Hongyaxiao Temple

Hongyaxiao Temple was built around 1600 AD in the 35th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty and has been around for more than 400 years. The temple now has Daxiong Hall, Amitabha Hall, Maitreya Hall, Dharma Protector Dragon King Li Laoye Hall, Dharma Protector Nine Temples, Rebirth Hall and Monk House, Zhai Hall, Guest Hall, Recitation Hall, Circulation Office and other buildings. It enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Medicine Buddha, Maitreya Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Weituo Bodhisattva, Kalan Bodhisattva, Eighteen Arhats, Ananda, Kasyapa, Dragon Girl, and Good Fortune. The guardians enshrined include the Dragon King Li Master, the Black Old Lady, the Lady Sending Children, the Thunder God, the Electric Mother, the Wind God, the Rain God, the Turtle King, and the Yaksha. A total of 52 statues. The current Hongyaxiao Temple has not only expanded in scale, has a new appearance, many monks and laypeople, and doubled its good faith; moreover, it has complete merits and virtues, strong incense, the temple’s prestige has been spread far and wide, and the Dharma rain has been widely distributed.
