Romantic Hotels in Shanxi, China

My experience staying at this hotel as below. 1. They provide pickup and drop off from the train station. The day before the Inn contacted me to make arrangement for the pickup. Then they arranged to drive me back to station on the day I leave. Service was efficient and prompt. Much appreciated. 2. I was able to use the washing machine to wash come clothes which was much needed. Comb and toiletries were provided. So grateful for these little necessities as I left mine at the previous hotel. 3. The boss upgraded me to a bigger and better room because it was the low season. The kang bed was so comfortable and firm. I had the best sleep so far at this Inn. I'm so happy. 4. The Inn is inside the old city and practically next to one of the city gates. Very convenient for sightseeing old Pingyao city. 5. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Boss also gave me a bottle of vinegar. Wish I could take it back to UK with me. 6. The price of this Inn is also very reasonable and affordable. 7. Pingyao is a beautiful, ancient old city. Worth coming. I highly recommend staying here. What a pleasant surprise this stay was! (´▽`) The location is excellent, right next to the district government and very close to the ancient city, making it super convenient for getting around. There's a delicious knife-cut noodle place nearby that opens at 6:30 AM, and the Tangjiu convenience store next door also opens early. The first floor has a lovely book bar where you can borrow books for free, and they serve coffee and cocktails – perfect for enjoying a drink while reading. So many interesting books too! I also really loved their decor; the tatami mat rooms have a dedicated reading table, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable. The disposable amenities were comprehensive, and that horse oil toiletries set left me feeling moisturized inside and out (in a good way!). What really stood out during my stay were the front desk ladies. They were all so wonderful, always greeting us warmly when we returned. Their service was incredibly attentive and so heartwarming! 🥺 Any request we had was met quickly. Thanks to them, I've been sleeping so well these past few days 555. I really don't want to leave! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong. I've already highly recommended it to all my friends! (￣∇￣)

This hotel definitely deserves five stars. The rooms are spacious and well-arranged. All the amenities, including the kettle, coffee machine, and even the toiletries, are from well-known brands. The room also features AI voice service, which is very convenient and practical. The entire hotel is exquisitely decorated, with large and luxurious elevators. The hotel isn't far from the ancient city, and there's a Wanda Plaza about 1 kilometer away, making shopping and dining very convenient. The breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious options; it was quite busy during my holiday stay, with most tables full. I booked late and the hotel was fully booked, so I had to wait until the second day to get an available room. It's a highly recommended hotel, and I've already recommended it to many friends.

The bedding was comfortable and the room design was reasonable, but the room had a noticeable smell of new renovations, and the facilities were generally unacceptable. Despite being advertised as a hotel built in 2025, the toilet sliding door was difficult to open, the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, the TV signal was poor and frequently froze and could not be projected, and the air conditioner made strange noises. It was simply impossible to associate this with the quality of a five-star hotel.

Facilities: The design is excellent, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged and very practical. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable; lying down felt so therapeutic, and I fell asleep almost instantly. Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable. Environment: The location is perfect, within walking distance of Daiwang Mansion, Drum Tower, and Huayan Temple. After watching the iron flower performance at night, it was just a short stroll back to bed. Service: The service was incredibly attentive and prompt. The butler recommended many delicious local eateries, and they were all indeed fantastic. The tea at the front desk was also delightful; I'd fill my thermos every time I went out – it was so comforting. They even offered a thoughtful bedtime gift, making the overall experience incredibly pleasant.

Absolutely amazing! I was a bit worried about the noise since the hotel is right in the middle of a food street. When I checked in, I casually asked what time the food street closed, and the lovely lady at the front desk immediately upgraded us to a room on the parking lot side – totally quiet, not a sound! Honestly, just finding a hotel at this price in this area is a win, so I didn't have high expectations. But the front desk and concierge staff were all so wonderful and accommodating with every request. Definitely a five-star review! 🥰🥰🥰

The hotel's breakfast was plentiful, and the interior design and decor were excellent. The complimentary bathhouse tickets allowed my family to shower separately, so we didn't have to wait for each other. The main advantage is the excellent soundproofing in the rooms; during the Dragon Boat Festival, I barely heard any sounds like doors closing from other rooms. Overall, it's great value for money and a very comfortable stay. I'll definitely come back. Just a small suggestion: popular attractions like the Yungang Grottoes open at 7 AM during peak season. If breakfast could start at 6:30 AM during peak season, it would be much more convenient for guests to get an early start.

My stay at Futiandahua Rain Hot Spring Hotel was absolutely fantastic! First off, the location is superb, right inside the ancient city. It's super close to where they do the iron flower show, which, by the way, is an absolute must-see. I'm getting on in years, but watching that show brought tears to my eyes; I was so moved by the performers' dedication and the incredible spectacle they put on. It's clear the hotel owner pays incredible attention to detail. My two girlfriends and I stayed in a triple room, and from the moment we walked into the lobby, we were gushing over the hotel's ambiance, the staff, and the room's decor. Every little detail was thoughtfully done. Even when we were heading out to explore the ancient city, the front desk proactively offered us a pack of tissues to take with us. The room itself was a standalone unit, so it was incredibly quiet. They delivered coffee and afternoon tea daily, and the fruit plate in the room was fresh. There was also a cooler in the lobby with bottled water available for guests. The whole room was smart-enabled with XiaoDu (a smart assistant), and the shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable, with a separate wet and dry area. Oh, one small thing: the trash can in the bathroom was a bit too small; I hope they can improve that. The private hot spring was amazing. After a full day of sightseeing, coming back to soak in the hot spring and chat was just pure bliss.

We chose a 'kang' room (a traditional heated bed) for our family of three, and it was perfect, with all the necessary amenities. The guesthouse service was excellent; they contacted us beforehand about check-in. When we arrived during the day, they arranged an electric car to pick us up and help with our luggage, ensuring a seamless transfer from the parking lot. The owner is really nice too; I left my phone in the room when we went out, and the uncle professionally delivered it to us! 👍

We checked into Yunman·Xi at 0930. We were afraid that we would not be able to find the hotel at night, so the lady came to pick us up at the parking lot of the ancient city bar. It is very convenient to park and take a taxi there. Facilities: There are not many rooms in the hotel. Each room has a private pool where you can put hot spring water for hot spring bathing (P6). There are curtains so you don’t have to worry about them showing through. It’s very comfortable. You can shower directly next to the pool. There is a Xiaoai classmate in the room, which can intelligently control the air conditioner and TV with voice. Environment: The hotel is decorated in a very bourgeois style, with a koi pond and camping chairs (P7-9, 11). It is very comfortable to drink tea and enjoy the breeze. There is an observation deck on the second floor. We checked in at night, and the night view was beautiful. During the day, refer to P8, 12-13, 1001🇨🇳 is also in time for the National Day When I checked out, I happened to encounter a truck transporting hot spring water (P14). The proprietress said that the store is close to the parking lot and transports it at least twice a day. The hot spring water released from the hot spring is all hot spring water. The temperature when it is transported is 50 degrees +, lower left corner It is the passage for transportation into each room of the hotel. It is imported from the truck with a hose. We were so busy watching this process that we forgot to take pictures hahh😂 I would also like to mention Yunman·Xi’s mascot (P15) - September (named September because they picked up a stray cat in September). It is a super beautiful silver gradient folded ear and very cute. Small, not afraid of life I stayed for one night and had a good rest. The proprietress and the ladies were very nice. I recommend everyone to choose their home and go to the hot springs again next time♨️
