I highly recommend the Guolong Hotel! The biggest surprise was the huge parking lot – there's so much space that both family cars and business vehicles can park with ease, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot. The front desk service was absolutely excellent; the staff were warm and thoughtful, handling check-in quickly and efficiently. They even proactively offered tips for local attractions, which really enhanced the whole check-in experience!

This was genuinely one of the best days of my life. The service at this hotel is beyond amazing. They really pampered us in every way possible here. They offered to bring our lunch to us directly to our room, or have it ready by the time we went down to the dining area, which by the way has the most stunning panoramic view. The scenery is unforgettable, it’s straight out of a movie or cartoon, it’s just so perfect! We got the room with the rotating bed, tub, and balcony and couldn’t be happier! The food, drinks, amenities were all phenomenal and I genuinely cannot think of anything negative to write for them. We were at the point of our trip where we wanted a nice, relaxing stay with great service, and this ticked all those boxes! Our housekeepers and staff were Icey and Mayling, and they were beyond helpful even with the language barrier as I don’t speak Mandarin at all. Both them and the two female photographers who took great care of us deserve the world. If you are coming to Yangshuo, you NEED to book this hotel, it is a life changing experience. 15/10

We simply loved this hotel, everything was perfect! Jessica at the reception was really kind and helpful for any question we had during the three days we spent there, she spoke a good English and helped us book our activities. The hotel location is also perfect, close to the river with beautiful landscape but also close to the city center and all the restaurants. The room was super clean and wide enough for the three of us. Breakfast was delicious with great variety of food including Guilin rice noodles. The rooftop is amazing and the free afternoon tea is very enjoyable there. We even had a little gift upon checking out. Thank you Xitang River View Hotel! A tip : wake up for sunrise on the rooftop!! The location is quiet yet convenient for getting around, not too noisy but still easily accessible. **Cleanliness**: Very clean. **Ambiance**: The overall environment feels high-quality and worth the price. It's not like those regular guesthouses that jack up prices to over a thousand during peak season but have cheap decor. **Breakfast**: A rich variety of options, the rice noodles were delicious, and the corn juice was great. **Service**: Everyone was excellent, always greeting you when they saw you. Highly recommend.

Check-in was on the 13th floor, which is also where the afternoon tea, *luosifen* (snail noodles), and coffee are served – basically everything is on the 13th floor. I booked a king-sized bed on the 9th floor. As shown in picture 1, the view was quite nice, but the room was a bit small. Since I was with my elderly parents and wanted a bathtub, I asked the butler if we could switch to a twin room on the 3rd floor. As shown in picture 2, the view wasn't as good as on the 9th floor, but the room was much more spacious, which was great. Room facilities: Smart features, with a TV that can cast from your devices, and a smart toilet. Cleanliness: Very good and clean. Service: Upon arrival, the concierge helped us with our luggage and took us to the 13th floor. The front desk lady added me on WeChat and provided excellent service, helping us switch to a bigger room. When we went out, we asked for amenities to be left in the room, and they provided quite a lot. I got motion sickness and threw up in the sink at night. The front desk lady had an auntie come to clean, and she wasn't at all impatient, saying it was no problem. She cleaned it very thoroughly, which was wonderful! I was feeling too unwell to help my parents with the self-service laundry, but even late at night, the front desk lady was still available and came to assist. The next day, a robot delivered the items to our room door. Overall, the stay was quite good. Due to my health, I threw up several times at night, so I only had some fruit for breakfast. Breakfast: Generally enough to fill you up, but not many drink options. I mainly wanted iced orange juice, haha. Special thanks to 😍😍: The concierge, the front desk lady, and the housekeeping auntie! The front desk lady in picture 9 was amazing! I hope her boss gives her a bonus! 🍗

Service: The front desk staff provided excellent service! They upgraded our room at a discounted rate, and even gave us a fridge magnet when we checked out. Facilities: The facilities were great. The bed was super big, and the bathroom had a smart toilet and a small makeup mirror. Environment: The environment was absolutely beautiful. From the large floor-to-ceiling windows in our room, we could see Binjiang Road and the river, with lush green trees. Sitting by the window was truly a delight. Location: The location was excellent! It's right on Binjiang Road, just a few minutes' walk from Elephant Trunk Hill Park. It's also very close to a street with many local snacks.

Misty Guilin, truly lives up to its reputation! With a view right outside the window, stepping downstairs transports you into a picturesque scroll of mountains and rivers – distant peaks like painted brows, nearby waters hazy with mist, and swirling clouds that make you feel like you've entered an ink-wash fairyland. Choosing this place meant even a rainy day became a rare and beautiful experience. What was even more delightful was the hotel's service. The one-on-one butler was thoughtful and meticulous, ensuring everything ran smoothly from check-in to check-out. In the morning, that authentic bowl of Guilin rice noodles, with its rich卤香 (lu xiang - savory braised flavor), left a lasting impression. The room facilities were comprehensive, and the cleanliness was impeccable. This trip's perfect experience was set from the moment I first gazed out the window at the stunning view. Waking up in a misty haze and falling asleep surrounded by mountains and rivers – I wholeheartedly recommend this Guilin to anyone yearning for a poetic escape.

Our stay at Nanning Marriott was excellent! The location is superb, right above a shopping mall with plenty of dining options. The suite's sofa and bed were both huge, and the two sofas could easily double as beds. The breakfast spread was extensive and definitely five-star standard. This trip involved a large family, and we booked six rooms. We were given great room types and views. Even though two or three rooms were on different floors, we were provided with extra key cards, which made visiting each other's rooms very convenient. A special thanks to Rita and Arthur at the front desk for their genuine thoughtfulness towards guests. We had booked a suite for one day and two executive twin rooms for the following days, but they upgraded us directly to suites for the entire duration, saving us the hassle of changing rooms. We were extremely satisfied with their service. Sally and the housekeeping staff also provided fantastic service.

I've wanted to stay at the Lijiang Waterfall Hotel for a long time, and I finally had the chance during my trip to Guilin. It definitely lived up to expectations! The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area. You can even get a panoramic view of it from the top floor. The lake view was absolutely stunning. The front desk staff was very kind and even upgraded my room. The service was top-notch and very thoughtful, truly befitting a five-star hotel. The room had a bathtub, which was perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, the hotel was perfect, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Guilin.

We had a beautiful stay at Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel! The hotel is beautiful, well equipped with everything we needed - fresh water and towels everyday, option to chose between Chinese and Western breakfast and delicious fruits. Xiaoming was so nice to give us the e-bikes to drive around Guilin for free and we enjoyed using them a lot! If we had any questions about the area or needed a ticket for the li yang river cruise he immediately took care of it for us. We had also had a pickup from the train station so we didn’t need to find the way to the resort on our own. It was a wonderful stay. Thanks so much from the young German man, who looks like an old German man and his girlfriend ☀️

GGuest UserTucked away in the hustle and bustle, with stunning views. This hotel is right in the heart of West Street, so you're instantly in the lively commercial area as soon as you step out – super convenient for shopping and eating. But the soundproofing in the rooms is excellent! The lobby is two stories high, with a simple yet stylish industrial design and a spiral staircase that's perfect for photos! Highly recommend! Will definitely come back again.

GGuest UserA hidden gem by the Yulong River, perfect for a family retreat! ✨ Choosing the right accommodation truly elevated our Yangshuo trip, and the Yangshuo Xishi Jinshe (Shili Gallery Yulong River Store) is a divine hotel nestled amidst the mountains and rivers. Our experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish – I wholeheartedly recommend it! Before I dive into the review, I have to praise the service. It was thoughtful, warm, attentive, and considerate throughout our stay, making us feel incredibly cherished. 🥰 The hotel's location is absolutely stunning, right by the Qinglong Bridge on the Yulong River. From the large floor-to-ceiling window next to our bed, we had direct views of the continuous karst peaks and the gently flowing Yulong River, with bamboo rafts slowly drifting by our window. Every glance offered a picturesque, ink-wash painting-like scene. The design is simple yet sophisticated, blending perfectly with the natural landscape. The super-large floor-to-ceiling windows, courtyard lawn, and the rooftop 'sky mirror' all provided perfect photo opportunities. The environment is serene and peaceful, completely away from the hustle and bustle, creating an incredibly immersive atmosphere. I must commend the service again; it was exceptionally thoughtful, offering full butler-style service. Every front desk staff member was enthusiastic and meticulous, always ready to assist with any questions. The attention to detail was impeccable, making the entire experience relaxing and heartwarming. We initially booked for only two nights, planning to try another hotel for a different view, but we were so touched by the service that we extended our stay for another two nights. The service was truly exceptional. The downstairs restaurant exceeded our expectations. The ingredients were fresh and authentic. The Guilin rice noodles, beer fish, and braised chicken 🐓 were all delicious, and the eggplant 🍆 and green beans were incredibly fragrant. We had dinner there four times in a row, and each meal was satisfying and enjoyable; our whole family loved the food. The hotel's infinity pool offers direct views of the beautiful mountains and rivers. Our children spent several afternoons playing there. The area around the pool is comfortable and well-equipped, allowing adults to relax and enjoy the scenery while the kids have fun. It was a truly healing and immersive experience amidst the mountains and rivers. The environment, service, dining, and facilities were all top-notch. Whether for a relaxing getaway or a family trip, this is definitely a treasure choice for a stay in Yangshuo!

PPipajiKicking off our spring break, we headed south through Guilin, Yangshuo, Nanning, and Beihai. Yangshuo Wangjianglou Inn was by far the most comfortable and convenient place we stayed. The inn's design and layout exceeded my expectations; the quality was truly impressive. Given the limitations of the building itself, they ingeniously installed a luggage elevator, which was incredibly thoughtful for both guests and staff – big thumbs up! Yangshuo county is quite small, so there's really no need to stay directly in the scenic area (it's inconvenient, overpriced, and you'd need taxis for meals and transportation, adding to costs). Staying in the West Street commercial district was a very smart decision. We stayed and ate at Wangjianglou (for those who know, their restaurant is a super popular, must-try spot in Yangshuo with long queues!). As a guest, you don't have to wait; the front desk concierge helps with reservations directly, and you even get a 10% discount on meals, which is a fantastic deal. I'm already planning to bring my family back after May Day and will definitely be staying at Wangjianglou again!

NNoah Haas SilvermanThe Sugar House Yangshuo is, without question, one of the most visually striking and thoughtfully designed properties in the China. The architecture and restoration of the former sugar mill are exceptional, blending industrial heritage with modernism in a way that feels both unique and intentional. The grounds are immaculate, the setting along the Li River is serene, and the overall atmosphere is refined and memorable. From a “hard product” perspective, it stands out as one of the best boutique properties in China. That said, at its price point, the experience falls short of what would be expected from a true luxury hotel, largely due to service inconsistencies and operational gaps. One recurring issue was the presence of outside visitors or tour groups entering the property to take photos. At times this became disruptive, with noise and even instances of people taking photos toward our private balcony. For a hotel positioning itself at the luxury level, access control and guest privacy should be much tighter. Service, particularly in the restaurant, was uneven. Breakfast service was noticeably slow, with insufficient staff during peak periods. Similarly, room service lacked attention to detail, for example, beers were delivered warm, which should not happen at this level. More concerning was the lack of basic guest support from the front desk. When assistance was requested to order medicine, staff declined and instead suggested that we arrange it ourselves via *******. This is a simple concierge task that a hotel of this caliber should handle seamlessly. The pool area is a missed opportunity. Although it looks great in photos (and we really appreciated the complimentary photo service), the pool is unheated, making it largely unusable outside of peak summer. There is no proactive service, guests must go inside to the bar to place orders, and there is no assistance with towels or general poolside service. The absence of a hot tub or accessible spa facilities further limits the leisure offering. Additionally, while the hotel advertises a range of activities, availability was inconsistent. Rafting was said to be unavailable due to safety concerns, despite visible activity on the river, and attempts to arrange rock climbing were unsuccessful without alternative suggestions being provided. A very nice DJ both is in the bar, but in our three nights over a weekend, no music was played. This creates a gap between expectation and delivery. In summary, the Sugar House Yangshuo excels in design, setting, and overall concept, and it remains a highly memorable place to stay. However, the service model and operational execution do not yet align with its pricing. At USD 300–400 per night, guests should expect a more polished, proactive, and guest-centric experience, something that many significantly cheaper hotels in China currently deliver more reliably.

PPara paradiseI genuinely recommend this high-rise hotel. The service throughout my stay was excellent, and the front desk handled check-in efficiently, even kindly explaining nearby attractions. They were always on hand to help with any requests, which was very thoughtful. The room had great natural light, and the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning city views, creating a fantastic atmosphere at night. The bedding was soft and the hygiene was top-notch. Plus, the location is very convenient. It was an incredibly good value for money experience.

GGuest UserFacilities: The room facilities are complete, but the children's playground is a bit small and has a lot of room for improvement. Cleanliness: Excellent, no complaints. Environment: It's located on an independent hillside, and it seems like a resort is being built nearby, so there's some construction going on around the hotel. Service: Super enthusiastic. As soon as we arrived, a staff member was waiting in the parking lot to help us with parking and luggage. All the staff members were very warm and full of energy. Afternoon Sweet Encounter Dim Sum: The taste was just average. Zhuangjin Refrigerator Magnet/Straw Hat/Round Fan/Tie-dye DIY: Very interesting, a leisurely time. Suitable for just relaxing.

LLvxingfashaoyouxiongbaobaoGuilin Shangri-La, I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely love it!! Is Guilin Shangri-La old? No! While it's a bit older, every single facility is incredibly well-maintained! And the food? Even better! Perhaps my experience is limited, but my 6-year-old and I have traveled to 129 cities, and the variety and taste of the food in Guilin Shangri-La's Horizon Club (executive lounge) are super, super, super abundant!! The breakfast is also fantastic, and the Chinese food at Shang Palace is too!!! We stayed here for three days and ate our way through the entire Shangri-La from top to bottom!! The spa, gym, and pool are all super, super excellent! Big shout-out and praise to Ivan Yang from F&B, Linda Zhang from the Health Club, and Daisy Chen from the Horizon Club!! They were all absolutely, absolutely wonderful!!! Every single staff member is super, super nice!!! I love Guilin Shangri-La!! There are also many animals to see, hahaha, and even peacocks fanning their tails!

GGuest UserPros: The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from QianGuQing Park. The hotel environment and rooms are very comfortable. Although the view isn't of a scenic landscape painting, the room decor and materials are exquisite, and everything is spotlessly clean. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent. The shower stall is huge and surprisingly has two sets of showerheads! The butler service was also very efficient and satisfactory. Cons: There's a large new hotel construction project next to the hotel. There are various machine noises during the day, but it's quiet at night. However, the room soundproofing is so good that once the doors and windows are closed, you can't hear any outside noise at all. I am a bit concerned for the hotel, though, as once the new hotel next door is completed, it might obstruct some of the current views. Overall, I was very satisfied with this stay and have already recommended it to several friends.

MMimosaRA lovely place for staycation. It was so serene and the view, looking at the rice terraces, replenishes one’s soul and relaxes not just your eyes but your whole body. I love the position of the bath tub overlooking the rice terraces and the nearby osmanthus trees. Morning walk along the path and seeing the ready smile of the locals was sweet. The bed and pillow are comfy and clean. Had we stayed for more than 2 nights, I would have used the washing machine in our room 😉 We had our breakfast, not much options but filling, and dinner (not included in the booking fee and the food in the menu are freshly cooked once you order) at the hotel’s restaurant. The hotel staff are accommodating. They even helped us arrange a car to bring us to and from the hotel. Free use of traditional costume for pictorial.
