Huiyuan Ancient City History and Culture Exhibition Hall

It was the capital of Xinjiang. Zuo Zongxu in the late Qing Dynasty recaptured Xinjiang and established a general's house in Yili. Lin Zexu was removed from office after selling cigarettes and sent to Yili in Xinjiang. At that time, General Yili admired Lin Zexu's talents and let Lin Zexu live not far from the general's house.

It is a Huiyuan Ancient City Exhibition Hall. It is not too far from the General's Mansion. It is still next to Lin Zexu's former residence. It is enough to walk around for 40 minutes. The place is not big. No one knows it.

Huiyuan Ancient City, the center stands the magnificent tall Bell and Drum Tower, the tower is overlooked, and the scenery inside and outside the city has a panoramic view. Historically, Hong Liangji, Yuan Yunshi, Lin Zexu, Deng Tingxu, Xu Song and other famous knights have left brilliant results here. Lin Zexu led the people to open water conservancy, consolidate border defense, for the benefit of the people, and was respected and trusted by General Yili and the people of all ethnic groups. Although Lin Zexu only has two years in Huiyuan, his diaries, poems, and letters are left behind. The former site of General Yili's Mansion is in Huiyuan City, Huocheng County, Xinjiang. The old site of the General's Mansion is still preserved in the city, and the old site sits north and south. The ancient trees in the courtyard are towering; the hall, Taihe, winding path and corridors still exist. The small and exquisite "General Pavilion" has been renovated and stands between the green pine and green trees. A pair of strange-looking stone lions in front of the former general's house are still in the courtyard, and they are realistic and endearing.

Huiyuan Ancient City is an important passageway from Xinjiang to Central Asia in history. It has a long history. The historical Wenshi exhibition of Huiyuan Ancient City fully reflects the politics, military, economy and culture of the ancient city at that time, which is particularly valuable for understanding the historical and cultural history of the frontiers of the Northwest Region.
