I've been wanting to visit Jiangmen for a long time, especially to see the Kaiping Diaolou. Later, because of the hit show "The Knockout," I became even more interested in Jiangmen. I have to say, this city, full of the charm of an overseas Chinese hometown, really surprised me. · 📷 Jiangmen citywalk one-day itinerary Liang Qichao's Former Residence ➡️ Chenpi Village ➡️ Zhonghua Hotel ➡️ 33 Market Street ➡️ Harvest Bookstore ➡️ Qimingli Square ➡️ Overseas Chinese Museum · ✅ Liang Qichao's Former Residence Located in Chakeng Village, Xinhui District, Jiangmen, this is the birthplace and childhood home of the famous modern Chinese thinker Liang Qichao. The century-old blue-brick house was built during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty and is a bungalow with Lingnan-style blue bricks and earthen tiles. ⏰ Free admission, closed on Mondays. · ✅ Chenpi Village About a 10-minute walk from Liang Qichao's Former Residence, this is the world-famous hometown of dried tangerine peel (chenpi). I have to say, the world of chenpi is beyond imagination—for example, chenpi ice cream. · ✅ Zhonghua Hotel Built in 1919, the building's exterior and the bougainvillea waterfall on one side are very photogenic. Standing on the stairs leading to Shengli Bridge, you can find the perfect spot to capture both yourself and the hotel in the same frame. · ✅ 33 Market Street A filming location for "The Knockout," featuring Nanyang-style arcade buildings, the local atmosphere of Jiangmen, and various delicious snacks. It's perfect for strolling, eating, and taking photos. · ✅ Harvest Bookstore A bookstore with a strong sense of nostalgia; it is said to have a history of over 40 years. · ✅ Qimingli Built in 1914, it was where the overseas Chinese Huang Ligao first built "Qiming Building," meaning "enlightening civilization," from which the area gets its name. It started as a settlement funded by overseas Chinese and has witnessed Jiangmen's over 600 years of development from a market town to a modern city. There are over 100 century-old houses that blend Chinese and Western styles, serving as a living "time museum" in the hearts of Jiangmen locals. It is also a filming location for "The Knockout" and "Sheep Without a Shepherd 2." · ✅ Xiong Yi Museum The graffiti on the outer wall is super eye-catching and perfect for photos. · ✅ China Qiaodu Overseas Chinese Museum Learn about the history of Jiangmen and the stories of overseas Chinese.
