Photos of White Pagoda

On the Denggao Mountain (also known as Dongshan) to the east of Yibin City, there is a towering ancient pagoda called the White Pagoda, also known as the East Wild Goose Pagoda. The White Pagoda was built during the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty (1567-1572 AD). The tower body is a hexagonal conical masonry structure with a hollow dense eaves, a total of eight floors, a height of 35.8 meters, a side length of 4.45 meters, and a base diameter of 11.2 meters. The tower door is carved with a dragon holding a pillar; the tower base is carved with a gravity-bearing man; there is a ladder ring in the tower to reach the top. There is a platform of about six or seven square meters on the top of the tower, which can have a bird's-eye view of Yibin City and the mountains and rivers. Yang Duan, a poet in the Qing Dynasty, once wrote a poem: "Bamboo sticks and mango shoes are very popular, and you can hear clearly everywhere in the suburbs. If you want to climb the White Pagoda, you can't see the autumn, and you will be sailing on a flat boat. Mangroves are better than flowers. When I return home, I don’t feel tired from walking, so I ask Heting about the restaurant.” Beside the White Pagoda, there are Climbing Mountain City and Gaoyuan Site. Dozens of steps away from the pagoda, there is Baoen Temple, also known as Baita Temple. There is a three-framed temple in the temple, with carriages on both sides, which is quite quiet. The existing part has been destroyed, and the old site remains.
