UNESCO World Heritage-Cultural Site
@travellerswillI have to say the architecture of the Grand Palace is amazing and very detailed to other parts of Europe I've seen. However, there are too many tourists around and very hard to get a photo with other people photo bombing.

Lucy McCauslandHad a great trip to Brussels and this activity was a real highlight. It was pricier than I imagined but worth the joint ticket with mini-europe!

Churches and Cathedrals
sculptorThe Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula is a medieval Roman Catholic church in Brussels, central Belgium. It was dedicated to Saint Michael and Saint Gudura of Brussels and is considered one of the best examples of Brabantín Gothic architecture. The construction of the church began in the 11th century and was almost completed by the 16th century, although its interior was often modified in the following centuries. The church was granted cathedral status in 1962.

Fran V.The Jeanneke pis statues doesn't seem as famous as the Manneken Pis statue which is more centrally located and easier to find. Supposedly if you find the Jeanneke Pis statue it is good luck. Make sure to toss in some coins in the small fountain and make a wish. This statue is hidden in a small alley by surrounding pubs and restaurants in Brussels.

Art Museum
@travellerswillA must go experience and it's free. It's great to see the museum and treasures inside. Beware there maybe a queue but worth it.

Brussels Travel Tips

About Brussels

While Brussels may be important due to its role as center of the European Union, beer aficionados and chocoholics might wish to differ as to Brussels' main attraction. With its location a mix of Romance- and Germanic-speaking folks, Brussels is at the bilingual crossroads of the Flemish north and French south. While the city has been overshadowed by its more flamboyant neighboring capitals, the ancient streets, outdoor cafes and Grand Place square, with its statuesque buildings best seen illuminated at night, woo visitors who like a quieter pace. Art lovers would enjoy the Musées Royaux does Beaux Arts de Belgique, which houses masterpieces from Pieter Bruegel, van Dyck and Rubens; Autoworld, with vehicles dating to the dawn of the combustion age; and the Musical Instruments Museum, with its 1500 international and historical pieces. A fantastic landmark to see and eat dinner on is the Atomium, a massive structure made of gigantic spheres and connecting rods. Over a dozen city center hotel means you're never too far from the action.
