Castle Square is an old square in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It is located in front of the Royal Palace Castle and is the entrance to Warsaw Old Town from the modern Warsaw city center. The buildings on the square were destroyed in the Second World War. After the war, the main buildings here were rebuilt on the original basis, and the larger reconstruction project was the Royal Palace Castle, which was built in the 13th century. Also on the square stands the Column of Sigismund III, who moved the Polish capital from Krakow to Warsaw in 1596.
