money; the free parking alone saves you about 100 yuan a day. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium for two nights and had a really enjoyable experience. The room was very clean and well maintained, and the space was more generous than expected, making the stay comfortable and relaxing. The pricing was very affordable for what was offered, especially considering the excellent facilities available. The public bath was a great way to unwind after a long day of sightseeing, and the gym and washing area were very convenient for travelers. Service from the staff was excellent throughout my stay—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and great value for money. I only wish my stay could have been longer, and I definitely hope to return again in the future.

Traveling solo, the room was spacious enough! I stayed for three nights during the tail end of maple season for just over 800 (yen/currency unspecified, assuming local currency based on context), and it even included two meals! Both meals were palatable, and I especially loved the vegetables with vinaigrette. Japanese vegetables are expensive, but here they were unlimited, which was fantastic! Eating a meal before heading out in the morning, and then coming back to the hotel tired from exploring just in time for dinner – it was perfect! It's not far from Kyoto Station, and I enjoy walking, so strolling along and admiring the plants and architecture on both sides of the street was quite interesting. There's a beautiful row of ginkgo trees along the road in front of the hotel.

Conveniently located near the JR Shinkansen line and right next to Don Quijote, this hotel offers rooms that are quite spacious for Japan and excellent value for money. Upon check-in, we also received two complimentary homemade cookies from the hotel. They also offer luggage delivery directly to your room.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Karasuma Oike subway station, just three stops from Kyoto Station. Being able to take the subway instead of a bus is incredibly convenient; I can't imagine trying to squeeze onto a bus with large suitcases. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet alley, not directly on the street, so it's very peaceful at night with no loud motorcycles. There's also a 7-Eleven nearby, which is handy for grabbing essentials. Although the room is small, it's well-designed and perfectly adequate, and very clean. I even felt the bathroom was a bit more spacious than those I've experienced at Sotetsu hotels before. Having a microwave and vending machine on every floor is also a huge plus, very convenient.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay this time. The room was prepared exactly as I requested, which I really appreciated. My room included executive lounge access, offering snacks, drinks, coffee, tea, and alcohol – a great place to sit and relax. The room facilities were meticulously maintained, and all appliances were quiet. My only minor complaint was the hairdryer, which was a bit old-fashioned and took a long time to dry my hair. The hotel staff, including the front desk and shuttle service, were exceptionally professional, very considerate, and provided excellent, personalized service. The shuttle bus stop at Kyoto Station is located behind the station, near the Hachijo East Exit, in the area where taxis and buses pick up passengers. It runs conveniently from 8 AM to 8:30 PM. You can see the exact location in my last two photos.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves. When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service. The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point. There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

GGuest UserThis hotel boasts a quiet location, tucked away on a peaceful lane, yet it's only about a 10-minute walk to the bustling city center and many attractions, which I really appreciated. The staff were friendly and polite, and the room hygiene met standards. The hot spring was uncrowded and clean, both inside and out. The only thing that wasn't ideal was the hotel restaurant. I had dinner there once, the tempura set, and it was all tempura, which was quite greasy. The combination of dishes wasn't very healthy or refined. Other than that, I was very satisfied and would choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

The breakfast spread was the best I’ve had in Japan … includes very good ala carte options as well. Would definitely recommend to all visiting Kyoto.

KKuailedexiaoyaojingwxgThe location is the biggest advantage, right inside the JR train station. Kyoto Theater is downstairs from the hotel. Across the street is Isetan, and downstairs is the Porta shopping mall, which has countless dining options. In front of the station, there are taxi and bus stops. Behind the station are various long-distance bus terminals and hotel shuttle stops, as well as the airport shuttle station. The entire commercial area is well-designed, and the hotel is perfectly situated within it. The room size is generous, allowing 2-3 large suitcases to be laid flat. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, and the toilet has its own private space. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

MMiiiii08I brought my parents to Kyoto and we stayed at this hotel. The triple room was incredibly spacious, much larger than the double rooms I've stayed in before. It was clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene. The private onsen comes highly recommended! My parents also had a fantastic stay. All in all, it's a perfect score! Service: Check-in was at 3 PM, and the front desk service was thoughtful and thorough. They explained the hotel facilities very clearly. (If you don't speak Japanese, there are staff who speak English.) Facilities: It's a very traditional Japanese-style room, which my parents loved. The public bathing area was also very clean, and the private onsen was super comfortable. The hotel signage was clear, and every detail was meticulously thought out – really impressive! Breakfast: The buffet breakfast offered a wide and diverse selection, with both Western and Japanese options, and plenty of delicious desserts! We were absolutely stuffed~

GGuest UserOnline hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

戴戴维When I booked the hotel, I specifically requested a high floor. The standard check-in time was 3 PM, and our family of three arrived around 3:45 PM to check in. To my surprise, the front desk attendant, a tall Japanese man wearing glasses, assigned us a room on the lowest possible floor, the second floor. I communicated with him for about ten minutes, reiterating our request for a high floor. The front desk attendant was very arrogant, claiming that our reservation didn't show any request for a high floor and insisting that the hotel was fully booked for the day. He said that if we wanted a high floor, we would have to switch rooms tomorrow. Of course, we understand that high floor requests depend on the hotel's availability on the day, but this hotel has around 400 rooms, and we didn't arrive late at night. The hotel has nine floors in total; we would have been perfectly fine with a room on the 4th or 5th floor, especially since we were staying for three nights with a child. If it were just one night, we might have just put up with it. Despite our efforts, the communication was fruitless. After going up to the room, I called the front desk again to request a room change. Less than five minutes later, the same front desk attendant appeared with a room key for the 9th floor. So, we dragged our luggage and our child up to the 9th floor, only to find it was the very last room, furthest from the elevator. Later, I contacted Trip.com's customer service, who were very helpful and contacted the hotel. The next day, the front desk informed us that they could arrange a room closer to the elevator, but we had already unpacked our luggage, so we decided not to switch rooms again. The front desk then offered us a complimentary room cleaning for the day. All in all, the entire check-in process was incredibly frustrating. It felt like that front desk attendant was intentionally making things difficult for us! On a positive note, the hotel's location is excellent and convenient for getting around. The breakfast was similar to other Dormy Inn hotels, and they also offered free ramen at night. However, the dining area was extremely crowded due to group tours. The variety of hot spring baths was better than other Dormy Inn hotels, but there were no semi-outdoor baths.

FfongThe rooms are decent. There's a communal bath, which is kind of like a hot spring, though the water is just regular tap water – it was clean and hygienic. On the second floor, there's a ping-pong table, an all-you-can-drink bar, and a small kids' play area. It feels like a friendly little community. The staff are all polite and attentive. There's an aquarium very close by, and the hotel has a back entrance for direct access. We didn't realize this until we walked all the way around in the rain! There's a surface parking lot if you drive, costing 2500 yen per day for unlimited use, but the small road leading in can be a bit tricky to find.
