Gaochun Old Street Review

Gaochun Old Street was built in the Song Dynasty. The overall layout and architectural style of the old street are basically well preserved, and the cultural resources are relatively rich. It is called "Jinling First Ancient Street". It is a window of historical heritage and a stage for food display.

The old streets are very typical for a dive in the old China.

Under the subway Gaochun Station, the taxi was about 8-10 Yuan to Gaochun Old Street archway. It was about 08 years ago. I have been here a total of 4 times since then. There has been no change in more than 20 years. The outer business circle of the archway is getting bigger and bigger, and the end of the old street is also constantly expanding. The World Heritage Hall and Gaochun Ceramics Hall were also built in the back, and the new Internet celebrity Guchengwan opposite was also built in the past two years.

Worth a visit.

Gaochun Old Street, also known as Luxi Old Street, is the most well-preserved ancient buildings in Jiangsu Province, and the most complete ancient streets of Ming and Qing Dynasties in East China. It is known as the "Jinling First Ancient Street". Gaochun Old Street has been officially established in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 900 years. Gaochun Old Street is also called a word street, with shops on both sides. Some shops along the street are obviously cultural insurance units, but they are being demolished and rebuilt, which is a shame. Commander Chen Yi, who led a team of the New Fourth Army in June 1938, set up a new Fourth Army team headquarters in Wu's Ancestral Hall. Yang Hall is a representative Ming and Qing Dynasty commercial and residential building, three wide, three deep, the first into the store, the second into the warehouse, the third into the bedroom, upstairs is the Miss Embroidery Building. The temple of Guanwang is the only existing Taoist temple in the south of the Yangtze River that worships Guan Yu, the name of the three kingdoms. It was built in the four years of Ming Dynasty (1491). The main center of the front hall is the Jade Emperor, and the right is the Wu statue of Guan Yu before the emperor was unsealed. I have not yet figured out why the central center of Guanwang Temple is for the Jade Emperor. The main hall is a sitting statue of Guan Yufeng Emperor. The right temple is dedicated to the Cihangdao people in Taoism, that is, the Guanyin Bodhisattva in Buddhism. Zuo Duo Temple is dedicated to the emperor Wenchang, the door of the temple posted a notice, the general idea is that candidates should come to worship the "exam god" before the exam. Qianlong ancient well was originally named Dachengjing, and later because Qianlong emperor had drunk the water of this well when he went to the south of the Yangtze River, the people called it Qianlong Ancient Well. The well was built in the four years of Ming Jiajing (1525).

An old street with a lot of history and culture is worth seeing.
