The Master of the Net Garden was built in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 AD). The former site of the "Wanjutang" of Yangzhou literati Shi Zhengzhi, who was a collector and official to Shilang in the Song Dynasty. The garden was called "Fishing Yin" and was abandoned. During the Qing Qianlong period (about 1770 AD), the retired Guangxu Temple Shaoqing Song Zongyuan purchased and rebuilt. The park is called the "Netmaster Park".
