Horqin Grasslands

The Horqin Grassland in eastern Inner Mongolia is not a scenic spot, but a vast and boundless grassland. The Horqin Grassland is at the northwestern end of the Songliao Plain, including the entire Xing'an League area and part of Tongliao City. The north is bordered by the Hulunbuir Prairie, and to the west of Horqin is the Xilingol League. There is a vast area and a large area of natural pastures. At the same time, it is also the birthplace of the famous Qing Dynasty Empress Dowager Xiaozhuangwen (grandmother of Emperor Kangxi). Horqin Grassland has a long and tortuous history. The surviving places of interest include the Temple of Genghis Khan, the ancient city of the Liao Dynasty, the Jinjie Hao, the former site of the Horqin Ten Banners Huimeng Site and the Bowang Mansion. Horqin grassland attracts tourists from the mainland more because of its vast prairie and lush high-latitude forest reserves. The grassland scenery in Tongliao City is more, and the Aershan area of Xing'an League is located in the Greater Xing'an Mountains, where tall larch grows. You can also go to the Zhurihe Grassland Tourist Area in Tongliao, where the Qing Dynasty Empress Xiaozhuang Wen and the national hero Gada Merlin were born. Here, the blue sky and white clouds are interdependent, and there are horses and sheep everywhere. You can experience the authentic Mongolian herdsmen life here: ride Mongolian horses on the grasslands, live in yurts on the grasslands, participate in the bonfire party on the grasslands at night, drink kumiss, eat roasted whole sheep, and meet Mongolian girls Dance around the bonfire together. You can also go to Daqinggou in the grassland, which is a 24-kilometer-long forest ditch in Horqin Left-wing Houqi. The Mongolians call it "Chonghule", which is the "green pearl of Horqin Sandy Land". The trees here are lush, the spring water at the bottom of the ditch merges into a meandering and clear stream, and the two banks are overgrown with trees and grasses. It is a rare and clean place in the current domestic tourist season. You can walk through the forest between Daqinggou, Sanchakou and Xiaoqinghu in the scenic area, and the scenery along the way will definitely make you unforgettable. Horqin grassland has a vast area and many scenic spots. Tourists from other provinces and cities can first arrive at central cities such as Tongliao City or Ulanhot, and then transfer to various scenic spots from here. Public transportation is not convenient for many scenic spots. Tourists can use public transportation to reach neighboring towns and then charter a car there.
