Wugong Mountain Scenic Area is located in the central and western part of Jiangxi Province, at the junction of Pingxiang, Yichun, and Ji'an cities, in the northern section of the Luoxiao Mountains on the Hunan-Jiangxi border, with a total area of 183 square kilometers and a planned area of 385 square kilometers. The forest coverage rate is 83.35%. The main peak of Wugong Mountain, White Crane Peak (also known as Golden Top), has an altitude of 1918.3 meters. The scenic area on the Pingxiang side is called Wugong Mountain Scenic Area, the one on the Yichun side is called Mingyue Mountain Scenic Area, and the one on the Ji'an side is called Anfu Wugong Mountain. After work on July 27, 2018, I rushed to the train station, took a 12-hour hard seat overnight to Pingxiang train station, ate breakfast outside the train station waiting for Dipei, during which I met two donkey friends, Uncle Dan and Brother Zhong, they were also here to hike Wugong Mountain, we shared a car to Shenzi Village to start hiking from here. On the first day, we mainly reached the Golden Summit, from Shenzi Village, passing through the uninhabited village, Iron Hoof Peak, Golden Summit is about 5-6 hours. Each scenery is different, the initial forest, walking around the mountain, then passing through a large area of bamboo, banyan trees, there is a place that needs a little climbing, after crossing it is almost Iron Hoof Peak, wow, it's really beautiful! Countless peaks are connected, one side of the mountain is blue sky and green lawn, the other side is sea of clouds, reflecting the corresponding beauty. Wugong Mountain makes people want to go again and again. Each season has different beautiful scenery! We stayed at the Golden Summit, without water, the accommodation conditions on the mountain are very general, coming out to play is to be casual. After watching the sunset, it started to rain, worried about the difficulty of going down the mountain tomorrow, because I am not good at going down the mountain. But the moon after the rain is really beautiful, it turns out we just happened to be on the 16th night, everything is so lucky! The next day I also saw the sea of clouds sunrise, always so lucky, so people should be kind and sincere! Do more good deeds and the god of luck will always look after you! Golden Summit, Hanging Horse Pile, Guanyin Rock, this section is a developed area of the scenic area, many tourists, I don't like such crowded places. The scenery is also a relatively beautiful piece! But I think the section from Iron Hoof Peak to Golden Summit, and the long section from Guanyin Rock to Fayun Boundary are beautiful. The scenery is still on the road, you still have to climb step by step, the scenery you see is the most beautiful. Guanyin Rock, Despair Slope, Hero Slope, Thousand Zhang Rock and Windmill Mouth, this section takes about 5-6 hours, climbing one mountain after another, going up and down the mountain, it's really hard, for someone like me who is particularly not good at going down the mountain, it's a hardship, of course, it's also a challenge for those who are not good at going up the mountain. I've climbed too many mountains, I can't remember how many I've climbed. Despair Slope is the downhill road, Hero Slope is the uphill road. Although the journey is hard, the scenery is really beautiful! It gives people a feeling of sudden enlightenment! Continue to go forward is Fayun Boundary, the best place to watch the sea of clouds. Before this, the sky was already very dark, we were lucky to arrive before the rain, hiding in a dwelling, the heavy rain came big and left quickly. After the rain stopped, we continued to move forward, from Fayun Boundary to Longshan Village is about 2-3 hours, this section of the road is torture for me, because it's all downhill, there is no flat road, or uphill road, all downhill, there is no time to slow down, so I don't want to go to Wugong Mountain again, my friends went several times later. This is one reason, and another, I don't want to go to the places I've been to for the second time, because the world is too big, there are too many places to go, I want to go to places I've never been to. I can't see the end of the downhill, my feet are worn out on this section of the road, after enduring many times, I finally reached the foot of the mountain, but there is no car, I can only limp forward, one step at a time, walk to the village, finally there is a car, then share a car to the station. I suggest everyone must book a car in advance for pick-up and drop-off. This will be much better. The time to come down is still early, 5 hours away from the 10 o'clock hard seat at night, then I and Dipei opened a hourly room to take a bath, 2 days of fatigue, 2 days without washing, so comfortable! After arriving at Pingxiang North, you can directly carpool. There are many carpools there, and the price is not expensive, 30 yuan per person. I arrived late, so I stayed nearby for one night. D②: I carpooled with others to the tourist center, and then took the free bus to Wugong Mountain. 🚵‍♂️ Original mountain climbing route ➡The whole journey of the uphill route is about 4-6 hours: Tourist Service Center-Shigu Temple-Longtan-Monkey Valley-Diaomazhuang Plank Road-Zijigong-Haohan Slope-Diaomazhuang Meadow-Wanbaogui-Golden Top ➡Downhill route: Golden Top-Golden Top Meadow-Scorpion Stone-Glass Plank Road-Wishing Stone-Zhong'an-Shigu Temple-Tourist Center On the day of climbing, it snowed heavily. Because of the late arrival and the time spent taking photos, I didn't climb the whole journey. I took two cable cars. If you don't take the cable car, it's estimated that it will take 6 hours to climb the whole journey. It snowed heavily that day, the road was slippery and dark, and there were many steep mountain stairs, which were really hard to climb. Fortunately, I took the cable car, otherwise I really couldn't climb up. It was snowing and getting dark quickly, so when beginners go, they really need to arrange their time and route well. Later, I thought about it and could add some equipment appropriately. Winter is about keeping warm. Accommodation🏠 I booked the star room of Yunzhihai Service Station in advance. The environment is not so bad, and there is an electric blanket. When I climbed here, it was already more than 7 o'clock in the evening, and my hands were already numb. When I went to bed, I turned on the electric blanket, took out my hot water bottle and warm baby sticker, and I was so happy!! So all the efforts did not let me down in the end, I saw the snowy Wugong Mountain I have been longing for. Like things, always have to pursue it once. The scenery on the road is beautiful, but you have to appreciate it yourself, so as not to let down your youth. The most romantic thing is not to watch the sunset with the one you love. Nor is it the young age of eighteen. But a mountain climbing trip that you can go on a whim. The end of the mountain is not necessarily a mountain, but my own melody. So! 📍 Itinerary Planning: 🚞 Guangzhou to Pingxiang Station: Depart from Guangzhou by train at 8:40 pm on Friday, arrive at Pingxiang Station around ⏰ 6:30 am, pre-arrange a chartered car for 200/6 people, and head to Longshan Village immediately upon arrival. 🛤 1️⃣ Reverse trailhead ⛩ 8:30: Start hiking from Longshan Village 🧗‍♀️ (Taxi can be directed to Fenglin Mountain Villa, the path on the right is the way up the mountain) You can buy water 💧 and dry food at the foot of the mountain, the prices are not too expensive, ten yuan for a bowl of poached eggs 🥚 Jiangxi rice noodles is quite a bargain, fill up and then you can start the ascent. 2️⃣ Yangjiao Jian ⛩ 11.11: After about three hours of continuous climbing through bamboo forests, you'll reach the ridge (where the trail opens up), currently about half of the supply points are open, they use bamboo 🏝 to build some basic benches, even if you don't buy anything, they are available for everyone to rest, which I think is quite humane. 3️⃣ Fayunjie ⛩ 12.43: There's a stone monument 🪦 here for a checkpoint, we chose to have lunch at the small shop here, to lighten the load of our backpacks 🎒. There are many forks in the road, and various signs 🪧, the inns on the mountain will mostly guide you to take the route that passes their inn, it's best to download an offline map in advance to find the most suitable route for yourself. 4️⃣ Qianzhangyan: Walking over a series of small hills. 5️⃣ Haohan Slope ⛩ 15.42: Down from Haohan Slope to the mid-mountain is where we stayed for the night - Wufa Inn, 160 per person including breakfast and dinner, the weather is cold, but the rooms in the inn are warmer than I imagined, as they are wooden, the sound insulation is very poor (basically non-existent). The next morning at 5.56 we set off to conquer the Golden Summit 🆙. 5️⃣ Despair Slope starting point ⛩ 6.26: Actually, Despair Slope is similar to the previous slopes, but this slope has no proper path, you have to walk on rocks, which is a bit more difficult compared to before, 7.10 conquered Despair Slope. 6️⃣ Guanyin Dan ⛩ 7.52: It's a relatively large accommodation point, we didn't stay long and continued on our way. 7️⃣ Diaoma Village ⛩ 9.10: The most despairing part of the entire reverse journey is probably the path from here to the Golden Summit, a continuous climb up stone steps, after yesterday's physical exertion, basically need to rest for ten seconds after every twenty steps, there are large restrooms + hot water at the foot of the mountain, you can replenish here as needed. 8️⃣ Golden Summit ⛩ 10.12: Arrived at the Golden Summit, successfully conquered the modest Wugong Mountain, this is the highest point of Wugong Mountain, there is a stone monument on top for checking in, and then you can choose to hike down the mountain/take the cable car down, we chose to take two cable car rides down (Golden Summit cableway to Zhong'an cableway) 9️⃣ Scenic area gate ⛩ 13.00: End of the special forces, time to go home. Equipment: Hardshell jacket (essential), fleece, lightweight down, headlamp, trekking poles, quick-dry clothing, hiking boots, thermos, rice, change of clothes 👔 📍 Route Intensity: The reverse route is not too difficult, it's more appropriate to complete the challenge in two days ✅ ⛺️ Camping is not recommended in this weather: Because it's cold you already have to carry a lot of clothes + camping gear, the load is too heavy, it will be too much for your shoulders to bear.
