Hui Ethnic Temple

The Hui Nationality Temple in Yining City, formerly known as Ninggu Temple, also has names such as Phoenix Temple, Jinding Temple, Shaanxi Temple, and Shaanxi-Gansu Temple. It is a famous temple in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture. This large temple was built in the fifth year of Qianlong's plan (1760) in the Qing Dynasty, and was added in the forty-sixth year of Qianlong (1781) to complete the construction of the temple. It has a history of more than 200 years. According to legend, when the mosque was built, the local yamen allowed village elders to write "100 million stickers" in the mainland, and hired architects from Guannei to come to the western gate of the motherland to build this Chinese palace-style mosque. This is not only a religious undertaking, but also marks that Yili is an inalienable territory of the motherland. The Yining Hui Temple is modeled after the Huajue Lane Mosque in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. There are mountain gates and main gates in front, shadow walls and gate towers on both sides. The main building of the temple is the worship hall. The halls and pavilions are well-structured, elegant and elegant. The layout is elegant, and the momentum is magnificent. There are 42 rooms with an area of more than 600 square meters. There are roll sheds and corridors on the front and back of the hall and on both sides. It can accommodate more than 1,000 people for worship. The three roofs of the main hall are of a hook-and-loop structure. In this ancient temple, thousands of people attend the ceremony on festivals (Rouz Festival, Eid al-Adha, etc.).
