4-Star Hotels in Hovedstaden, Denmark

I and my son stayed for 3 days (btw 26-29 May ) at a Deluxe Room at 5th floor. Hotel Location was very close to TIVOLI and Central Station. Room was clean and wide. I stayed on ”Breakfast included” basis.. Since I am an omelette or scrambled egg person at breakfast, the breakfast menu was sufficient for me because omelette and scrambled egg they were included under breakfast menu. . However, I've seen same star hotels with much more richer breakfasts of course. 1) Our 5th floor room was reachable via 2 elevators. Firrst you take an elevator and go to 1st floor. Then at 1st floor you walk through a looong coridor. I guess, after this long walk we reach to an additional building of hotel which you cannot understand.. From there you get the elevator again and reach 5th floor. ( I stayed at room 1503 ) 2) Everyday the room was cleaned. 3) The reastaurant staff was very friendly and they were giving service in a very kind way. 4) The reception staff; They did not do anything wrong, but normally I expect a larger smile and more welcoming, energyc, warm attitudes when I step in a hotel. I do not know why I could not feel this at this hotel reception. Secondly, when the Italian male receptionst asked me about my room choice when checking in ( room with a view OR quite room looking at inner garden ), I said I prefer the room with VIEW. However, when I was choosing the room with view, I did not know that room was looking at a street where ROAD CONSTRUCTION was going on. He only told me that street can be crowded only during weekend. I said we will leave until weekend so I thought that I will not be effected from any street noise at a evening. But a CONSTRUCTION NOISE during day that he did not mention was not nice. Overall, it is a nice hotel. But ask where your room is exactly located and ask if you will reach by 1 or 2 elevators. Photos are; from Breakfast and view from my 5th floor room. Reason for choosing this hotel: The location is superb! It's very close to Copenhagen Central Station, about a 3-minute walk. Plus, there are cheap supermarkets, a 7-Eleven, two metro stations nearby, free luggage storage, and breakfast included. All things considered, even though it cost NT$13,000 per night, I think it was well worth it! 1. I sent an email with questions beforehand; the first one got no reply, but the second one was answered within a day. The front desk staff seemed young and energetic. 2. The room was more spacious than expected. Four people could open their 24-inch suitcases without any problem. There was a large enough wardrobe and excellent lighting. However, after exiting the elevator, we had to climb four more steps to reach our room (I guess it's connected to another building). 3. The room had a capsule coffee machine (with two bottled waters) and tea bags, which were all quite good. 4. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The hairdryer was wall-mounted in the bathroom, but the airflow was a bit weak and it overheated. We ended up borrowing another one from the front desk. If you're particular, it's best to bring your own. 5. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but I think it was thoughtfully prepared. There were self-serve tea sets, various flavored drinks, fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious bread (Danish croissants were really good!), tasty boiled eggs, and simple hot dishes. What was a bit unusual was that the coffee was served in a large pot on the table; it wasn't as good as freshly ground coffee and tasted just average. It was okay with oat milk. 6. A thoughtful touch was that we arrived at around 8 AM on the check-in day. We were given a card that allowed access to the ground floor restrooms (two quite spacious ones) and the luggage room. The lobby was very comfortable, and I felt like a lady of leisure just taking photos there! We also stored our luggage until 8 PM on the check-out day. 7. If I had stayed at another hotel, I might have had to spend an extra NT$1,000+ for luggage storage. So, even though this hotel seemed expensive at first glance, I think it offered great value for money. It's important to consider these hidden costs.

I booked to stay at Hotel Mayfair after my flight was cancelled and I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous and there’s a really nice outside area as well as a gym. My room was very spacious, clean and decorated beautifully however I would have appreciated maybe a kettle and some tea and coffee in the room but that was available at the hotel lobby. The location was great very central just next to Tivoli Gardens with lots of food options in the area.

The room we stayed in was on the 17th floor and had a great view. The location is excellent—it’s close to the train station, and there are several restaurants and supermarkets within a short walking distance. The room wasn’t very big, and the lighting wasn’t bright enough, so it felt a bit dark at night. I really liked the idea of offering free snacks and bread at the reception that were left over from the breakfast buffet. It’s a thoughtful way to reduce food waste.

Overall, we had a good stay. The service was great from the beginning - check-in was smooth, luggage storage was available, and the staff were genuinely kind and helpful throughout our stay. There were also some nice extras for members, including wine and champagne hour. The hotel has two restaurants and a bar, and the location is very convenient. You can rent bikes directly from the hotel, and there are also plenty of city bikes just outside. The parking area is massive as well, which is useful if you’re arriving by car. The standard room was quite small, although that’s not too surprising for Copenhagen, and for a three-day stay it was perfectly manageable. The main downside was the cleanliness. There was a water carafe in the room that you’re supposed to fill yourself, but ours was covered in dust and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time. The iron and board were also quite dirty and very cheap quality forcing me to iron my dress for 30 min as the dry cleaning service wouldn’t be able to return dress in time. We also didn’t manage to have our room tidied during the stay. Housekeeping arrived fairly late in the day while we were getting ready to leave for a wedding, so we asked if they could come back later, but unfortunately they never returned. Despite those issues, we still had a positive experience overall, mainly because of the excellent staff, convenient location and facilities.

Overall decent stay. My room was very basic, it had no blackout curtains, no large mirror and a small sink. Otherwise clean and comfortable, with very nice toiletries, as well as good tea. Plenty of noise from the road, so I wouldn’t really stay here without ear plugs and an eye mask. Slippers were provided on request, the kind of cost cutting you wouldn’t expect when summer prices exceed 200€/night. For international standards, this would be considered a higher end budget stay, but for Copenhagen it’s very solid. The most disappointing part was that I had a poor interaction with one of the staff members on my last day. I called reception to ask if late check-out was available. I was told I can check out at 1PM for 150dkk. I specifically thought that was quite cheap. When I went to the reception, they told me I’d actually have to pay 250dkk, not 150dkk. This wasn’t a significant problem, probably just a misunderstanding, plus I wouldn’t make a scene for 100dkk. However, I did tell the staff member that she said it was 150 on the phone and she seemed to be offended and responded very condescendingly. I just wanted to pay and get out of there. Didn’t really expect an apology, maybe she did actually say 250 and I misheard or maybe she said 150 and misspoke, it’s impossible to say for sure. I was just hoping for a less conflictual attitude, as I wasn’t trying to dodge the fee or start an argument.

The supermarket and subway are very close and convenient, and it's not as noisy as the city center. Check-in is on the top floor, where there's a rooftop garden restaurant with an artistic vibe. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance. There's a pantry for self-service refills of some supplies, and you need to use a key card to access floors, which adds to the security. The open kitchen has a dishwasher and refrigerator. The only thing to watch out for is the extra-large hanging lamp – if you're not used to it, you might bump your head. Also, you need to climb stairs to get to the bed, so seniors and children should be careful.

The hotel building is distinctive, with a lobby that is arranged to be warm and cozy. The merchandise is exquisite, and the breakfast at Tiger Lily is abundant; besides the buffet bar, you can also order omelets prepared by the chef. There is a café and a shop in the lobby. I personally ordered coffee and fries, which were delicious. I also bought a stylish suitcase and some candies, feeling that the facilities adequately meet the needs of travelers. The hotel rooms are spacious, designed with a lively and unique style, resembling a fashionable cabin. Complimentary snacks and beverages are provided in the room, along with a WiFi speaker. The beds are warm and comfortable. Just across the bridge from the hotel is Newport, and nearby there are local outdoor eateries and an ice-skating rink, making the area quite vibrant. The hotel is within a 5-minute walk to bus 2A, which goes to the city center, reaching Liberty City in just one stop, so transportation is relatively convenient. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended.

The room was stylish, beautifully decorated, and had a pleasant atmosphere. There was enough space to open two large suitcases, but it left little room to walk around. The bathroom had an unusual design that took a bit of getting used to, and there wasn't a dedicated space to put clothes before showering. There was no wardrobe in the room, but the lighting was good, not too dim. You could request extra bottled water from the mini-fridge. There were two sets of 3-4 steps on the walkway from the lobby to the rooms, which might be inconvenient for guests with large luggage. The hotel didn't offer bellboy service, but staff could assist with heavy bags if needed. The elevator lighting was quite dim compared to other areas of the hotel. The lobby area was comfortably air-conditioned and featured both a library and a vinyl room for relaxation. Breakfast offered a wide and quite comprehensive selection. The hotel's location in the old town was surrounded by walkable attractions, restaurants, and local shops, making it ideal for those who want to explore the city at a leisurely pace. Overall, the hotel is best suited for travelers with smaller luggage planning a 2-3 night stay to fully experience the old town's atmosphere on foot.

The location of the hotel is very nice, especially suitable for travellers who are having early flights. There’s a connecting-corridor between the airport and the hotel, so no need to worry if it’s cold and raining outside. If you would like to get some food for late-night snack, you can even shop in the airport.  But I was quite surprised that a four-star hotel is not providing complimentary room slipper and ask travelers to pay for the set.
