Baiyangdian is located in the central part of Hebei Province, about 140 kilometers away from downtown Beijing and downtown Tianjin. It is an ideal weekend destination for the Beijing-Tianjin area. There are endless reed marshes and waterways crisscrossing the area, and the environment is beautiful. Every July, large tracts of lotus flowers bloom, which is even more beautiful. Several major attractions have been built in the Attraction, including natural scenery with lotus flowers as the main body, cultural buildings with the history of the Anti-Japanese War as the background, and performances and other projects with rich content. In addition, there are many farmhouses in the Attraction, where you can taste river food, eat lotus roots, watch fishing, and experience the leisurely life in the water village.
The Baiyangdian Attraction is large in area, with a depth of dozens of kilometers. There are some small islands in the lake, which have been developed into several major Attraction. There is no access between the island and the land, and it can only be reached by Cruise, so you have to take a boat to enter the Baiyangdian Attraction. Starting from the Anxin Wharf of Baiyangdian, which is also the location of the gate of the Attraction, you need to pay the lake entrance fee (equivalent to the Adimission Ticket) and rent a boat here. It is very convenient to rent a boat. The size of the boat varies. There are both speedboats and small wooden boats. Generally, it costs about 150 yuan to rent a 4-person hand-rowed boat for a day, and you can take tourists to various scenic spots without time limit. The speedboat costs about 40-60 yuan per hour. If you stay at a local farmer's house, you can choose not to rent a boat, and let the owner of the farmer's house pick you up by boat and lead you to various scenic spots. The boat fare is generally included in the accommodation fee, and sometimes it can help save the lake entrance fee, which is much more affordable than renting a boat alone.
There are many scenic spots in the Attraction, such as Lotus Grand View Garden, Exotic Garden, Baiyangdian Cultural Garden, Princess Lotus Garden, Baiyangdian Treasure Island, Fisherman's Paradise, Leisure Island, and Mandarin Duck Island. There are many overlapping contents in these scenic spots, so you don't need to visit all of them. The time of ordinary tourists does not allow it, so 2 to 3 scenic spots are enough. Lotus Grand View Garden, Exotic Garden and Baiyangdian Cultural Garden are the more famous scenic spots in the Attraction, and you can choose according to your own interests.
Lotus Grand View Garden is a famous scenic spot in Baiyangdian Lake. There are hundreds of Chinese and foreign lotuses here. It is the largest lotus garden in China with the largest number of lotuses. In July every year, the pond is full of blooming lotuses, which is a good place for viewing and photography. In recent years, the Grand View Garden has also introduced the world's largest lotus, Victoria regia. The lotus leaves are like huge jade plates, with a diameter of more than one meter. They can withstand children standing on the lotus leaves, which is very special.
The Exotic Park is a performance-based park where you can see crocodile fighting, lion hunting, Thai singing and dancing, tightrope walking, and other performances, as well as haunted houses, exotic carnivals, and other projects (some of which will be charged separately)
Baiyangdian Cultural Park is dominated by cultural landscapes. There is a palace built when Emperor Kangxi lived here, a memorial hall commemorating the story of the Yanling Team during the war, and temples and other buildings, all of which can be visited one by one.
In addition, there is a situational drama performance called "Gazi Impression" on a small island next to the Baiyangdian Cultural Park. The performance is mainly funny and many tourists go to watch it.
